Hotel Lucent

Overall, good experience.
Pros:
1. Just next to Safeway so a great location.
2. On site parking available.
3. Small perks such as water dispenser (which usually is not available anywhere). Free Starbucks drinks, yet limited choices.
4. Small swimming pool and fireplace

Cons
1. My AC was not working and I had to adjust with loud portable AC. They just had no other option.
2. Breakfast choice was almost zero. It’s for namesake but that is true almost everywhere.
3. Single bed was too small. I am 5’11 yet my legs would always hang out

We stayed at the Lucent on two occasions on this trip. The first was for 8 nights, 7/11-7/19. The second was for 2 nights, 7/31-8/2. This property/ parking felt very safe and secure. I am a coffee drinker and appreciated the 24-hour coffee service. The complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. Safeway is right next door! The location to Stanford Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, was very convenient. Depending on traffic, door to door we could be there within 7 minutes. We did enjoy the quick walk to all the fabulous restaurants and shopping Main Street, Menlo Park. Eve and the entire team at Hotel Lucent made us feel at home (like family) during our stay. The firepit seating and spa/pool courtyard area is charming!!! The fitness center is set up just right for a quick workout.

Was pleasantly surprised by the property. Very beautiful internal courtyard with a fire pit and hot tub. Extremely friendly staff and great breakfast.

Charming hotel in Menlo Park that was perfectly located for my work-related event. The staff was very friendly, my room was well-appointed and clean and the breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again.

Not as nice as the pictures led me to believe. The hotel felt less like a boutique and more like a budget motel.

Cons:
Upon arrival I was informed that the AC was broken in my room and there would be no attempt made to fix it. There were no other rooms available to move to. I ended up sleeping with the windows open both nights I stayed, which was out to a patio anyone could have accessed.

The gym is the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel.

Very strong smell of cleaning products which I associate with lower end hotels.

Pros:
The room and bathroom was decent. The staff was nice. It’s centrally located in Menlo Park.

Clean, comfortable, and a little nicer than expected — Hotel Lucent was the perfect weekend getaway spot. Complimentary breakfast with yogurt/granola, mini-croissants and a weird auto-pancake maker was swell, enjoyed the 24/7 free coffee in the lobby, and the great walkable location. Minor hiccup: One nightstand outlet wasn't working but the front desk swore they'd have it fixed and I believe them. Would absolutely stay again!
