The Loans Inn

We arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon to the Loans Inn, plenty ample sized parking slots were available and not too far to walk in the rain to the restaurant door. We were met by extremely friendly staff who showed us to a lovely table beside the window. We had reserved a table but not specifically by a window so this was a bonus, however, the entire place is beautifully decorated and any table would have been acceptable. The menus were brought and have a huge selection of choices for lunch/dinner. We picked from the 2 courses for £19.95 and expected a smaller portion of the full menu, however, this was not the case. Both of us struggled to finish the full 2 courses and we were delighted with the quality and taste of all the food we had. It is a gem of a place and we will certainly go again for lunch or dinner. Great food, great choice and lovely, friendly service and plenty of staff on hand.

Absolutely delightful stay! Staff were amazing, friendly, so helpful and REALLY comfy bed. Really thoughtful additions for our dog including water bowl, treats and towel available if needed.

Ate in the restaurant which again, staff were great and food was delicious. Breakfast was served in the bar area for quests with dogs and restaurant for pet free guests. We will definitely return!

We had previously booked for November 2025 but one of the family members was seriously ill. The team at the Loans were very understanding and allowed us to postpone the booking. We were finally able to stay in the Cottage at Loans on 21 March. Staff were lovely and accommodation was perfect.

Arrived in late and was away early for a ferry. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and room really nice too👍

Myself and Mum recently stayed here booking via one of the voucher deals. We absolutely loved it! The hotel is stunning, the decor is beautiful throughout and the whole place was comfortable and cosy. The voucher deal was excellent value. Our room was perfect, spotless and it had everything we needed. We especially loved the nice toiletries which were a lovely touch. Dinner was wonderful - tons of choice and the food was amazing. The portions were big and everything tasted fresh and delicious. A particular highlight for us was the breakfast - both continental options and hot options included. It was one of the best set ups we’ve had at a hotel for breakfast. The staff couldn’t have been nicer too. Our voucher included an hours session at the nearby Gailes Hotel so we also enjoyed the spa facilities there which was another added bonus during our stay. This is the perfect place to stay and we will definitely be back - the location was perfect and next to shops and the lovely seafront. Free parking is also available and the hotel was easy to find. We were so impressed and couldn’t fault a thing.

We had a lovely experience at the loans restaurant Amy was very helpful with her recommendations and the other staff were very attentive.
The restaurant had a cosy atmosphere nice for a date.

Nice big room, very clean and every amenity you could need is on hand. On site parking is very handy and the hotel is quiet and comfortable. Staff were friendly and the meals we had were good value and tasty. Breakfast had plenty of choice to set you up for the day.
Only issue was housekeeping knocking on the door both mornings, once at 9.15am.
All in all a good place to base yourself if you want to explore the area.

Easy check in when using a itison voucher, our key didn’t work for the room door but a member of staff had that sorted in minutes so can’t fault them.

Food as always was absolutely amazing and plenty of it as well. Staff extremely attentive an happy to help.

We had our dog with us and staff couldn’t have been better to deal with in regards to the floof. Even bringing out food and water for him too.

Room was absolutely spotless.

This is our second time staying with our first being over a year ago and absolutely nothing has changed, if it’s perfect, why change it. Highly recommend.

We booked for an overnight stay, we stayed previously in January and was that good, we decided to book for another day. The staff are all amazing at the loans and are very welcoming. We made use of the thermal spa at the gailles hotel, which was excellent too. We had dinner at the loans, the atmosphere within the restaurant was really good and the decor was a rustic vibe. The food was outstanding and the bar and restaurant staff ensured that we were well catered for. We had soup and chicken tempura to start, fish and steak pie for mains and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever tasted. The breakfast was continental which we helped ourselves and the hot food was served to your table, this was excellent. We stayed in a different room each time, the 1st room was larger and 2nd room smaller but each had its own character. We had 2 complimentary bottles on water on arrival and a bottle of wine as part of the deal which was chilling. Overall I would highly recommend and definitely will be back. Well done the loans inn staff for creating a great time for us.

Hotel is excellent.ideal for golfers and families.rooms were cleaned each day ,new towels each day aswell.staff at breakfast and at bar, nothing is any trouble for them .excellent location and would not hesitate to stay again thanks

Staff are like family to us, such a welcoming and amazing place, Food fantastic too. Atmosphere second to none. Very good value for money.

A definite 5/5 experience. Warm and relaxing. Spacious and comfortable room (114). Food excellent; really excellent. The hotel clearly has a top chef. Friendly Team who really make the experience enjoyable. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the loans in for one night but will definitely go there again. The location is very central and easy to find. Staff are all very friendly and deliver an excellent level of service. The room we had was great and the food was excellent.
