I stayed with them 3 days/2nights. The room rate was very cheap. Location is perfect. Around u can find nice restaurants and coffee shops. Breakfast was included ( but unfortunately didn't have time to try it).
Room was small, furniture old but it was very clean.
Nice people in reception..good locaion. Good for the money you pay.u do recommend the place for low budget. Very close to the sea and the rock.good bars nearby.there are families who prefer this place.
Very bad place no good at all sweeping pool was empty no water
Huone oli kulunut, mutta siisti. Varaussivustoilla mainittu minibaari tarkoitti tässä tapauksessa tyhjää jääkaappia. Parvekatta varjosti rannan ja hotellin välissä olevat korkeammat rakennukset. Sijainti oli hyvä rantakatua ja Hamraa ajatellen. Aamiainen oli riittävä, tosin paikalliseen tapaan suht vaatimaton.
good location , nice hotel and clean and good staff are working in the hotel , but near to the hotel has renovation and have a bad sound in the morning , and bad view because hight building are on front of the hotel
Dåligt säng hygien i toalett smuts dåligt toalett stål och sönder dåligt duch slang mycke fukt i toaletten bra frukost fans parkering
They charged me 90$/night and I've got to say it is so much for that price... the Internet is very slow. ... music is always playing loudly i the hallways and i can hear it in my room all the night.. the tv only have about 5 ~6 channels and it displays them poorly and blurry and did i mention that most of them in french. ... the fridge is off and have nothing in it the air conditioner makes noises alot!.... I've been to hotels that charges less than that and gives you more than this hotel could offer
Recently my husband and I stayed there for a friends wedding. We booked with an online service and paid for the room for two nights online. Firsty, when we arrrived they put us in the wrong room, we had paid extra for their deluxe suite they did however sort that out after we complained. Although the deluxe room wasnt much nicer than the standard anyway. It was run down, dirty and several things were broken such as the shower and the air conditioning. We had also paid for breakfast and when we went down in the morning we were told there was no breakfast on that day! It was 0930 in the monring! We knew it was budget but considering we paid $150 per night I was expecting something a little nicer. The hotel has obviously fallen on hard times.
The worst and most traumatic thing was when we went to check out they demanded that we pay them cash for the stay! We explained and showed them the receipt from the company we booked online with, the manager them became abusive and shouted at us and was physically pushing and holding my husband down. Him and the other male staff took our luggage away from us and refused to give back until we paid them cash. We tried reasoning with them, even called the booking company who spoke to the manager and confirmed that we had indeed paid. When we tried to call the embassy (Im Australian and my husband is British) they took our phones off us. The only way we got out of there was by giving them the cash. It was the worst ordeal of my life, and ruined the whole of the Beirut trip.
I stayed there several times whenever I'm on a budget! They started giving us a discount for our stay! Price is the best thing about this hotel. Then its location which is overlooking the infamous rock of Roucheh! Especially if you are staying in the corner suites 305, 405 or 505. Breakfast isn't that great with limited selections but overall this is what you expect for the price you pay.
I really like it! I stayed there in August 2011 for 8 days. I travelled alone I had a double room. I am very picky when it comes to cleaning and I usually take with me cleaning products and I first disinfect everything. At The Diplomat I didn`t need to do that. Everything was so clean. The furniture was pretty new and in very good condition, the AC was efficient and not noisy at all. My room had the view to the sea. There is Internet in the lobby and up to the 3rd floor. I liked the position also, next to the Pigeon rocks and 5 min driving to downtown or Hamra street. Quiet zone, with good places to eat very well and very cheap just few blocks away. The staff is friendly and willing to help you, just need to ask. Everyone makes your staying there very good. I gave them 4 and not 5 cause of the breakfast which was everyday the same. I don`t complain, I liked it, but some diversity would bring them a plus. Otherwise I was so satisfied about this hotel and I would definitely stay again there. Many thanks to all the staff of The Diplomat! Until the next time, all the best from Canada!
