First night was appalling. Total lack of communication by management
Pros:

Room was OK, clean and tidy

Cons:

When we arrived at the hotel to book in, we were not told that there would be a party for young adults that night. We arrived back at the hotel around 8.30, after being at a conference all day, to the sound of extremely loud music.
The room we were given was on top of were the music was. We complained, and were moved to another room, which didn't make much difference. By 1pm I went to down to find out how much longer it would be going on for, to be told it was finishing soon.
We should have been told, either when booking the room or on the day, that there was going to be a party.
I had to push to get a refund. The communication was poor by the hotel. I contacted booking.com for further help with the matter, to which we got a refund of a £100 back, which took a month.
As an after note, we had booked 2 nights. The second night another couple complained about the accommodation and received a refund of £30. Would not stay there again

A really nice places, a better shower would have made a huge difference.

Remote country location, and the room

The shower in the room wasn’t very good. The hot water was limited and the water pressure was lacking.

We had a bed and food and it was clise to where we were heading.
Pros:

We like the inn with a place to have a drink and eat and sleep in the one vicinity. The food was lovely.

Cons:

No Wifi, the shower didn't work. Couldn't charge our drinks on a tab. A little understaffed for a long weekend.

Out the back by the stream you could almost forget you are next to the A4.

Breakfast was a plated croissant and roll with a box of cereal. However no bowl or milk.

Comfortable hotel, friendly staff, value for money.
Pros:

Room was comfortable and clean. Good bedding and bathroom facilities

Cons:

In our room (5) we could hear a door slamming directly under our room. It stopped in late evening so I guess it was something to do with the kitchen. No hot breakfast available.

Convenient and comfy with friendly staff - a good country location

Good location - easy to find as on main London Road.
Comfy country pub, popular with locals.
Good local real ale.
Friendly staff.

Cons:

Had to find my own way in at 10.40 on a saturday night as main building was shut - would've been fine if I was told about the rear door earlier...

Nice place (apart from A4 traffic noise). No breakfast was a nasty surprise.

Very good food - but small portions

Cons:

No one has old me they didn’t serve breakfast. I’m going n an 8 day long distance fund raising run so I have to set off for 14 miles with no breakfast. I would have booked elsewhere if I’d been informed.
