A barely adequate motel.
Pros:

Good location considering the remote rural Iowa location of Vinton, Iowa.

Cons:

The mattress in our room was thoroughly destroyed by hundrd, perhaps thousands, of previous guests. Huge indentations where others had slept or sat on the matress. it badly needed replacement.

Moreover, the plumbing in the bathroom leaked, especially around the toilet. Every time you flushed the toilet, water appeared on the floor.

The breakfast was appalling--powered, cold scrambled eggs, fatty sausages, and English muffins that were mostly stale. The Seattle Best-brand paper coffee cups also leaked. We tried three or four cups every morning until we found one that didn't leak. After two of these shockingly disappointing breakfasts, we opted for McDonalds don the street for breakfast on our third morning. Night and day difference!

Comfortable stay in Vinton
Pros:

Nice, clean hotel. Had a comfortable stay and the service was great. The convenience store and bar were nice add ons that made the stay easier.

Pros:

It was ok. Tiny towels. Dingy room. I got a king suite thinking king suite. It was just a regular king room with a tiny jacuzzi in it. But the worst was breakfast. Cold biscuits cold gravy. No cups for milk. It was awful.
