Seyara Holiday Resort

I’m sure this review will contradict those previous, but basically I did not like this place straight from arrival. The manager/desk man was condescending, we had to wait for our room, the room was basic in the extreme, poor quality bedding and towels, an ancient bed and threadbare mattress. The room had thin walls with a lot of noise from next door. Ordering food had a 45 min delay, although the (very basic) eating area was deserted. We did not stay at this hotel, we moved elsewhere locally, same price, much better.

Offers a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Located outside of town (will need to take a Tuk Tuk) but a great location for peace and quiet. Breakfast is very good/filling and dinner offers a nice selection of food which was very good. Highly recommend.

Herzlicher Empfang mit Fruchtsaft Welcome Drink. Schöne geräumige Zimmer, Bad ok, kleine gemütliche Terrasse. Gutes Frühstück aber scheusslicher Kaffee! Abendessen kann man auf Wunsch ebenfall im Hotel. Gute Lage, leicht zu finden und gute Parkmöglichkeit. Für den Preis absolut empfehlenswert auch wenn nicht alles perfekt ist.

Decent hotel for the money, friendly and helpful staff. They could make a batter job maintaining the hotel.

Lovely little hotel, run by a local family. Service was great, sometimes slow but this is normal in Sri Lanka. Few problems with water in rooms cutting out, but they were quick to fix this when it happened. Great food.

Hotel is great value for money. Lovely dinner buffet. Great clean pool. Friendly and helpful staff, be sure to ask them what to do in the local area.

Nice place with a delicious pool. Close enough to town. Food is extensive and good.

Enjoyed the buffet dinners of home cooked Sri Lankan curries. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Pool is great.

We found this place recommended on a travel blog, so we booked two nights and are so glad we did! The staff was extremely welcoming, kind and attentive. Upon our arrival, even before starting the check-in process, they invited us to relax by the pool with some tea to help us unwind. Once we were ready, they showed us to our room, which was extremely large and very clean. The pool was clean and refreshing; each time we went down to the pool the staff put out lounge chair pads and towels. We ate dinner here both nights - we ordered Kottu one night and then they specially prepared the Sri Lankan curry for us the next night, both were amazing. Their traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious as well!

The power went out a few times due to some high winds and tree trimming, however the staff was fully prepared and turned on their backup generator. We went out to explore and when we came back there were ants in our sink (probably attracted to the toothpaste). We went down to tell the staff and they immediately came up and took care of the issue. Upon departing we were given a hand drawn map with a few "hidden gems" to stop at before making our way to Anuradhapura. Every time we thought the staff couldn't be more thoughtful, they would surprise us with another kind gesture. A truly great experience, we would highly recommend a stay at Seyara Holiday Resort!

The hotel is a family owned and they are very nice and willing to help. It is very close to the museum and the ancient city. You can choose breakfast from original from Sri Lanka. The hotel was overal clean and pleasant.

Great value and the staff is very helpful.

Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable! Made the stay there great. Owner is a fun grandpa who named the resort after his granddaughter. Very helpful, especially with arranging taxi ride for us to bring us all the way to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Pool was relaxing.

Rigtig dejligt hotel med svømmingpool. Utrolig venligt personale, der var søde til at hjælpe med transport og fortælle om området. De stillede også cykler til rådighed. Der var mulighed for at leje cyklerne en hel dag for 15 kr.

At first they had no documentation of our stay and wasn't expecting us, so I was worried, but after a few minutes there was a room available. The pool area is very nice, but we did not have time to stay for a swim. The power went out a few times but overall the AC was nice and cool. Good breakfast of hoppers.

Le patron est chaleureux, de bon conseil et le personnel est accueillant. Malheureusement le dîner est à fuir. Pour le reste c'est limite.
