Pros:

Pros:

Exibition prices are very high, but here it's crazy because the hotel has no reception and no breakfast. On top of that, after a clear booking error, (same person staying same days) there was zero flexibility to find an arrangement, the whole crazy price was charged.

Hotel Max Garni
Pros:

The hotel was very noisy. TV noise from next door room and loud banging from above which was not a floor of the hotel.

I had to phone the hotel upon arrival in order to access the key, there was no one at the hotel on recption.

Pros:

It's not a five star hotel but...
Pros:

This is not a five star hotel (as in Marina Bay Sands or any of the majors around the world), but I give it five due to nice rooms, close to Hbf/city and value for money. Minus - no AC and no fridge. But stay here anyway!

Nice hotel in city center of Dusseldorf
Pros:

With a group of friends we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Rooms very clean, a bit small, but it has everything you need. Good coffee in the room. Friendly personel! Location: about 15-20 minutes walk to the Altstadt.

worst value for money
Pros:

The owner has changed last year. The new owner doubled the Prices within the period of the fair "prowein" - this is not fair. The rooms are more than average, there is no athmosphere. The equipment is "Gelsenkirchener Barock" with say in Germany. Very dark light you cant read a book or work. You have to Close your eyes and sleep, if you can.
The value for Money is not acceptable.

Nice hotel but.......
Pros:

The wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in December at a cost of around £265 euros, this was room only.

The hotel is located 650 metres from Dusseldorf Central Station which is around an 8-minute walk. We travelled here from Dusseldorf airport which confusingly has two rail stations. From arrivals we headed downstairs following signs for local trains S11. After a few minutes walk you are at the station and the fare is 2.80 euros for the 5 stops, 12-minute ride. Other routes are available.

A ticket machine is located on the platform, it may be prudent to buy a one day or two-day pass here if intending to use public transport in the future. A two-day pass for two people is around 20 euros. Ticket machines can be set to English, they take a bit of figuring out and the ones that we used wouldn’t take our credit card so we used cash.

We arrived at the hotel at around 6 pm. There is a phone number to ring as no one was there, be sure to have a charged mobile that’s capable of ringing German numbers. Perhaps an email with instructions prior to arrival would have been better?

We showed ourselves to our room and we were very pleased with it. It was spotlessly clean, had two single beds together with comfy white bedding. There was also a large TV with many channels and a coffee maker. The bathroom was very clean with a decent shower. Room service was good.

As the wife was unpacking, I ventured downstairs to find the free beer fridge that other reviewers spoke of. I was disappointed to find a fridge with only two beers and a box suggesting bad karma if a 2-euro donation per drink not made. It seems that we missed the boat for the free beer offer.

Although there are some bars and restaurants nearby the main large bar area, known as the world’s longest bar (street name is Ratinger Strabe) is 2 km away near the river. To walk here is 25 minutes or there are many public transport options (we used Google maps to navigate which shows all bus/tram/train routes in this area). On the first night we didn’t have a bus pass so took an Uber which cost 6 euros, a taxi was 10 euros on the return journey.

The hotel website boasts of a free travel card but when we asked for ours, we were disappointed to be told that the offer had expired in August 3 months prior to our trip. It wasn’t so much about the 30 euros but had we known we could have easily have bought travel passes at the airport and planned ahead.

On the first morning we had breakfast at a cost of 7.50 euros each. It was mainly cereal, coffee, bread, ham cheese and hard-boiled eggs. No offer of eggs cooked to order as previous reviewers had, perhaps we were just unlucky or this has now also changed?

Friendly, clean and efficient............

Very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Quiet, but central location within walking distance of most Dusseldorf sights and amenities. Good value. I certainly would stay again. Only request is for access to a 24hr, safe for valuables.

Good location and staff
Pros:

Friendly staff, nice and functional room, and free drinks in the lobby including sparking water, coke, and beer. The hotel is on a quiet street and less than 10 minutes away from the main station. Breakfast buffet costs 7.5 euro per person. A grocery store (REWE) is just around the corner, and a high-end food market (EDEKA) is only a few blocks away.
My room was on the back side of the building, facing residential units of other buildings. Some people in such units made noise at night, and it was disturbing with the window open. If I visit again during summer, I'll request a street-side room. Very likely to stay again in cool seasons.

Very nice clean friendly hotel..
Pros:

We stayed as a group of 11 people and all experienced a very pleasant stay in this well run establishment..our host Petra was very helpful and accommodating to our needs...free travel cards, and better still, a complementary, well stocked up, beer fridge were a great unexpected touch.
As was the good advise on where to eat and drink in the welcoming city of Dusseldorf.
If we to travel to Dusseldorf again we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
Thanks to Petra and her staff for a nice two night stay.

Nice hotel, recommended
Pros:

This is a great little hotel within walking distance of Düsseldorf's main train station (about 7 minutes walk, not counting traffic lights). It is on a street crossing, but since I had a room to the rear of the building, I had no noise issues at night. I don't think the streets the hotel is on are very busy at night anyway, so you'll probably be ok in front as well.

Very clean, nice and modern room. Personnel is very friendly. Didn't check for A/C, unfortunately. Price/Value absolutely top level.

Breakfast is pretty limited in selection, though they offer to make you eggs to order.

The only negative thing that I remember is the front door: the automatic closer apparently has an issue as it doesn't restrain the door in the last few centimeters, causing it to slam (loudly) every time someone comes in. That is a real issue at night, as you will wake up from it. Luckily, the hotel wasn't booked while I was there, so I only woke up once.

I would go stay here again!

Modern, clean and comfortable
Pros:

Rooms have everything you need, free drinks at night and a warm welcome and service. Looks modest but for the price is excellent. I like the punching bag in the hallway for a rapid workout if you want.

Fabulous and clean
Pros:

We loved our stay here ! It was clean and well organised. Room was lovely! Coffee machine was a bonus ! And free water in room. The only down side was the noisy apartment upstairs. We made most of the free beer (sorry 😂) free beer to Scottish folk is only going to go one way 😊. And we sat each and played cards downstairs

Comfortable and convenient
Pros:

We stayed for two nights at the end of January. The staff were friendly and very helpful, with the eggs cooked to order a highlight. The location is a convenient walk to both the Hauptbahnof and the old town. The room was spacious and comfortable and has all the charm of a boutique hotel. Would stay here again.
