I've been to five hotels in four states in two weeks. This tops them all
Pros:

The hostess is amazing, an angel! Thoughly enjoyed the music from the musician provided whilst eating in the glow of Mt Hood. He belted out some real toe tappers. The establishment oozed chic when you walk through the main door. A lot of hard work has been done. Also theres a 24hr Lauderette just around the corner.

Aangenaam positief verrast geen standaard hotel
Pros:

Historisch gebouw met speciale sfeer. Eigenaresse achter de balie en gaf meteen gratis een upgrade omdat niet alle kamers een eigen badkamer hebben

Cons:

Geen tv of koelkast of airco op kamer maar ook niet nodig gehad daardoor kom je meteen in een historische vibe

Magical cozy place
Pros:

Location was perfect on our way to north WA. The place is like from a fairy tale. I wish I could stay there longer. You really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere in this magical house. It looks very cool.
The room with bathroom was very comfortable and rather spacious and comfortably warm.
The owner who greeted us is such a nice lady! I really hope this place thrives!!

Pros:

This is such a delightful departure from just a "hotel or motel" on one's journey. In fact, despite it's rural location, it is truly a destination. There are not word to describe how lovely this property is and how robust an experience one can enjoy here. Do yourself a favor and do not book a cookie cut-out accommodation, book here and enjoy the kind hospitality, the serene surroundings and the added amenities of spa services. We absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back!

Pros:

The "bones" of Dufur are a 1900 farming community, now close enough to The Dalles to attract a few commuters but not close enough to be the stereotypical bedroom. The downtown, and the Balch Hotel are surrounded by Wheat fields. The best part is the outstanding hospitality of the staff... and of the community generally.
