The staff was wonderful. The cabins were beautiful. Learning about the local history and checking out the ruins were very interesting.
Animal friendly.
So very sad to see how this has been let go.
You can tell this was once a large and energy-filled place with a lot to offer. However it seems they were bought by foreign investors that have not put a single dime into upkeep. The result is now a dilapidated shell of what was once there. For example, the main 'castle' building is completely unusable - which makes for some pretty mis-representative photos of the facility. It's completely off limits and falling into ruin. Also the main lodge building is not in a state to house guests, despite Expedia taking bookings for those rooms.
We were luckily upgraded to a self contained cabin unit because of this, as a result of the extremely nice and friendly woman working the front desk. But you can see that even these chalets are in need of a lot of work. And whoever owns this place is not putting in the effort.
They also do not have access to the lake anymore, which is a huge negative.
It's really quite sad to see what was probably once a beautiful resort with so many cool things to do and grounds to explore, be left to fall apart and crumble. Very saddening.
Only there for one night and just needed a room for a quick stop over. The bed was amazing.
It was very unique in the fact you were amongst cattle ruins.
The property is perfect for anyone working at the local mine or buisness. The rooms are dissent size, with a mini fridge. There is provisions to do your own cooking in the shared kitchen. I would prefer staying here over some of the local motels. Very quiet. I stayed in the log house and the heat was limited. I will be returning on my next visit.
The location is excellent near little lake and the exterior of the buildings is beautiful.
Kayley ( the lady in the office) was so helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our time in Rainbow castle resort. Heating system, hot water, and room service was perfect. Neat and clean. Highly recommended.
it was nice but very cold there is no heat in the house it only has space heaters jetted tub so cold couldnt use it
The property was alittle run down, the room wasn't ready when we got there and there were ATV's going way too fast.
The price is cheap and now I know why. The property is not maintained. My door lock broke but was not fixed! Then the dead bolt started breaking and we could not lock it at all. The lake is not swimmable either. There was supposed to be a bbq provided, I even called about that before we left to go there, yet there was not. After asking about it several times, we met a neighbour and borrowed a propane tank and had to get the bbq ourselves from the other side of the property. We should not have had to to do that!
The grounds behind this picture are dangerous! There is broken metal everywhere!
Value for the $$ spent. Room comfortable. No microwave, but it did have a tv, coffee maker and fridge. no phones in room. There's interesting things to explore on the grounds. Yes, it's a bit old and worn out, but the lodge is nice that we stayed in.
There was no one in the office. My info that we had a micro was not entirely true. It was in kitchen two rooms away. There was no time piece.
Only one pillow each. The bed was too soft for me but my partner liked it.
Extremely small room (Lodge #4). No air circulation. Window screwed shut. Smoke alarms missing. Bathroom was good.
We stayed one night, the place is nice but older. The receptionist can be reached by WeChat, it’s a bit surprising.
We enjoyed the peaceful environment and picturesque location.
Short drive to town for interesting things, supplies, and food.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Though the grounds were showing signs of lack of maintenance.
Good for a quiet get away so don't expect the ' Pan Pacific ' .
Gem in the rough
Clean comfortable and quiet stay .
Office staff very friendly and helpful .
The resort property was cool lots to see but not maintained at all lots in I’ll repair, staff was friendly but over worked, room didn’t get touched by housekeeping while we were there and was not clean to start.
Expected a room but got a Log Cabin to our pleasant surprise.
Cabin with a fireplaces n jacuzzi plus all the other aminaties.
We decided to stay at the Princeton Castle Resort last minute. We have been traveling from Alaska thru B.C. The place had just changed ownership and it seems as if they are making some property improvements. The reason I graded the place so high was because the room was very comfortable and clean and the lady st the front desk which checked us in was very nice (great customer service).
I would be very interested In Returning after a few property improvements were made. They had quite a bit to look at like the fossil stairs that led to their piggies. Hopefully in the updates they will make the piggies pen a little nicer... but they had boats and peacocks and the overall stay was pleasant.
Amazing place to stay. Quiet ,in nature ,stuff to do on the grounds ,log cabins ,so peaceful for a get away from reality. Will definitely be back with the kids so much to see and do old ruins from a castle on the property so cool ! You can fish and swim when lake is clean. Yes there’s a lake property is on its own little lake it’s amazing and beautiful!!! Kids will love this place ! Staff was friendly and accommodating and amazing! Me and the hubby and kids will be back lots. And it’s cheap for a night not overly priced.
