Istankoy Hotel

Small family hotel right in the centre of Bodrum. Nice atmosphere friendly efficient restaurant and food 😋 delicious without being expensive.

Love it there . Decent rooms , decent breakfast , good position , decent evening / daytime menu , staff excellent . Big spoil is we could only go by Jet2 and flight times are terrible .

The hotel is in a great location and near everything. The hotel is friendly and relaxed and lots of the guests are regulars and you can make friends easy here. Our room was small, dark and very dirty. The bathroom had not been cleaned when we arrived. Bed was clean (ish). Stayed in room 508 for 2 nights only before moving to a superior room (at an extra cost) which was much better! The smell of drains in 508 was sickening in the night !! The breakfast is repetitive but we ate, the omelettes are freshly cooked which is a nice touch. The hotel is in need of a full refurbishment, everything apart from the superior rooms is very tired and dated now. There is smoking everywhere, lots of coughing from lots of guests and the hotel staff chain smoking, it was like being in a drs waiting room with all the coughing. The bar and restaurant staff are lovely and do work hard. The restaurant food is actually quite good and we did eat here a few times. We enjoyed our holiday despite the negativity around our first room visiting gumbet, betiz and doing a boat trip.

The pool has a jacuzzi but it hasn’t worked for two years apparently so maintenance is not a priority.

Some broken sunbeds, I moved them to the back and the cleaners put them back complete with pigeon poop! Say no more, that’s without the parrot setting off at 6am thinking he’s a cat. There are lots of cats and we actually love that about this hotel and turkey generally.

The hotel is in a central location, everything is good, the breakfast is good, the pool is good, but there is a problem that it is very noisy at night, which reduces the quality of sleep.

The hotel is in a great location very close to the harbour and the hustle and bustle of the shopping bizaar. The WiFi was decent throughout our stay , the food and drink ( beer) was reasonable but the cocktails were over 8 pounds and only in a smallish glass which we thought was pricey. The breakfast was a standard Turkish breakfast not really to our tastes however a lady was doing eggs/ omelettes which were nice. Now for the bad stuff the room we had was small with a tiny shower cubicle and balcony which I simply couldn’t through the door because it was so small. We complained the room was too small and was moved to slightly bigger room but no balcony making it dark and dingy but at least it was bigger. At 8am the maid who was rude and didn’t try to communicate with us huffed and puffed if we refused her entry being that it was so early. The pool is small and so close to any diners or drinkers it just didn’t work, with only a few sunbeds worth having around the pool they seemed to get bagged very early doors so never had one around the pool. We travelled to gumbet and bitez for the beach which we found much better. Not forgetting the resident parrot who starts squawking 6 am ish which basically woke us up everyday. All in all would I stay here again bearing in mind it was fairly cheap and the answer is no I’d go to gumbet or bitez nearer the beach

The hotel is a 45 minute transfer from the airport, and is located on the outer edge of town, and is a 5 minute walk to the fairly narrow shingle beach, there are free public beaches with wicker shades or be prepared to pay for a sunbed!
There’s plenty of shopping in town, plus lots of good and varied cafes and restaurants, a good deal with beach front dining!
There is plenty of attractions, the castle is worth a visit, as are the boat trips, you can even go to Kos on the ferry, but if you want a view, don’t go on the catamaran, as the windows are misted with seawater and you cannot see anything!
The hotel is great with relaxed eating areas and bar, and very friendly and attentive staff, and the food is very good, as were the included breakfasts, my only gripe was our room was small and in need of updating, and wasn’t particularly clean, we bought some cleaning supplies to gib it a once over!
But definitely visit Bodrum, you will not be disappointed!!
Plus plenty of cats ☺️

This has been one of many visits to this hotel. As usual, the service is excellent, the food is divine and the accommodation is clean but basic. The hotel is central to the city and is hard to beat. The staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. I cannot praise this hotel more highly.

We're just back, Hotel Istankoy is a great hotel, avoid the poolside rooms if you dont want the bar noise, food was great at breakfast with a big selection offered....omelettes, scrambles and fried eggs with breads, meats and cheeses.
The staff couldn't be friendlier and they will do anything they can to assist.
Close to the sea front, restaurants and shops, 15 mins walk to the ferry to Kos.
Ideal location for exploring, not many sunbeds but loads of hotels and bars let you use theirs for free.

I cannot praise this hotel enough. The staff and management were absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble. We had some problems that were not with the hotel bur which they do sorted out immediately.

Loved our stay here! Brilliant location close to main beachfront, restaurants and shops. Hotel was spotlessly clean, room was lovely with a really comfy king-size bed! Staff are amazing and the bar and pool area are fab. Looking forward to coming back next year. Mark and Jen room 905

Hotel muito antigo. Parece um resort Américano dos anos 70.
Mais os quartos são confortaveis e modernos. Boa localização da para ir a pé para o centro.

J ai passé 6 nuits en chambre triple c étais tooop merci pour votre accueil et service c étais à la hauteur, hotel propre emplacement idéal personnel professionnel, petit déjeuner varié.

The breakfast was good with a large selection of delicious food.

Tutte era molto bello lo staff molto accogliente e disponibile la stanza gigantesca l'hotel vicinissimo al centro città ed attaccato al mare e la colazione era di più di quello che mi aspettavo

Atmosfera, staff super Friendly, rispetto ba quella prenotata, ma siamo stati comunque bene, la pulizia, la posizione e soprattutto lo staff livello professionale top!
Torneremo sicuramente.
