This historic Inn has comfortable beds, is very clean, helpful & friendly staff. Bagged breakfast was very good.
My husband and I had driven by the Winnedumah on our way to Tahoe. We finally had the opportunity to stay here. We really enjoy older hotels and Bed and Breakfasts so this is right up our alley. We loved lounging in the lobby and talking with Robert, Cindy and Derrick. We look forward to the “Reincarnation “ of the Winnedumah!
It’s very historic and beds and blankets are very comfortable
This hotel per the sign outside was established in 1927. Since I am a historian I appreciate a piece of history. It was interesting to stay in a hotel built so long ago. The Innkeeper in the morning was a lovely lady, and mentioned the hotel is in the process of being restored.
It was nice to have a real fire place with a fire lit in the evening. The bed was comfortable with soft sheets and blankets. In the morning, the breakfast was brown bag due to Covid, but generous with breakfast for two and I had snacks for the rest of the day.
If you love old things and appreciate history, this is a place to check out. The hotel as the Innkeeper said, is a Grand Old Lady, and I would be interested to see her restored to her former glory.
This was such a unique stay! Loved the lobby and how they kept the historic quality to the entire location. As an interior designer I loved walking throughout the space and admiring the architecture of the location. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Great amenities in the room. My only issue to the location was our bed. The bed had a vintage squeak to it but on the one side it was horribly squeaky. Getting in and out we were worried we were going to wake the whole hotel. Great pillows and blankets but not the best sleep for us.
Dirty, Old, No Micro, No hair drier, Unclean restroom- Disgusting. Even Expensive.
Nothing to use ..Worst Hotel. Not Hotel but just Barn.
Beautiful lobby but rooms need renovation
Such a unique place,it was like staying in an old west hotel. With it's squeaky wood floors, long hallways and with views of the mountains
Interesting antique room. No blow dryers or ironing board/iron because it stress the older electrical wiring, I was told. Plenty of hot water, tough to get upstairs if you have luggage due to no elevator. Breakfast was cold served in a sack, so not a true bed and breakfast. Interesting history.
Historic, great old lobby with books on the local area
This historical hotel was clean and quiet and had a certain charm. The rooms are on the small side, as rooms of that era are, but it had enough room and the bathroom is also big enough. The beds and linens are high quality. Best of all the staff was extremely helpful.
It was refreshing to stay in a 100 year old property instead of a cookie-cutter hotel room. The staff were upfront about the condition of the property - leaky faucets, no TV, etc., so we knew exactly what to expect.
Nowhere near Sequoia or Kings Canyon. Good hiking in area. Management couple, Cindy and Derek, wonderful source of information. Older but charming hotel. Renovation starting soon. Room had window ac unit keeping it cool. No TV in hotel, Wi-Fi worked only in lobby area. Would stay there again.
We arrived very late. The instructions we’re clear about how to obtain our key. Everything felt safe and secure .The hotel is historic and reflects yes. The property owners are very nice and welcoming people. We would definitely stay here again. Can’t wait to see the rehab to this historic building!
Would stay again any time - a friendly welcome, a big soft bed, a surprising ambience that celebrated the earlier times of the Owen's Valley. Don't visit if you expect a generic modern motel/hotel, but do go if you appreciate a more historic & quirky location.
Nice historical site. Enjoy it every time I'm on business in the area. Friendly staff
94 yearvold hotel. Wooden floors thru out hotel. Antiques furniture
Just a wonderful place. Very friendly staff and nice if basic rooms. Very nice common area.
It was a really unique hotel with lots of character, although they need to address issues with air conditioning. Very clean and friendly
Lovely couple are in-process of renovating historic hotel as a B&B. At the moment continental breakfast is provided in a bag since most customers appear to be hikers (including me).
