Please take into consideration that Tikal National Park is located in a remote location in the jungle. There are no common electricity, telephone, or internet connections. The Hotel provides its own electricity via a power generator, with certain hours of operation. Telephone service is Satellite-based (charge applies) Internet connection is satellite-based, connection subject to weather conditions which may disrupt connection at times.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. All the staff was so kind and helpful. The food was excellent. Check in was easy and very accommodating. Communication before our arrival was really helpful as far as park entrance and tours.
I did not know about the power outage hours per park regulations, it was fine and did not effect our stay. If it was hotter, not having a ceiling fan or AC might make sleeping a little more uncomfortable. Thanks for nets over beds to keep geckos from visiting. Also our shower drained really slow.

El lugar y su entorno es magnífico
We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad bij Hotel Tikal Inn! Het is een groot, historisch hotel midden in de jungle, waardoor je je echt omringd voelt door de natuur en de vele dieren.
Wij verbleven hier twee nachten. Op aanraden van de manager maakten we op onze eerste dag een drie uur durende wandeling door de jungle om dieren te spotten. Er was zelfs een jaguar met twee welpjes (helaas hebben wij die zelf niet gezien). Na de wandeling kun je heerlijk ontspannen bij het zwembad, terwijl je ondertussen de vogels en andere dieren om je heen hoort en ziet.
Op onze tweede dag deden we de Sunrise Tour met Jessica. Zij wist ontzettend veel over zowel de geschiedenis van de tempels en de Maya’s als over de dieren en natuur in de jungle. Ze was ontzettend lief, nam uitgebreid de tijd voor ons en had antwoord op al onze vragen.
Wij vonden het dan ook zeker de moeite waard om in Tikal zelf te overnachten, al is het alleen al vanwege de mogelijkheid om zo’n privé Sunrise Tour te doen. We zagen mensen die vanuit Flores kwamen en met een hele grote groep de Sunrise Tour deden. Voor ons doet dat echt onder voor de ervaring van wakker worden midden in de jungle en de tempels te bezoeken met een lokale gids in een kleinere, persoonlijke setting.
Het hotelpersoneel deed er alles aan om ons verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken. Het zijn bovendien ontzettend interessante mensen om mee te praten en we hebben ons heel welkom gevoeld. De stroom is inderdaad alleen op bepaalde tijden beschikbaar, maar voor ons was dat absoluut geen probleem en het paste eigenlijk juist goed bij de authentieke ervaring.
Als je op zoek bent naar een bijzondere en authentieke ervaring in Tikal, zouden wij Hotel Tikal Inn zeker aanraden!
Tijdens ons verblijf was het water van het zwembad groen door regenval, we konden echter wel gewoon zwemmen
El hotel está ubicado justo en medio de la selva, a unos 5-10 minutos andando de la entrada del Parque. Las instalaciones estan muy bien y la comida también. Merece una mención especial la gerente del hotel, la Sra. Ortiz, que en todo momento estubo pendiente de nosotros e incluso, nos ayudó cuando en el vuelo de ida perdimos un objeto valuoso que logramos recuperar. Todo fue genial!!!!! Lo recomendamos 100%! Volveremos

Le falta una manito de gato de modernización, pero las habitaciones son correctas, limpias y con el equipo justo.
El personal és super agradable. Començant per recepció, fins a restaurant i cambreres. Es van adaptar a la meva dona que és celíaca amb opcions. Vam contractar el tour del amanecer a Tikal amb ells i la nostre guia Jessica ens va fer tenir un dels nostres millors moments del viatje. Te una passio molt gran i coneixements de la arqueologia i historia Maya. Ens va respondre a totes les preguntes i va ser super atenta i enriquidora. També domina molt de animals i flora de la selva de Tikal. Esperem tornar aviat i ho recomanarem molt!
Les instalacions son antigues.
Een geweldige plek midden in het nationale park van Tikal. Je hoorde apen vanuit je hotelkamer en er liepen voor de deur neusbeertjes. Het zwembad is geweldig om af te koelen en baantjes te trekken. Het personeel is ook erg vriendelijk. Ook erg fijn als je de sunrise tour wil doen, binnen 4 minuten sta je bij de ingang van het park.
Het is er erg warm en er is geen AC. De bedden zijn erg smal en hard waardoor wij het 's nachts extra warm hadden omdat je dus dicht tegen elkaar aan ligt zonder AC of fan.
I needed to leave a review on this location. The location is wonderful, inside Tikal Park. Everyone was kind and helpful. My biggest negative was that we booked a sunrise tour with our 4 kids. They asked us to be at the front desk by 3:45 am. We have two 5 year olds that were troopers and we all were up and ready at the appointed time. We sat and waited, and waited. Our Spanish is limited but they verified that the guide was on their way. At around 4:45 one of the hotel staff finally came and drove us to the entrance of the park. With my limited Spanish I overheard that they arranged with a guide going in to take us in their group. We were the last group going in and as such, the guide was booking it through the forest to make it to the location on time. Our poor little 5 year olds were basically running/speed walking the whole way, which wasn't a short distance. They were unhappy and we arrived last with limited seating at the ruins. I was very bugged because we could have had a leisurely walk through the forest if we actually had been given the guide we paid for. The sunrise tour was amazing, and the tour guide that we ended up with was fantastic, but the experience getting there was quite frustrating. If my Spanish had been better, I would have asked for a refund for the tour, or a partial refund, as their mistake made part of the tour quite unpleasant. So I am leaving a review here, just as a beware. I'm not sure what we could have done differently. We verified the tour upon arrival the day previous, and I'm not sure if they had a tour guide that just didn't show up or if they forgot to schedule one.
L’endroit et la gentillesse du personnel
Hotel Tikal Inn was a wonderful place to stay and explore Tikal! It was super convenient to be situated in the park, and cool to hang around the grounds of the Inn and listen to the sounds of the jungle. The host was extremely communicative and flexible, and helped me book transport to and from Flores airport. Room was spacious and clean, and the pool and restaurant amenities made for a very comfortable stay. All staff were pleasant and helpful. I booked the sunrise guided tour of Tikal and guide Jessica was fabulous. Her depth of knowledge of and passion for the history of Tikal and Mayan civilization blew me away. Thank you Jessica! Would 100% recommend Hotel Tikal Inn.
I didn’t know this ahead of time but electricity only works at certain times which means there is no fan at night.
