The front desk receptionists don't know what customer service is

A really good hotel in a quiet but central location and great value for money - much recommended!
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel twice during the period I was in 'the stans' - once in the junior suite and once in the standard double. The junior suite was lovely - huge and light and airy. But the standard double was also perfectly nice too and was a pretty good size. Both were clean and with good facilities (fridge, safe, kettle). The bathrooms were modern and with good powerful showers. The beds were comfortable and the decor was fine. The wifi was reliable and strong.
One member of the reception staff was delightful (I didn't get his name he often wore a face mask) - he was always smiley and helpful and with excellent English. The others (including the waiting staff) could do with a few hours of charm school though.
The hotel was about a 10-minute walk from a metro which isn't bad, but taxis are really cheap (pre-load Yandex Go which is excellent). It is also around the same walk to the main shopping street of the city. The hotel was well set back from the main road and so was really quiet, and we had no issues with noise from other rooms or corridors. Also there is a small supermarket just meters away which was handy.
Breakfast was included and was good. We didn't use any spa facilities.

Cons:

Whilst tea and coffee were supplied in the room we were given 4 black tea bags. Looking for some green tea bags I went to the restaurant (where tea bags were in abundance) but was told (firmly) not to take any and to go to reception. Reception told me to go to a local shop and buy some. I thought this was pretty mean.

Pros:

Просторный номер. Широкие кровати. Белоснежные комплекты белья, полотенец, постели. Бесперебойный Wi-Fi. Уютный дворик и много зелени. Вкусные и разнообразные завтраки. Профессиональный персонал.

Good deal for the price!
Pros:

Very expensive considering what it is. There are many similar hotels in Almaty that are much cheaper.
