La ubicación y la limpieza
Reservé una habitación con dos camas a través de Booking porque no aparecía la opción de habitación sencilla. Al llegar al hotel me cambiaron a una habitación sencilla, pero me cobraron la tarifa de la habitación doble que había reservado. Si me hubieran reembolsado la diferencia en el precio o explicado el motivo por el que no era posible hacerlo, no habría tenido ningún inconveniente. Considero que este aspecto podría manejarse con mayor transparencia.
Muy céntrico a terminal de autobuses ADO, además de que relativamente es caminar unos 15 minutos hasta llegar al centro donde está todo, al igual que tiene varias paradas de va y ven cerca
Al menos la habitación que me tocó la base de la cama aún aguantaba pero se veía muy mal. La pantalla es plana si pero de calidad cuestionable y solo eran pocos canales. El aire acondicionado era de ventana, funcionaba pero esperaba algo un poco mejor.

Había un Halls pegado en la sábana y se fue la luz por una hr en la madrugada.
The room was ok for the price, the aircon was more than sufficient - it was over 30 degrees outside but the air con kept the room very cool. In fact I had to turn off the aircon for the night because it was too cold to sleep in the room. Unfortunately it was not possible to turn the aircon down so I had to turn it off completely. The room had no windows and possibly due to this fact it was cool in the room all night despite the airconditioning being off. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. Excelent location - close to the historic centre of Merida and just opposite the ADO bus station. I booked this hotel because of its location and partly because I wanted to experience the Mexico budget hotels.
The electricity went off one time - it was completely dark in a room with no windows - luckily it happened in the afternoon just after check in. I didn't plan to stay in the room at that time - I just went out to see the historic centre and don't know how long the outage lasted. The biggest dissapointment however was the breakfast. The hotel advertises a good breakfast so I booked the room with breakfast included. Now the price comparison - the hotel cost $21 per night - the breakfast for that morning cost more than the room itself - it was around $23. For that pricce of $23 in European hotels at breakfast you can expect a buffet breakfast with all kinds of food available: cooked food, cold meats, pastries, fruits etc. In the Hotel Espanol there was no buffet breakfast available - when I entered the restaurant in the morning it was all empty - no guests, no staff and no food whatsoever. I asked where the breakfast was and the staff showed me the menu list with prices included. I explained that I had already paid for the breakfast on booking.com. At that point they showed me that I had paid for continental breakfast - I don't really recall that the breakfast I booked was a continental one. In any case even with continental breakfast for that price in other hotels you usually have a buffet breakfast with all sorts of meats, breads, spreads and pastries. What the staff served me in this hotel was only 2 American pancakes with a drop of maple syrrup! The other available option was a toast with jam! No tea available, no orange or apple juice. I had to order coffee but the coffee they serve is undrinkable. Honestly it was the worst coffee I ever had - very sour which could not be improved with any amount of sugar. After that breakfast I was still very hungry and had to go to the bus station where I could only buy sandwiches (there is a Subway restaurant at the station but weird enough they were open but not serving food even though it was as late as 9 am.)

Que los huéspedes pasan hablando temprano en el lobby y no dejan descanzar, porque todo se escucha en los cuartos, talvez un letrero de hablar mas bajo, huéspedes descansando sería bueno
Que tenía balcón y está cerca del ADO y de otros lugares. Puedes llegar caminando
Que no tenga un frigobar. Deberían poner uno así para mantener las bebidas frías
La ubicación es excelente, en una reseña leí q alguien se quejaba de q está en una zona muy transitada (eso es cierto) y se escuchaba el ruido de los autobuses pero en mi caso no escuché nada, de hecho hay una puerta entre la recepción y la zona de habitaciones, así q supongo eso ayuda a aislar el ruido, el servicio de limpieza impecable y el personal muy atento.
Cuando llegué había unos detalles con el agua del lavabo y la regadera q salía por todos lados y la tv tenía una raya en medio, lo reporté en recepción y afortunadamente al día siguiente me resolvieron todo, realmente pasé más tiempo afuera q en la habitación así q no fue un gran problema.
Muy limpio a pesar de ser un edificio de muchos años.
Todos los días limpiaban la habitación, cambiaban las toallas y varias veces durante nuestra estancia cambiaron toda la ropa de cama.
Pedi habitaciones en la 1ra planta pues no tiene elevador.
Solo ofertan desayuno pero no es necesario más pues muy cerca hay donde satisfacer las necesidades alimenticias. Incluso las 24 horas del día.
Cruzando la calle está la terminal de ómnibus donde se puede obtener comida ligera y a 1 cuadra un establecimiento OXXO que trabaja las 24 horas con muchos productos ligeros.

The location was great, right by the bus station and not far from the main square. The pool looked good but we didn't have time to try it out.
Seemed really clean though and it was really cheap, and we weren't there much.
The air conditioning in the room didn't seem to be doing anything, it was 37 C during the day outside and 28 C in the room at night, def cooler outside at night!
The shower was confusing and didn't work well at all.
