Great Venue and Service for a Smooth Event Experience
Pros:

I had a really great experience attending the HITA (Hotel IT Association) event at Four Points by Sheraton Makassar. The reception staff were super friendly, and the bell staff were very helpful from the setup all the way through to the end of the event. The meeting room was spacious and bright, which made the whole event feel smooth and well-organized. It was also really easy to coordinate with the staff on site—they were responsive and easy to talk to. The Wi-Fi was fast and stable, probably thanks to the good quality access points. And the food? Tasted just right! It really added to the overall comfort during the event. All in all, I was very happy with the service and facilities.

The Most & Remarkable Experience of Stay
Pros:

Sharing my experience staying at Four Point by Sheraton Makassar which was very impressive. This is the umpteenth time I have been on a business trip to Makassar, this time I stayed on June 8-11, 2025 participating in business mapping activities with Surabaya Travel Agent and collaborating with PHRI, ASITA, Makassar City Tourism Office, more than 80 buyers and 40 sellers from various cities in Indonesia. The event was very good and the service provided by the Four Point by Sheraton Makassar Team was extraordinary.
Service: Starting from reservation, security guard in front, bell desk, FO/Concierge, Room attendant, F&B Team is very extraordinary and enthusiastic in serving guests who stay and do business activities. This hotel is very busy especially since there is a meeting room that is very adequate for MICE activities including Weddings. And coincidentally when I had a business activity there was a wedding activity too.
The city is very lively with all the activities and the cuisine is also very diverse. Another experience that I will never forget is the attentive service of Team Four Point by Sheraton Makassar given to all guests and especially me, I was always offered a Nice Cup of Coffee when I entered the breakfast venue and in the cafe in the lobby, the staff on duty there really understand what I like.
Thank you to Mr. Agus Sunaryo a newly GM who has just joined, with his leadership I am sure he will be able to bring things in a better direction. Thank you for your warm hospitality and best wishes for all Team Four Point by Sheraton Makassar.

Makassar superb hospitality
Pros:

Stayed for five nights here, I could experience very warm and impressive hospitality. I was greeted by duty manager (his name is Rangga) - amazing person, keep it up! He escorted me to the room I have been allocated to. As MB ambassador elite member I received an upgrade to very spacious room (executive suite) and welcome amenity - local sweets. Thank you for that!
Breakfast area and Lobby Lounge are in good shape and super, hard-working hands. Big thanks to Wulan, Winona, Rizaal, Kiky, Maria and Fajar for taking care of your guests (including me).
FO team was very helpful during my stay, everything was very smooth because od them. Rara, Baya, Olivia - thank you for your commitment.
Last words to general manager, Mr. Iguy, who is an amazing host. We use to say in Poland: "Guest in house - God in house" - that is how I would describe your personality. You have amazing team, please take care of them!

Not a good choice to stay in Makassar
Pros:

Very disappointed with the room tough bearing a 4 star name. The rooms were outdated, lighting was a mix between warm white and white, the bathroom was dark using low watt lights. What really bothered me was the way they placed the toilet... I could hardly sit and not touch my knees to the glass wall of the shower... furthermore the shower door cannot properly close causing water to wet the floor.

Breakfast was average, not a great selection.

Overall, I wish they seriously look into the inconveniences and make the Sheraton brand great again !

Pros:

Four Points by Sheraton is the sole established international hotel brand in Makassar. My greatest appreciation and gratitude towards the beyond-excellence standard of customer service provided by majority of the staff there particularly from the Hotel Reception, The Eatery Restaurant, The Golden Asian Restaurant and The Marriott Club helmed by Bapak Fajar.

I was staying in Room No.1001 for this trip. The toilet flushing system is very disappointing and was malfunctioned during my stay. However, the issue was swiftly resolved by the great maintenance team. I do not like to complain, but the hotel always force me to complain with its malfunctioned equipment.

I am a regular visitor to this hotel for the past 3 years. The greatest assets of this hotel are its human capital, the employees. Whilst its greatest weaknesses are its equipment such as toilet flushing system, hot water provision, internet provision and laundry provision. It is a blessing that the hotel's software (its people) is better than its hardware (facilities and equipment), but its hardware is required to be improved significantly to be fit under the Marriott flagship.

A serious review by the hotel's Top Management over the recurring complaints is critical in regards to the credibility and reputation of the hotel and its owner.

The location is not that accessible. The main highway outside is crowded and there's no pedestrian lane and seems very dangerous for people that are just walking, especially the motorcycles.

A Great Experience
Pros:

We are thankful to the many staff at Four Points Makassar for making our 5 nights stay so pleasant and memorable :
- the room service team for keeping the room clean and neat, we always look forward to returning to the cozy room after a long day of outing ;
- Winona (whom we met at the restaurant) and service with smile F&B team ;
- Risaldy for his recommendation of local specialties during our meals and we were glad to have taken his suggestion to leave early (4am) to catch sunrise at Rammang Rammang :D
- Yuniarto & Astri at the Front Office for their service and assistance.

Pros:

I sincerely tried to give a second chance to this hotel, after an awful experience in my stay last year. Unfortunately, this time was even worse. Only one person was standby at the front office, and the marriott elite line was there without anyone available to serve. Another person came up after I have to wait in line for some time.

The room I stayed (6029) has a clogged drain in the bathroom, so I had to ask to move to another room on my second day, from a total of three-night stay. Also there was a gap in the frame's door, where you could see the lights from the hallway coming in.

During the check-out, I asked via their whatsapp business account, which I got from the front office the day before, about the bill folio of my stay. Took more than 2 hours and another chat via Bonvoy app for them to respond.

Simply put, this hotel is by far the most dissapointing one for my stays in Four Points, and I had stayed in FP Medan, Bandung, Balikpapan, Bali, Surabaya previously, so I kinda know how their service should be.

I guess my second chance is enough, and will stick to stay in The Rinra or Mercure next time I visit Makassar.

Elevators were slow and malfunctioning, furniture in the rooms are old, we had to ask for several (basic) amenities that were missing (towels, hairdryer). The food in the restaurant is okay, but not excellent. Quite some showers didn’t have warm water.
