We did not stay the night at the Holiday Inn Express in Shawnee. . My husband is disabled from a stroke & is on a walker. He was very tired when we checked in. The desk clerk gave us a room that was on the 2nd floor way at the end of the hall. We had asked for a ADA room. Only 1 elevator was working. It was dark & dingy Not a good IHG example
Very confortable,great breakfast,staff great,eating places close .
Nothing

Halls were not clean. Bathrooms need maintenance. Broken tiles & shower needed fixing
Hands down the worst holiday inn we have ever stayed. An elevator was out of service, ice machine on 3rd floor out of service, there was food under the mattress of the hideabed. Room did not feel clean. Hallway felt like we were in the ghetto. I should have taken photos to document.
Nice place to stay
Safe
The breakfast was very good!!
Room was quiet and comfortable.
Breakfast was not appealing- coffee had grounds, milk was questionable, didn't want to go last day.
No nightlight in bathroom. Had to turn on very bright light in middle of night.
Room was clean and neat and comfortable.
Morning coffee was burnt and orange was dark and old tasting.
The parking area was more than adequate, the room was clean and the staff super helpful. This hotel was doing some remodeling so we gave them a lot of grace. Not on the staff.
Parking is pretty inconvenient. Pretty far away from the front door, no matter where you park. Plus you have to walk uphill. The hotel is really not around anything other than a steakhouse. The free breakfast, including the drinks, were really gross tasting. We went down the street to a restaurant called Rize-N-Shine to eat instead. It was amazing there. I would highly recommend that restaurant. The front entrance staff guy was not very friendly when I called on the phone twice. The hotel smell was not the best.
Good things- the rooms seem to be pretty clean and feel pretty large. Both of the rooms we got had small refrigerators and microwaves. The pool was heated.
The property was under construction we found when we checked in. There was only 1 elevator that worked and it was very slow to go up and down 4 floors and the door was very quick to close before you could get in or out. The shower in the room was as slick as glass when wet. I almost slipped twice the first night. I inquired about a shower tub mat and was told I had permission to use a wash cloth to stand on. I had to buy a bath mat to keep from slipping in the shower. The breakfast room was very hot. the coffee was very good and hot. The breakfast was ok the pancake maker was fun to use.
My name had been reversed in the hotel paperwork, but the staff quickly set that right. Breakfast was filling, although presentation could be improved.
Room was clean, bedding appropriate, and shower was great. My wife would have appreciated a hair dryer in the bathroom.
Hotel feels generally tired. It looks like parts have been renovated, but things like carpet haven't, and even the newer looking wallpaper in the bathroom was badly done with huge creases in the corners. One of the elevators was out of service, the lobby was very hot (so not sure if a/c wasn't working, and a window in the breakfast area was shattered still in place. This was our second disappointing experience at a Holiday Inn Express unfortunately.
Staff is amazing. But Hotel had no ac in halls, or main floor it was 82 degrees at night. 3rd floor was shut down and
I liked our big room. My 7-year-old grandson loved having two TVs in the room. We had to pool to ourselves.
The website didn’t tell us the hotel was under construction. The lady at the front desk did when we checked in. We checked into our room and we could hear some of the construction inside our room so we decided to go to the pool. The next morning they started Construction about 9 o’clock I believe. 😏 Our comforter on our bed was dirty. I turned the comfort around put the dirty spot at the foot of the bed instead of in my face.
The next morning the housekeeping was beating on our door. She was ready to clean out the room and we had not checked out yet. My grandson was still sleeping. She did apologize to me. The hotel should’ve given us a discount on our bill.
