In spite of having received confirmation of my booking for a room and table for dinner on the 29/9 when we arrived at 16.35 the hotel was closed. Personally I find this totally unacceptable when they had my mobile number so it would have been very easy for someone to contact me in advance

Absolutely 💯 percent memorable experience. From the moment you arrive you will be met with cordiality and attentiveness, but not in your face.
We ate dinner at the restaurant (Chef Frederic Carrion) and were delighted with a burst of flavours and colour. Truely one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I need a separate page to describe each dish.
We stayed in the Junior Suite which is spacious and spotless. And wow - what a comfortable bed.
A truely memorable time due to Frederic Carrion, his wife and the rest of the team. Thank you. We will be back.

Very hard to rate this hotel as it was good but the issue I have with it was value for money. The quality and service were fine and we did enjoy our stay but just felt everything was priced to the max, except the wine which was astronomical. Few choices of wine and some from across the road which had enormous marks ups.We had dinner on New Year's Eve and felt it lacked atmosphere and effort to bring it to life. A once only experience.

Amazing small luxury Hotel with big cozy rooms, a Spa with a Jacuzzi, and a formal gourmet Restaurant. The Duck is a must. Very kind service by the owner. Outstanding Breakfast, good wines. Dog friendly, We will come back

A four star hotel? What a joke. The experience begins from the ”reception”. A messy table with a messy guy in a bit dirty jeans and in a wrinkeled t-shirt. He takes us to the elevator to show our room. The elevator is dirty and noisy… we are starting to get a bit worried about our ”delux room”. The hotel guy takes us to our room, which is amazing… but not in a good way. The interior is more kitsch than Trump could design in his wildest dreams.

The room was supposed to have a view to a wineyards… but no, no views. I bring this up and then he takes us to another room and says that this is the best they’ve got. The room is again kitsch, but in another way. Can’t really describe the vibe, it was from the 70’s. And the view? To the backyards of neighbours, and if you raise to your toes you could barely see something green… We felt betrayed and we left, couldn’t sleep a night on that place.

M Carrion and his wife run this beautiful small hotel in the quiet burgundy village of Viré; in the heart of the Maconnais vineyards.

Very friendly hotel with a wonderful gourmet restaurant. The sort of place that you think no longer exists. The sort of place that you might expect Rick Stein to drop into and rave about.

Close to the autoroute and an ideal break for travellers from the south of France. Highly recommended.

Very friendly service with strong 'family atmosphre'. Food very original and delicious.

Charming hotel in village centre. Warm welcome. Lovely large comfortable junior suite. Spectacular dinner by chef Frederick served on the terrace. We had the Inspiration menu and it did not disappoint. Breakfast for a king! Frederic was an impeccable host, we thank you and hope to return.

We stopped off here on our way back from the Alps. We left on the Friday as opposed to 'change-over Saturday' to get a head start on the journey back. We arrived circa 21:00 hrs and were met by very friendly staff. They poured us both the most enormous glasses of white Burgundy and despite my appalling 'GCSE level French, were very helpful. The hotel is lovely with very modern but very comfortable rooms. Our room was an inter-connecting room with our two daughters' room and overlooked the square. The setting is so perfectly French with a patisserie, boulangerie and supermarche just across from the hotel. Very, very, very pleasant stay and would have loved to have stayed longer. We didn't have supper but I understand the restaurant is pretty special too. I hope I can find a reason to visit again.

Hôtel charmant, staff charmant, chambre très confortable, très bonne literie et la cuisine est excellente!

· The owner and staff were so welcoming. They accommodated us and our dogs who were allowed to stay beside us outside while we had delicious gourmet food and wine. They noted my husband’s allergies and made sure they never served him anything he couldn’t eat. The setting in a quiet village surrounded by vineyards is lovely and perfect for dog walking. All in all couldn’t have been better. And it’s easy to reach from the motorway.

Chambre magnifique

Très bel hôtel, luxueux, avec une cuisine formidable. Le personnel est très accueillant.
L’environnement est très calme, cela ajoute aux bons points de ce séjour.

Rien n'a critiquer, tout était très bien, le vin, les mets ainsi que le service.
A conseiller.

Goede ontvangst en zeer goed bed. Echter ontbijt was veel te duur voor wat het maar was. Brood was niet vers, koffie slap. Mijn tip blijven slapen en een ontbijt aan de overkant van de straat nemen.

Accueil au top. Joli village. Hotel bien placé sur la place principale (mais bien calme).
Menu degustation top (raffiné. Saveurs exquises et recherchée. Copieux, vu le nombre de plats (sans gavage, juste comme il faut).
On sent les etoiles passées et l'experience.
Un resto. de PROs. comme on en trouve de moins en moins ...
A faire absolument !
