Location and staff
Breakfast and the cost
Nice views. Not too far from the restaurants
We saw a small bar in reception, we first thought were not drinking there. Not realising when we went for breakfast there was a bar in the conservatory.
Was not told about the layout, but maybe we should have had a nosey around.
room was warm, all clean and had a bath which is good. Wi-Fi also quick. Tea and coffee selection in the room, but only bog standard instant coffee and tea
Receptionist was great, however breakfast and the staff were really disappointing, seemed like they didn't want to be there and had not cleared any tables despite it being quite early in the morning. had to remind her of getting us tea and I didn't even bother asking for coffee as machine looked out of order
Good location.
Bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was just ok.
A great and enjoyable evening at the hotel, light refreshments were most enjoyable and staff were most welcome and efficient with their service. Would certainly use the hotel in the future.
We attended the South Shields Suite for our Mam's wake.
The room was set out well, a nice bright room and the food was exceptional.
The favourites were the cod bites and the pasties.
It was a lovely venue for a tribute to her and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.
It was lovely quite, views lovely and staff were so welcoming.

A little dated in some areas. Needs some work done
Lovely views, clean and quiet hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Good food in the hotel restaurant with breakfast included in the price of the stay. Free parking with your stay a real bonus so you can leave the car when exploring the beachfront walks.

So clean ! Especially as it is listed as a dog friendly hotel . We don’t have dogs so we were worried about this but didn’t have to !

Nice clean spacious room ,good views, friendly staff and evening meals and breakfasts very good value for money, big car parking area
nothing really
Everything. The building the view the location.
Great big huge breakfast. This was a treat for my husbands Birthday. So lovely amazing views.
We had several problems with our lovely room. It had a huge bed and magnificent views, but several things didn't work. Quite a few things ! The receptionist Jeanjui and her husband Tom were marvellous. So kind rushing about fixing things, housekeeping came in on her day off, the staff was exceptional. They even gave my husband a bday gift. They handled a difficult situation kindly and professionally and in a way it made our visit. Fabulous
The view
Ants in the drink we were served, poor service at breakfast
We paid £1000 for a post-funeral gathering to honor my late wife. What was meant to be a loving, ultimate coffee afternoon was ruined by a shocking lack of care.
**Service failures included:**
* A severe lack of basic necessities, such as enough plates for guests.
* No music was played until guests were leaving.
* Issues with the photo display.
* Only one overwhelmed junior staff member was available.
Although we paid extra for a dedicated coffee service to prevent guests from needing to visit the bar, the service was extremely slow. As a result, many guests had to purchase their own coffee before leaving, and some did not receive any coffee at all.
Crucially, management never once visited our event to ensure everything was satisfactory, despite the sensitive nature of the day. Our multiple attempts to raise issues were ignored, and a subsequent formal complaint was met with dismissive excuses.
The lack of attention and professionalism from the management compounded our pain and turned a difficult day into a stressful ordeal. I used this venue 8 years ago after my dad's funeral and the service and care was excellent. I expected the same level of service but we were badly let down. There's no do-over for a day like this. Avoid this venue for any important event.
