It was not the best and it was just convenient for two days.
Pros:

It was just close and convenient for the reason I came to Houston.

Cons:

The ac units were outdated and the rooms smelled like wet carpet.

I loved how clean the entire building was.

Cons:

My interaction with the front desk assistant was disappointing. I felt that assumptions were made about our ability to manage the reservation based on our age. Despite presenting my confirmation email and proof of payment, I was informed that no reservation could be found and was asked to pay again. When I requested to cancel my reservation and receive a refund, the reservation was suddenly located. The situation was handled in a dismissive manner, including laughter, and no apology was offered.

I have stayed at this property previously without issue, but this recent experience has significantly impacted my perception, and I do not anticipate returning.

Our room was spotlessly clean and so very comfortable! We LOVED the layout of the shower! Innovative and effective!

There was excellent insulation between the bathroom and the bedroom. Couldn't hear the bathroom fan from the bedroom when the bathroom door was closed.

There was ample room in the bedroom and it was thoughtfully laid out. Of particular note was a super cool curved loveseat that was unique, comfortable, and stylish. A great place to snuggle up and read.

Breakfast was typically expensive (no free breakfast), but it did not appear to be freshly cooked. It felt like everything was microwaved or warmed some other way. I was hoping that for $33 for two people, our eggs and bacon would have been freshly made.

Each of the staff members we interacted with were AWESOME! Super helpful, fun, and kind. This made me smile.

The pool was sparkly and had a recirculation pump which kept it fresh.

The lobby was clean and the staff (both evening and morning) were DEFINITELY helpful.
