Pros:

Staff was amazing and very helpful. Stephane the manager helped us when we had a problem with our bathroom and moved us to another even nicer room. Very nice breakfast actually the best we had in Sulawesi.
The dinner menu could be more extensive and a bit lower in the price as compared with other places it’s quiet pricey. We can recommend to stay at janji laut!

Peaceful paradise
Pros:

Janji Laut was the perfect place to unwind and relax. It was breathtakingly beautiful, everyone was so friendly and attentive and it felt as if we had the place to ourselves. The food was very good and the breakfast was the best! If ever we are in the region we will visit again!

Pros:

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Janji Laut. The Indonesian staff were friendly and always made sure we had what we needed and the management was very attentive. The accomodations were great and the views of the local bay, especially sunset, were spectacular. The dive staff were very flexible in addressing our needs but be sure to wear a t-shirt and shorts over your bathing suit if you go snorkeling in the middle of the day - even great sunscreen is no match for the combination of mid-day sun and water (my daughter and I got terribly sunburned after an hour plus of snorkeling covered in sunscreen). The food was great - if there is any problem it is that the portions are way too big and I ate too much!
Thanks for the wonderful memories! We hope to be back some time!

Pros:

I chose Janji Laut specifically because it was farther outside the main city of Manado, but this does mean that there were no other restaurants or shops within walking distance of the resort. However, the food at the resort was delicious! I was the only guest at the resort for most of my stay there, but the staff were very amenable and served my meals whenever I was ready for them, accommodating any requests I made. I loved sitting out on the porch of my room to read. The room was very clean and well-kept. I'm not able to upload photos from my computer, but the grounds were beautiful - what you see on the site here is what you get! It was pretty far from Manado and there was no TV in the room, but I was not looking for these things. It was a very peaceful place and exactly what I was looking for.

Perfect place to chill out
Pros:

We stayed here for two nights, at the end of a two week trip through Sulawesi. We wanted comfort, good food, relaxed atmosphere and a bit of peace and quiet, before going back home. Well we hit the jackpot!
Stephane made sure we were well looked after. And the food, it was absolutely devine. The grounds are very well maintained. We could not fault the Janje Laut. I will throw in one negative, for balance. Its not for those who can't climb steps.
Thanks to the team for caring for us

Great resort to stay
Pros:

The Janji Laut is a nice and quiet resort with a very attentive staff, food is great and since it is very small, Janji Laut is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for some peace. We liked it a lot and can highly recommend it!

Pros:

The resort it self is great. But there were to many small problems with the service. And the staff weren’t able to fix it themselves but we had to contact the manager several times. For instance, no toilet paper, took over 3 hours to fix. The water stopped working in the bungalow, staff said they would fix but we had to contact the manager to get it sorted. We rented a motorbike for three days, all the sudden it was gone, the owner had taken it to town. A shame, cause otherwise it is a nice resort with a great pool area.

Great boutique resort
Pros:

If you want a peaceful discrete boutique resort with a beautiful pool, great snorkelling straight off the beach, excellent diving spots nearly, lovely grounds, good food, and friendly staff then this is the place for you. If you want to party into the small hours, hang out watching sports on TV in the bar, and go jet skiing, then this is not your place. This is a small quiet place to unwind, and relax surrounded by beautiful grounds, with lots of great swimming, snorkelling and diving. It is run by a french family that gives the place a homely warm atmosphere. Diming is based on a fixed menu - no buffet nor a la carte - but the food is based on local ingredients (particularly sea food) and is of high quality. In short this is a great place to stay if you want to unwind. If you want to party go somewhere else.

A date with the ocean
Pros:

We spent about one week at Janji Laut over New Year and had a wonderful time.
The resort had its own Fireworks at the pier where you can see millions of stars if the sky is clear at night. Really beautiful.
The owners and staff are extremely friendly and courteous and you immediately feel you are in good hands.
The accommodation was really nice and offers all you need including warm water. I really liked the bathroom which was very modern and cozy. The porch has comfortable couches to relax in and listen to the ocean. The entire resort is a beautiful garden that hosts exotic birds, butterflies, plants and flowers, a little stream and swimming pool. A really fantastic place that we even got to have all for ourselves after New Years when all the other guests checked out.
The resort hosts a diving school with really friendly and calming staff which was perfect for a beginner like me. The house reef is just near the pier and already offers a great underwater world to see. Further diving spots are close by and are absolutely stunning.
What I liked is that the owners are very conscious about the environment. They do not use massive loads of toxics to kill friendly bees that are around or mosquitos who do no harm anyways. They are regrowing corals, because strong waves and winds have destroyed some corals a year ago, and are keen to preserve the beauty of the place.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay.
