We had a great weekend
Pros:

Breakfast best of all hotels we have stayed in at Eastbourne .
Location not as good as ghe View or Lansdowne
but ok for us

Almost perfect but only an 8 due to chaotic breakfast and unexplained additional coffee charge
Pros:

Well located right in the sea front and close to the various amenities of Eastbourne. The hotel itself is an impressive and well maintained Victorian building and has plenty of charm. We found the room and everywhere else very clean. Friendly and helpful staff generally. Quality of breakfast very good.

Cons:

Breakfast service was chaotic and we had to ask for most things twice as it kept getting missed or forgotten. Even then that didn’t work for a sausage that was missed off our order so we gave up. Upon check out we were charged for our coffee and it was explained that as we hadn’t had filter coffee it’s extra. That wasn’t explained to us at the time and I felt it should have been.

Quality hotel, good stay. Nice location.
Pros:

Fine but I wouldn't want to go back - needs a good airing

I would say it's fine but I wouldn't want to go back.
Pros:
The staff were friendly and welcoming particularly the room cleaning team and the dining room staff
-The towels & bed linen were good quality
-The fresh fruit salad at breakfast was tasty
-They let us have a later check out time of 12pm.

-l was instantly disappointed when we stepped into the reception area as it smelt stale and of fried food. The whole hotel needs a good airing &/or air freshener
-It gave off care home vibes, with it's eclectic variety of decor and art work
-Breakfast was disappointing too. It was a shame no part of the breakfast was a buffet
-The porridge was so insipid I couldn't feel any texture in my mouth when I ate it and my poached eggs so raw I left them
-There were no plug sockets near the bed. The only ones in the room were behind the tea and coffee area at the other end of the long room and too low on the wall, so difficult to access/use. More sockets required.
