Very old and dirty,in last night they stop the heating.
I booked to stay at the Chisinau Hotel as it looked the perfect place to experience an old-school former-Soviet accommodation, which I often look for in East European countries. It did not disappoint! The building is grand, and the entrance hall pure evidence of a bygone era - faded grandeur. The old-school rooms reminded me of my time living and travelling in Russia 25 years ago. Aside from the experience, the hotel is perfectly situated, a short walk away from the city centre, and convenient to both the train station and the airport (via bus number 30). The Gara Nord is also walkable, though also connected by bus routes 9 and 13 from a block away. There's a great little 24-hour supermarket just downstairs, and the Ciuflea Monastery is a short walk away. Breakfast was good, and the service on reception really helpful. Heating was fine, WiFi fantastic, and hot water always came after a short while running the taps. Thank you for a great stay, and some great nostalgic memories!
The poor reviews on here - get over yourselves, and book into the Hilton if you'd like an immaculate stay.
