Kaya's Place

J'avais cru comprendre, à tort, que l'hôtel donnait directement sur la plage. En fin de compte il y avait une route entre les 2 très passante et très bruyante.
On devait avoir 2 lits doubles mais nous n'avons eu qu'un lit dans une pièce de moins de 8m2.
La chambre était au 1er étage et comme mur vers l'extérieur il n'y avait qu'une plaque genre contreplaqué très fine qui était tordue et non jointive.
Dans le détail il était indiqué une salle de bain. Nous n'avons eu qu'une douche et des wc en commun et un lavabo qui donnait dehors.
Le ménage n'a jamais était fait en 3 nuits.

Located on a super busy road with CONSTANT noisy traffic. Not a peaceful place to stay.

Super süßes kleines Zimmer mit Hochbett, nett hergerichtet. Hotel direkt an der Straße, deshalb morgens etwas lauter. Alles in allem hat aber alles gepasst, für eine Nacht vollkommen in Ordnung für den Preis

A mi y mi familia nos fue bien gracias a Dios. Sólo que el agua olía mal o sea no era potable y hizo mucho frío por la noche y no habían cobijas.

Hotel chulo con decoracion colorida y bonita. La habitacion acogedora aunque los colchones un poco finos.

Un lugar adecuado para quienes lo van a usar para desplazarse por la zona o disfrutar de la playa en frente

The hotel is nice, with good view and the room were really clean.
The con, its restaurant, the service is really poor, during our stay there we tried to eat something there but there were nobody to attend us.

La estacia en el hostel fue acogedora esta bien para una noche, la administradora es muy amable!!

Stayed a couple nights and decided to stay again on our way back through Puerto Viejo. Friendly staff, fair price, and close to town

It was do-able

If you're looking for a budget hostel, right on the ocean, this is a great place.
Kaya's is full of amazing art and has such a relaxing vibe.
The owner is a great man and always stopped and spoke with us when he saw us. His son is adorable.
They have a dog, Leia, who walks freely around the hostel. Is she very friendly and calm. There is also a kitty, Ralph, who is a huge suck. He will roll on his belly to get belly rubs.
The room we stayed in was small, but it worked. We mostly spent our days out and about in the town. Our nights we spent on the sitting area, outside our room, on the hammocks.
The food was tasty, but the kitchen staff was slow. The ladies who worked the front desk were great in arranging us taxis when needed.
Now for a few downfalls:
1. When we booked, we were given one price. When we received the confirmation email, we were given a different (but cheaper) price. I emailed them back to confirm this price and asked if it included taxes. I was told that yes, the price was correct and included taxes. When we checked in, it went back to the original price. When I spoke with the lady at the front and showed her the emails, I was told that Jennifer had made a mistake and there was nothing she could do.
2. Our shower was advertised as a hot shower, but we didn't get any hot water. However, most of the time the cold water was welcomed, especially since we didn't have an air conditioned room.

Didn't get to stay, they lost reservation! Offered alternative but with no A/C or breeze was way too hot. Staff was pleasant, does have a lot of uneven surfaces and steps, tripped a number of times in the dark!!

JT, the owner, is an awesome guy. Top notch customer service. Really one of the rare ones in the hotel business that you feel actually cares about your experience there. Even offered to make me up an extra room when the hotel booked up. Kudos JT!

Muy buena atención

Das Hostel befindet sich direkt an der Hauptstraße von Puerto Viejo. Überkehrt man diese ist man schon am schwarzen Sandstrand. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit, die Zimmer sauber, aber einfach (Bad im Zimmer ohne Tür nur ein Vorhang).
Da es nicht direkt im Zentrum liegt, haben wir im dazugehörigen Restaurant gegessen. Lecker!
Außerdem gibt es eine große Auswahl an Bier, welches zum Teil dort selbst gebräut wird

the place looks nice from outside. They seemed to have spent more time decorating The hallways than The rooms. Room was basic. After it rained for couple of hours i started dropping water on my bed! Seriously?! The shared bathroom you will think twice if you want to use. If you have a room facing beachfront (understand main road) get ready that i will be a pretty nosit experience Even with earplugs. Cooking skills at their restaurants are poor. They Charge 8 dollars for lanudry! Def one of The worse places i stayed at.
