Pros:

Location, large pool area with towels, outdoor space, nice view from breakfast area nice, gift shop and game area. Overall room and hotel space was comfortable and spacious.

Cons:

Pics on internet show waterslides, no slides. Not sure if replacing slides!? Pool area nice but very dark! Room smelled bad and the door was really hard to open, assuming that's due to moisture. Breakfast area had a decent amount of seating and nice view but set up to obtain breakfast was congested.

Our stay was overall good aside from the marijuana smoke and odor in hallways, elevator, and out on balcony.
Pros:

Close to the bay! Beautiful location.

Cons:

People were smoking cigarettes and marijuana outside. The hallways reaked of marijuana odor and could not enjoy balcony that overlooked bay due to this same odor. Furniture was old. Breakfast was good.

I was not aware they don’t do room service every day, and I had to find out the day we didn’t get room service. I went and asked about it and the attendant was not very nice when I talked to him.

Great place for families, comfortable sized rooms
Pros:

The pool area and outside game area are fabulous for families. Being on the lake was beautiful and fun for kids. Breakfast was great

The property is showing its age. The bathroom had mildew and needed new grouting.

The Worst AmericInn Property Ever!
Pros:

In all my years of being a traveler and a person who has tried a wide variety of hotels, I can safely say that my wife and I experienced the absolute worst Wyndham-AmericInn property ever on our recent stay in Ashland, Wisconsin. Our room was musty/moldy, confirmed by one of the veteran housekeeping staffers. It was totally damp, dark, the bed, mattress, and room furniture might be over twenty years old, and it was really awful. The property was dirty, the kids on the weekend didn't clean the breakfast tables (thank goodness for the wonderful breakfast lady who did on Friday), and everything was generally run down and rotten. Now, for the price point we paid for our stay, this is completely unacceptable. This property needs a big-time renovation, or it needs to be shut down.

Great place to stay
Pros:

The location is amazing. The view of the bay/Lake Superior are amazing. You can watch the sunset and sunrise either from the private beach area or your balcony on the lake side. Everyone is friendly with a laid back atmosphere, rooms are clean, and they are one of two hotels in the area that allows pets.
Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast with sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy. You also had cold cereal choices. Not too bad all around. I would highly recommend.
