A lovely meal, very good table service (Alice) - efficient, personable and attentive
Today was our 10 year anniversary so we decided to celebrate at the Brasserie in the Kings Head hotel and this turned out to be the perfect decision for us. This place has recently been renovated and it they did an excellent job!
On top of the beautiful location, we were given what felt like a tailored special experience by all of the staff there although I must say that Zack, gentleman that looked after us was an absolute pleasure and a credit to the level of excellence this place has to offer. He was amazing in every aspect!
And to top it all off he brought us two of his own delightful cocktail creations along with a lovely happy anniversary dessert to help make our already perfect evening even better. Thank you Zack you are an absolute gem :-)
We will be back to sample more of your cocktails soon!
Lovely room although no view. Great facilities - aircon, fan, iron, kettle and coffee machine. Amazing shower. Comfortable bed.
No car park. No fridge in room.
Room was comfortable and clean with a lovely bathroom and shower. Great breakfast and a good evening menu. Restaurant staff very attentive Very crowded bar in the evening and noisy but couldn't hear the noise in the room. Very centrally located and great for all local amenities.
Lighting system was most strange and I never got to grips with the way the lights worked, no slot to turn lights on with the key card. I think this is most strange lighting system I have seen in a room for awhile. No information in the room. There are a lot of stairs and a very long corridor to some of the rooms, I would have preferred something with fewer stairs. if you aren't keen on stairs then you need to make that clear. There is a lift but not to all floors and areas
Came in for a drink on an averagely busy Friday evening, and as ever despite a plethora of hard working young bar staff it took a while to get served. This is a recurring occurrence as a local who has visited the bar here regularly over the last 9 months.
The renovations have been done tastefully (except the clearly erroneous framed retro style ‘wool’ poster, which was clearly an AI pick rather than from someone who grew up in Cirencester and has seen NZ….). But I hope that this latest incarnation is not let down by absent management, much like the last couple of attempts.
The words Brakspear, up, and brewery spring to mind.
The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and central to Cirencester itself…a beautiful market village. Food and service at the pub downstairs was excellent, the staff were great. We loved our stay at Kings Head.
Unfortunately the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The bed had a significant dip in the middle and the pillows were as flat as pancakes.
Location is fantastic
Receptionist was quite “abrasive” when she asked us why we asked about car parking. The hotel advertise it and my car registration was asked for when checking in on line, so why wouldn’t I ask 🤷♂️
we stayed for 2 nights unfortunately our first room was not at all good smelt damp looked out onto a wall and no hot water at all through the hand basin. I could not get hold of anyone on reception when we discovered the problems as it was around 11.30 pm , the next morning we managed to speak to reception and they promptly moved us to a lovely room which was an upgrade
room 312 not good at all
beautiful historic hotel in a prime spot in centre of town , spacious and spotless rooms , great food , the bar and lounge areas are cosy and inviting .will use this place everytime im in town
It’s a lovely old property, very centrally located and there is nearby reasonably priced parking.
No issues!
A lovely hotel in the heart of cirencester.
Room was very spacious and clean.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our room was at the back overlooking the courtyard where peoplw took out their drinks to smoke so it was noisy. Luckily it was Winter so people didn’t stay out long!
