The staff was really polite and friendly. Check in was a BREEZE! I just filled out a card indicating what kind of breakfast I wanted and when I wanted the staff to clean my room and I was ready to get to my room. Check out was also super easy. I find that with these kind of adult hotels, check in and out and leaving and re-entering the room can be kind of a hassle. So i was super pleased with the processes here.
The cleaning staff did a great job, the bathroom, the bed, and the general space was tidied up well. We got fresh towels and pajamas too.
The hotel room included many amenities and different kinds of body wash, face wash, and lotions. There was a pijama set for the two of us. We got a room with a massage chair. The TV also had netflix, karaoke, and VODs. It was easy to order food and drinks from the TV. The room included a water dispenser with hot and cold water.
The temperature, humidity, and air quality was perfect. I was comfortable all night long and never felt too cold or too hot. We also liked leaving the music on on low volume to help us ease into sleep.
The sound proofing is GREAT.
The hotel is a little far from the station and general things you can do, but there is free parking and its easy to find if you take a taxi. We came by car so I was happy to have a secure parking area.
I am so happy I changed hotels to this one. I would definitely stay here again if I ever make another trip to Kyoto.
The room smelled a little smoky, but it can't be helped since the room allows smoking, and I know that kind of smell is hard to completely eliminate. That being said, it was only a slight smell. It wasnt overwhelming nor did it deter from my comfortability in the room.
The tub light didnt work and the VOD feature on the bath's TV was under maintenance, but those were more slight inconveniences and not nessesary for my experience.
The one thing that was a little upsetting (only slightly) was that we didnt get free food or drinks. Supposedly overnight and short stay guests get 1 free drink and 1 free food per guest, but when I tried ordering ice cream for us, we got a call that there would be a charge, which to be fair, the TV also said the order was placed but didnt say it was placed as a "free food". I did the same the 2nd night and also had to pay but it was only ¥800 for 2 orders of ice cream so its fine. But i was excited to eat my free dessert and maybe order a drink after.
Very huge room with so many luxury items such as massage chair, flatscreen TV, WiFi, huge shower as well as bathtub, and my favorite the different light settings for the room.
The location was a little a ways from food and other busy locations which was about my only criticism.
