Four Seasons Hotel Seoul

This was my first experience with a Four Seasons property, and I suspect it may remain one of the finest hotel stays I have had.

My family stayed in an Executive Suite during our visit. The hotel sits beside Gwanghwamun Square, which many Koreans consider the symbolic heart of Seoul. From here you can see the grand axis that stretches from Gwanghwamun Gate toward Geunjeongjeon Hall (of Joseon Palace) and the presidential office, the Blue House. Behind it rises Bukhansan, unfolding like a folding screen. It is a view that feels both historical and deeply Korean.

The energy of the city is also remarkable in this part of Seoul. From Gwanghwamun a wide boulevard runs in a straight line toward City Hall, Namdaemun, and Seoul Station. This long axis creates a sense of movement and direction that quietly defines the character of central Seoul. The lounge offers another beautiful perspective of the city as well, with views that extend from Namsan toward Gwanghwamun.

Within the hotel itself I was pleased to notice many subtle expressions of Korean aesthetics. The spaces feel refined without trying too hard. The lounge staff were especially impressive. Their training was evident and their manner remained calm and well measured throughout our stay.

I also arranged a visit to the hotel spa for my mother, which she thoroughly enjoyed. It became one of the highlights of our time there. The hotel also provides a thoughtfully curated walking route around the neighborhood. It is a wonderful way to experience the area and to understand why this part of Seoul holds such significance.

If one were deciding where to stay in Seoul, this property would very easily be my first recommendation. The dining options deserve a quiet mention as well.

Everyone there were friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help you. I brought my Pomeranian and everyone treated her with such respect.

There are hotels that provide service. And then there are places that practice hospitality as an art form. The Four Seasons Seoul is firmly in the second category.
Our stay began March 3rd — two nights initially, then we stepped away for a night to do a temple stay nearby. When we came back (on my birthday, no less), the hotel had prepared something genuinely moving: a personalized, thoughtful, and beautifully arranged welcome that none of us expected. It was the kind of gesture that only happens when a team is actually present — paying attention, caring about the details.
I want to name names, because these individuals deserve recognition:
∙ Daisy & Harper (reception) — gracious, composed, and genuinely warm
∙ Rose Kim & Lucia (guest services) — went above and beyond at every turn
∙ Jaden & Matthew — made us feel completely at home in our rooms, thorough and attentive without ever feeling intrusive
And the food — two highlights worth calling out. The breakfast buffet is a true event: lavish, diverse, and delicious enough to rearrange your morning schedule around. The Japanese fusion restaurant is sophisticated and inventive — easily one of the best meals of our entire trip to Korea, and we ate very well throughout.
This is the Four Seasons Seoul: Korean elegance, impeccable attention to detail, and a staff that treats every guest as if their stay is the only one that matters. Worth every moment.

We enjoyed a wonderful four-night stay at the Four Seasons Seoul before embarking on our cruise. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every respect—service, dining, comfort, and overall experience.

Our Deluxe King room on the 20th floor was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally comfortable. The bed and pillows were the best we have ever experienced, and we slept beautifully each night.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and consistently helpful, making us feel truly at home throughout our stay. Having stayed in many five-star hotels around the world, we can confidently say this was among the very best.

Loved everything about this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable and breakfast is extraordinary with Western, Asian and Korean options. The service is warm and hospitable. It's ideally located in a central part of Seoul. If you're a walker, it's possible for you to walk to the main palace as well as Bukchon Hanok Village.

I also highly recommend the Korean scrub experience (which is separately located from the spa at the attached sports club). It's a private experience and very luxurious. Also the speakeasy in the basement is beautiful.

The only disappointment was the nail bar. I reserved a gel mani with nail art, and it took 2.5 hours even though I only got nail art on two fingers. My husband's reaction when he saw them was, "That's it?" (It cost $50 for just the two on top of the cost of the gel mani). I would still get a manicure there because the technician did a very good job, but I don't think she was practiced in doing nail art.

My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights. We had been very excited to to try the Four Seasons Seoul, everything online looked beautiful. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Nothing was particularly horrible, however, this hotel definately did not live up to the standards of a Four Seasons. It was similar to an experience of a low level Marriott.

The service was inconsistent. Some staff were terrific while others were unhappy/unhelpful.

This hotel does not go above and beyond in any way. They stick tight to the terms and are not willing to give a truly special or unique experience unless you pay for it.

Some Examples:
-We were excited for the kids club. However, at check-in were informed its only open on weekends and they charge a fee. (Ofcourse they do)
- Our 5-year old daughter was charged ~$30 for breakfast each day even though she ate almost nothing.
-The room was VERY hot and the AC did not work. We made do with a small fan that they brought.
-No help with luggage or even an offer to help checking when checking out.
-Gym staff were not friendly, would not even make eye contact or smile.
-Breakfast was subpar. (service was inconsistent)
-For a 5-star hotel they nickel and dime you for everything. They charge for toothbrushes etc.
-We booked through Chase's The Edit. No upgrade, small 1-hour late checkout despite rooms being available.
-We had a $100 property credit, the staff informed us the small ~$7 room service charge would not be covered, however the food itself would be... these types of nit picky things are very annoying, especially when paying for a 5-star hotel at this price point. While this is absolutely within the terms of the credit it is just in bad taste.

This Four Seasons is NOTHING like other Four Seasons we have stayed at.

Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. All of the nickel and diming left us wanting to leave. We visit Seoul somewhat frequently and had previously stayed at the Park Hyatt. It was a much better experience and they treated us fantastic.

This was our second stay at the Four Seasons Seoul. In fact, we stayed in the same Palace View Executive Suite as the last time. We reserved an airport pickup which was done very smoothly. We were met at the entrance of the hotel by two staff who ushered us directly to our suite. They remembered that we stayed at this property before which was a nice touch. The check in process in our suite was convenient but I felt it was somewhat forced and cold. A subtle feeling...but it definitely did not give us that relaxed warm feeling. The view from the corner room is exceptional and the reason for us to keep coming here. We could see the Presidential Blue House, Gyeongbok Palace, and the Gwanghwamun area from the suite. The location is the best in Seoul with walking access to all the interesting locations. Right outside the hotel, there are plenty of restaurants where everyday locals eat. The club lounge was nice with great food/drinks.

Like all Four Seasons worldwide, this hotel is excellent in all aspects. No disappointments anywhere. The location of the hotel is excellent and is within walking distance to most of the city’s major attractions. For a tourist, that is the most important convenience.

Everything “almost “

Flawless in absolutely every sense.

The hotel itself is a gorgeous design, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The gym is the largest/best in a hotel l've ever seen, the pool is perfectly maintained, and sauna was just excellent. The room design is beautiful and I think perhaps the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The blackout curtains do their job perfectly (had absolutely no idea what time of day it was when I awoke).

For dining, the breakfast was among the most impressive of any hotel I've seen. Not only the sheer variety, but quality of every item was amazing. Maru, the cafe, has a wonderful wine list and the burger was delicious.

Even it every single one of the remarks above wasn't true, it would still be a 11/10 stay due to the service. I feel confident that any single member of the staff could successfully run their own hotel based on the level of excellence I experienced. The coordination among staff to have bags seamlessly taken from room to storage to taxi saved valuable time, effort, and energy during a short trip. No request is met with "I'm not sure" or "this is the wrong department", but "yes of course" to the point that it feels the entire staff is working the same job: to ensure the guest has a perfect stay.

They succeeded.
