Denied check‑in due to a coerced management demand, with no evidence or documentation!
Cons:

I arrived with a confirmed Booking.com prepaid reservation, but the hotel refused to check me in. A receptionist made an allegation without providing any evidence, witness statement, or documentation. No incident report was shown, no details were explained, and no verification was offered at any stage.
The manager stated I would only be allowed to check in if I apologised, despite there being no factual basis for the claim. When I declined to apologise for an unsubstantiated allegation, my stay was cancelled on the spot.
This raised serious concerns regarding IHG’s duty of care obligations and basic operational standards. A hotel should not refuse service without clear evidence, proper documentation, or a formal incident report. None of these were provided. The lack of process, lack of transparency, and absence of any documented justification is deeply concerning from a guest rights and safety perspective.
Additionally, although I was told the refund would be issued immediately, it was not processed until a week later, causing further inconvenience.
The handling of the incident fell significantly below the standards expected of an IHG branded property.

Pros:

Friendly staff, good location for traveling to Harry Potter studios. Beds comfortable. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast good. Bit pricey for room. Didn’t like having to give £50 security deposit for each night on hold from my bank incase anything was damaged. It was £100 gone from my account that I hadn’t allowed for as it wasn’t mentioned until I was checking in.

Cons:

Friendly staff . Good location and parking onsite. Good breakfast plenty of choice.

Pros:

The staff was exceptional. Friendly, accommodating and helpful. I had dietary requirements so Tatiana and Viola looked after me well, a special thanks to them. Ravinder at the front desk was helpful and friendly and gave us an upgrade. Thank you Crowne Plaza, we'll be back!

Cons:

The spa didn't have loungers.

Pros:

Comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Cons:

Asked for a quiet room and got put in a room with a bank of air conditioning units right outside the window. Got charged extra for twin beds when that was what I requested when booking. Staff member on arrival was not friendly.
