A really nice hotel with very "English" styled rooms, lovely staff, nice atmosphere, and great location. Sadly, I was stuck in traffic and arrived really late, so I was unable to enjoy a nice G&T and meal, but the breakfast was great! As a Brit, it really reminded me of a nice country hotel.
We had a good experience overall with the hotel. The room was nice, the front desk staff were hospitable and accommodating, and the location was great.
Unfortunately, the restaurant/lounge experience was not good. The staff were not friendly, and we waited at our table in the bar area for quite a while before a server came over. The staff seemed overwhelmed even though it did not appear to be very busy, as there were mostly empty tables and the bar was not full. When we requested food to take to our room, we were told no because the kitchen already had enough tickets.
This was especially disappointing considering we paid just under $1,000 per night for our room. I understand that many places increase rates during high-demand times, and this was during graduation weekend; however, the pricing felt excessive. The poor restaurant experience and the extremely expensive room rate are the reasons for the 2-star rating.
Worth every penny! There is a reason the Diamond has remained Chico's premier hotel destination, I don't imagine that will change any time soon. Top tier service from booking to check in and check out, and every place in between. Location is obviously unbeatable. Rooms are quiet, spacious, and impeccably clean to the point you can feel it when you walk in. Love the historic photos on the walls and the overall level of class and feeling of tranquility, even with lots of other guests and events going on. The Diamond is my first reccomendation for my friends and family, and I will be back for sure.
Great breakfast, staff, location.
This will be my place anytime I am visiting.
Stronger shower pressure.
Really nice hotel in downtown. Walking distance to multiple shops and restaurants. Hotel is very clean and inviting. Nice bar and restaurant on site. And the “continental” breakfast was actually a made to order hot meal.
Great location and comfort! Amazing experience! Quiet for a downtown hotel, very clean, great service
Clean comfortable room and amenities. Front desk was very accommodating for an early check in. Food was great and service top notch.
The location is perfect. You will be right in the heart of downtown just a skip and hop to the wonderful Stoble coffee shop and a couple of blocks from campus. Parking was effortless and if you have an electric car you will find charging stations right across the street. We enjoyed Happy Hour in the bar downstairs too with a lovely assortment of basic craft cocktails. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were nice, location was great.
Could not stay long enough
