Good location for beach and town centre although man y shops were closed down ..and there were street people about on the high street the swimming pool was ok , a hand rail by the steps would have been helpful specially for children and those more mature on there years or not good on there feet ..
The lift is tiny and c old and dangerous ,Lord knows how it passes a safety inspection every year ,the room layout Is a monkey puzzle seemingly randomly scattered about the hotel .. I found a locked fire exit whilst trying to find room .. sadly the spa hot tub was not working ,it looked old and on need of a replacement .. my room was ok bex a little too low ,bathroom was the smallest bathroom ever although there was a separate one down the corridor as like on the old days when rooms didn't have wn suites ... Shower was small and looked elderly and was a mira one known to be useless ... I was not offered breakfast or evening meals even for extra payment .. the receptionist on Monday morning told me off daring to use one of the pens for sale to write out 3 numbers on my railway travel pass ! Also Tea bags in the room were unwrapped should be kept wrapped to keep them fresh and not open to being covered germs from sneezes etc.
I had a pleasant one-night stay at the Royal Pier in Sandown. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony with a really nice sea view, which was definitely one of the highlights of the stay 🌊. The bed was comfortable and the overall atmosphere felt calm and relaxing.
The décor throughout the hotel was a little dated and could probably benefit from some modernisation, but everything was well maintained and clean. The location was excellent, very close to the seafront, pier, shops, and local attractions, making it convenient for exploring the area.
Overall, it was a good stay for the price and I would stay again, especially for the views and location.
The breakfast selection was quite limited and felt a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the stay. There was not a huge amount of choice available, and during busier times items seemed to run out fairly quickly. A wider variety of hot and continental options would definitely improve the experience for guests staying longer than one night.
I also found there was very little information or explanation provided regarding the pool and leisure facilities. It was unclear where certain facilities were located, what times they were available, or whether there were any specific rules or booking requirements. Some clearer communication at check-in or information available in the room would have made the experience feel much smoother and more welcoming.
Room was clean, quiet and bed comfortable.
No Wifi in the room>amazing in 2026. Swimming pool not open before 7am or after 18:00 so no good whatsoever to anyone who has come to the island to work. Very disappointing. Odd arrangement where people travelling alone can't just sit anywhere in the restaurant. So on the whole, on my, emergency list not my priority list. Shame really, because the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Ubicación, atención, instalaciones
No hay parqueadero, no hay wifi, los colchones de las camas super incomodos y muy viejos, se les sentian los resortes.
Like going back in time to a much better time than it is now
Location
Dated beyond what I imagined
The front-of-house staff were really lovely, polite and engaging.
The room was quite dated. The only actual issue was that the window didn’t shut properly and someone smoking outside made the entire room smell which was really unpleasant.
Great pool
Seafront location
The swimming pool and overall stay was good
Bed was a bit uncomfortable and I felt backache in the morning
Nice and tidy room. Calm environment.
Providing a small fridge and microwave can make it even better
Spotlessly clean, friendly staff.
Bed very small, shower was extremely slow.
Unfortunately our room was above a very noisy bar!
