Thoroughly recommended for lunch
Pros:

We had lunch here with our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons from Australia having first visited the Abbey. The two boys, aged 10 and 12 had the two course children’s menu which was outstanding value while the rest of us shared a variety of starters, all of which were beautifully cooked and presented. Service was friendly and efficient although a little on the slow side.

Don't hesitate to book
Pros:

Location ideal, first impressions excellent. I had asked for a quiet room so was surprised to have been put in a room above the outside terrace. I felt that 20 people were in the bedroom with me. Asked to be moved, which I was, to the top floor, on the hottest day of year with no air con - but quiet enough :(. Food was excellent in the bistro for dinner and at breakfast. Audrey and her team at breakfast were super friendly and efficient, please pass on praise as its hard to keep good staff. Girl on reception not welcoming or chatty at anytime coming and going except when I left! I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Kings Head is the King.
Pros:

We had a delicious hot meal and the service was excellent. We wish we had eaten here on a previous occasion rather than going to The Fleece - where we were fleeced!! We would definitely eat here again. Superb.

Anniversary weekend
Pros:

We stayed at the kings head on Saturday 20th June. We started with coffee in the courtyard went out for an explore of Cirencester which was lovely. Then back to kings head for some drinks (live music was a bonus). We also ate in the restaurant and had a nice meal before having a good night sleep and a nice breakfast in the morning.
Recommend staying here if you are visiting Cirencester.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay!
Pros:

The room, bed and bathroom were spacious and comfortable: a pleasure to be in and the cookies were a very nice touch! The bar and brasserie areas were ideal for being both in a large group and smaller groups.
Bar staff were so helpful when we requested wine coolers to fill with water to keep our flowers fresh!

Cons:

I had to go out and buy a shower cap as there wasn't one provided and I'd forgotten mine. There wasn't any (requested) decaf tea nor enough (requested) decaf coffee. I prefer a little fridge with real milk in it - again, we went out to buy some and kept it on the window sill.
I find those fiddly hangers annoying - a real hanger is much easier to use.

Awful Meal
Pros:

We’ve had some lovely family meals here, but yesterday it was atrocious.

Highlights were scallops as hard as rocks and an expensive “wagyu burger” which was also overcooked and on closer inspection was not a wagyu burger at all, it was a standard frozen burger.

I returned the burger to reception and asked to see the manager twice, to no avail. I then left my telephone number & email address, nobody has contacted me.

Sad really because a simple apology would have been fine, these things happen sometimes, maybe the regular chef was away.

You’ve now lost a regular customer.
