Splendid location, get a room with a sea view, needs renovating inside, lovely staff.
Pros:

Great site on the seafront, and definitely pay (extra if necessary) for a sea view room, and ideally one with a bay window. Yes, as others have commented, the decor and fittings definitely need renewing. That said, being a privately owned hotel it has a friendly family atmosphere, and the staff are cheeful, friendly and helpful.

Happy to return
Pros:

I stayed here on a Monday night and the following Friday. Overall, I would definitely return as my rooms were comfortable and the hotel is in a great location on the seafront. There is a restaurant, which has a lovely sea view, but I didn't use it. The rate I paid was very reasonable and included breakfast. I didn't have time to eat it on my second stay as I was getting an early train, but I had been planning on having breakfast during my first stay, however I was dismayed to be told on arrival that I needed to book a slot for a hot breakfast, which was served from 7am, and that the earliest time that wasn't fully booked was 7:30. This didn't work for me as I was catching the ferry, although I was advised I could help myself to the cold buffet. This was a disappointment as I would have been happy to select a time for breakfast when I booked. Overall, a good experience and I'd be happy to recommend the hotel.

Pros:

A good location with great views. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

Unfortunately the lifts were out of order and we were on the third floor. Generally looking a little tired compared to our stay there many years ago

The room was best described as functional for an overnight stay, but it certainly wouldn’t be ideal for a long period in
Pros:

Location. a clean, comfortable bed

Cons:

I had a very pokey room. It would be helpful to have a little bit of art on the wall. I didn’t think this room was good value.

Last minute stay
Pros:

My friend and I moved to this hotel after a disaster with our first accommodation booking.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, allocating us a twin sea view room which was comfortable and clean.
We very much enjoyed the view, despite the rain and our seagull visitors on the window sill were lovely.
Breakfast was also everything you could want with hot food brought to your table, nothing to complain about.
Overall, a wonderful stay and I would not hesitate to encourage others to do the same.

Great sea views and friendly staff
Pros:

The staff are friendly and helpful. The situation is outstanding, with great views across the promenade to the sea. Definitely worth paying for a room with a sea view.

Cons:

Decor within the hotel is dated and needs refreshing.

Pros:

In desperate need of renovation, customer service weak, cleanliness to be desired
Pros:

I liked that the property is on the seafront and it has parking

Cons:

It is very dated, our room was in very poor condition with damp on the wall and mould in the shower. Shower was leaking. The room was dusty. The bedding was atrocious- creased, felt unwashed, found hair in bed that was supposed to be newly maid up. Crockery in the restaurant was filthy.
