Disappointing experience.
Pros:

The location was good close to the port and it had parking which is always an issue in Saranda. The rooms were modern and with decent facilities.

Cons:

I didn't like that it wasn't clean. All the towels smelled like frying oil except for one small face towel, which didn't smell like anything. And the bedsheets didn't smell fresh, and I found a few hair strides and pubes in them when I pulled the sheets off. I really wanted to sleep but I couldn't relax knowing all this. I decided to ask for new clean sheets and let the owner know about the cleanliness of the room. The toilet didn't seem like it had been cleaned either as there was hair on the floor and also found hair on the sides of the bed. The owner sent a cleaner with me to give me new sheets and clean the floors. They gave me new sheets, but I had to wait for duvet covers (which the cleaner wasn't happy to provide for) . She showed up 1 hour later with duvet covers, which were not fully dry, and I asked if she could bring them once they are dried as I can't use them wet. She never returned, and I ended up using the clean sheets as a protection from the duvet. The next morning, I wanted to take a shower but couldn't as all the towels smelled like used oil. I used the face towel to dry my hair only. No one apologised when I kindly let them know of all this. I ended up leaving the next day, even though I paid for two nights as I didn't feel I could sleep there again. Considering I stayed there 3rd of April, off-season, I understand maybe they were neglectful but truly disappointed. The good reviews mislead me. I hope they will improve their cleaning service and be more polite next time. Good luck.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit direktem Meerblick!
Pros:

Wir waren für fünf Tage von Ende März bis Anfang April 2026 in Saranda und haben uns das familiengeführte Hotel Piccolino ausgesucht. Wettertechnisch konnten bzw. wollten wir leider nicht baden, obwohl das Hotel direkt am Wasser gelegen ist. Dennoch hatte das Hotel nur Vorteile: Der Blick vom Balkon des obersten Stockwerks aufs Meer und auf die Insel Korfu war ein Traum, um Sonnenuntergänge zu genießen und dem Meeresrauschen zu lauschen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker mit einem Standardangebot sowie täglich wechselnden kleinen Spezialitäten (getoastete Käse-Schinken-Sandwiches, Nutella-Crepe-Röllchen, Pancakes, usw). Sehr angenehm war, dass man vor dem Hotel direkt mit einem evtl. mitgebrachten Auto parken konnte und nicht in den engen Straßen auf Parkplatzsuche gehen musste. Etwa 200 m entfernt gibt es einen gar nicht mal so kleinen Sparmarkt, bei dem wir alles bekamen, was man fürs Hotelzimmer oder Tagestrips so braucht. Von der Lage her brauchten wir nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß, um eine Vielzahl an guten Restaurants zu erreichen. Zum Fähranleger für Fahrten zur griechischen Insel Korfu waren es ebenfalls nur 10 min Fußweg, wobei wir Korfu allerdings nicht besuchen konnten, da in der Nebensaison Ende März / Anfang April leider keine Hin- und Zurückfahrten am selben Tag angeboten wurden. Wen Korfu interessiert, besser vor Reisebuchung die angeboteten Verbindungen checken. Und zuallerletzt vielen lieben Dank an die Gastgeberin mit all ihren Kolleginnen und Kollegen! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und bei Wünschen oder kleinen Problemen wurde uns super schnell geholfen. Sollten wir nochmal nach Saranda kommen, dann würden wir uns wieder fürs Hotel Piccolino entscheiden. Vielen Dank für die schönen Tage in Saranda! 🫶

Super séjour, je conseille
Pros:

Chambres refaites à neuf récemment, belle terrace donnant sur la mer . Vue sympa sur les étages en hauteur. Les propriétaires sont très attentifs au bien être des occupants. Petits déjeuners copieux et variés. Possibilité de faire laver son linge sur place. Gare maritime pour les départs pour Corfou à quelques centaines de mètre de l’hôtel, ce qui est très pratique. Front de mer proche également

Cons:

Il faut faire un peu de sport avec les bagages pour monter dans les chambres car il n’y a pas d’ascenseur. Le chemin qui permet d’accéder à l’entrée de l’hôtel n’est pas en bon état.

Honestly it was just fine. Family run and they’re lovely.
Pros:

Good location, immaculate, comfortable enough. Great breakfast. Not attractive grounds and no lift. If and when those things are dealt with it will be a primo destination. We’d gonna tomorrow.

Its a 10 on 10 experience. I stayed 4 nights at the property, most relaxing part of my Albania trip. Staff at the site and the service is impeccable 👌The view is fantastic.. property is super clean.. Breakfast options are great.. I liked the location too, outside of chaos snd just next to SPAR. I absolutely recommend it.
