Perfectly located!
Pros:

We chose to stay at Kingsville Apartments due to its proximity to Lower Bay Beach and, for us, the location was perfect. A short stroll from the beach (we could hear the sea from the apartment) as well as Keegan's Bar! We were in apartment 4 which was a one bed. We loved having our own front door, terrace and garden! Although basic and a little tired inside, it had everything we needed and the kitchen had all the essentials. The bedroom had aircon which was useful at times as well as a safety deposit box. We loved sitting out at night watching the fireflies and listening to the night sounds. By day there were butterflies and birds. We had an issue with the shower not draining and Anastasia was quick to get this resolved for us. She was also really helpful with any questions we had as well as booking a taxi for us if needed. Location wise, it is quite a walk to Port Elizabeth so be prepared for a hike (starting up 'heart attack hill'!). You can then pick up the walkway at Princess Margaret beach. We found a good compromise was to walk to the bus stop at the top and get the dollar bus (2ECU each) as it was so much cheaper than a taxi (30ECU). Overall we could not fault Kingsville and hopefully when we return to Bequia we would not hesitate to stay here again. Since returning home we have discovered that the whole lot is up for sale and just hope that new owners keep the essence of the apartments as they are laid out really well and apart from a bit of updating are perfect just as they are!

TOTAL NIGHTMARE
Pros:

On arriving at Kingsville to check in, having booked through Hotels.com months in advance and my reservation was confirmed, I was told by reception on arrival that they had no reservation for me, total nightmare, the staff couldn't have cared less, I had to find alternative accommodation during one of the most busiest times on the island, I would not recommend Kingsville Apartments under any circumstances.

Ideal location for r&r on the best beach
Pros:

Tucked behind the best beach on the island (Lower Bay Beach, not affected by this horrible sargassum seaweed that plagues many others) is this self catering hidden gem. It is nice and quiet for a romantic getaway or a family holiday, but close to pubs, restaurants, and more, and a short walk to amenities of 'the harbour' of Port Elizabeth. Bert and Kay are awesome, and can arrange for anything you might need or want. We will definitely be coming back.

Inaffidabile
Pros:

Excellent Getaway Accommodation
Pros:

Stayed here for Christmas with family and was very much impressed with the accommodation. A quiet and pastoral location that provides the visitor with a chance to relax with the privilege of having beaches and groceries nearby. The rooms are elk kept.
Although lower bay beach is practically outside I wouldn't recommend bathing there. I would advise going to Princess Margaret beach. One would need to access this beach from a sloping road . However this hike is worth it. Spend a morning swimming in the cool light blue waters of Princes Margaret beach and you will be refreshed.
Amenities at Kingsville include wifi and given that this is a kichenette it is ideal for the economic traveller. Lovely restaurants nearby as well.

I very much appreciate Kay's reception and would recommend kingsville to other fellow travellers.

Lovely and spacious
Pros:

Stayed New Year's Eve for one night. We arrived after the office had closed but one phone call and someone came down the road to check us in.
The apartment was amazing and exactly like the pics online. The kitchen area was spotless and the sitting room was cosy and welcoming. The two bedrooms were exactly as described and the air conditioning was cold even at 24. The view from the balcony is of the other apartments but the grounds are neat so keeps you relaxed. The apartment was walking distance from the club we were going to and a short stroll to the beach. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

Location and Great Staff
Pros:

Coming back to Kingsville Apt. in April. We forgot to write a review last April, or did we? I hate to give out my favorite places in fear they wont have an opening for us, next time we go. This place is a hidden gem. Located in Lower Bay it is a beautiful, secluded place off the beaten track. We miss our little apartment and the friendly staff so we just booked another stay. Some cool places to eat and drink in walking distance. Dawns for lunch or breakfast. Da Reef for drinks on the beach.and Keegan's for BBQ and dinner. We think the most beautiful beach and walking the beach and Belmont walkway to town is so scenic. If you love the beach, peace and quiet and staying at a remote cottage, this is the place for you.

Affordable beach hotel in the heart of Lower Bay
Pros:

I was greeted by the receptionist right on the road. Convenient location straight up the beach of Lower Bay. Air conditioning worked well.Laundry services offered at 20EC per load. Waterfront restaurants within walking distance. I was able to bring a rental car to Bequia from St Vincent via a car ferry, Bequia Express, which made it easy to drive back and forth between the apartments and downtown/harbor.

Extremely good proximity to two amazing beaches
Pros:

Stayed in the two bedroom house at Kingsville. The grounds at Kingsville are neatly kept and the buildings maintained. The two bedroom house is very spacious; suitable for families of three and more. The one bedroom house is more suitable for one person or a couple.
Beach towels and bath towels are provided and supposed to be changed every three days.
Kitchen has the basic amenities and utensils.
The television in the two bedroom house is located in the living room and not in the bedrooms which is a bit of a bummer. WiFi is free and fairly fast but the signal drops off once you are in any of the bedrooms.
There are screens in the windows in the main living area but not in the windows in the bedrooms (bedrooms are air conditioned so missing screens not a problem). Also no screen in the sliding door to prevent bugs entering at night.
Kingsville is stones throw to two wonderful beaches. And also close to three restaurants in the area. In the off season one will have to venture to other areas/town for other restaurants as only one restaurant appears to operate at night.

If you love to go to beach daily and stay until sunset; Kingsville is the place for you. We enjoyed our stay on Bequia and we were well tanned by the time we left. :) :)

Great location, stunning beach nearby
Pros:

Stayed at Kingsville during our recent holiday on Bequia. The apartment we had was a double bedroom apartment, eventhough there was only 2 of us. Nice and spacious inside and more than enough room for the pair of us. The apartments are located in Lower bay with a few bars and restaurants close by, as well as Lower bay beach which is lovely and only a short 2 minute walk from the aprtments.

The apartment was clean and tidy. The staff Anastasia and Marion are great, and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The owners Burt and Kay are also friendly and helpful.

It is a short walk into town via the public beach walk way, which takes about 20 minutes, with access to an ATM (only 1 on the Island), restaurants and a variety of supermarkets. We recommend a stay here, it is worth it.

Would happily return , great holiday base.
Pros:

I have given 5 stars not for comfort or luxury but for our overall stay . Lower bay was a great place to be as we didn't want to stay in town . Our one bedroom apartment was small but comfortable and clean . The bedroom a/c good and the free wifi excellent . There also was a very good shower. Two minutes walk and you were on a nice beach and a short stroll along the coastal lane brought you to keegans bar where we spent time drinking rum , chatting and watching the boats . Further along was Dawns which was great for breakfast . We had a jeep to get us around but it was walkable to town if you don't mind hills.! Have been to Bequia three times and love it . Would happily stay at kingsville if we visit again

Wonderful place, but a little expensive
Pros:

You pay for the location, the quality of the units, and the services they provide. all fair. It's just a little more than I can afford, $100 a day. It's worth it on Bequia which is really favoured by European tourists. I pay half as much on St Vincent, the main island, but it is somewhat more dangerous for tourists. Bequia is really laid back, but it's a small semi desert island, and I run out of things to do there after a week or two. A lot of people who stay at Kingsville, reserve their next winters stay before they leave, mostly older retired people, and you have to be a good tourist before you get that reservation. It's a great place. I went several years for one week, all I could afford before staying on the main island. The snorkeling was great. There were a lot of hikes that took the whole day. The Lime juice is incredible. I travelled up the hill from the whale museum to a point where they sent a lookout to watch for whale spouts. I bought fresh whale oil on the street. I have fond memories of Bequia, and Kingsville apts. It's really the only place I would stay on Bequia.

We Love It!!
Pros:

We've only been coming to Bequia for about 11 years and have always stayed in Kingsville Apartments!! My wife & I travel a lot & do lots of backpacking type of trips so Bequia is our relaxation but more relaxing when staying in Kingsville which is conveniently located near restaurants, bars & Beach of course! The staff (Anastasia & Martina) & owners (Kay & Bert) are the best staff & owners you'll ever meet PERIOD! Bequia is a low key island which isn't touristy (which we Love) & overcrowded & everyone on the island are VERY friendly & helpful. For the 1st time in 10 years, we missed coming to Bequia last year due to our newborn but returned this year with (now 19 months) him & he loved it! The two bedroom apartments are huge compare to the 1 bedroom (which is still cozy) so if traveling w/ kids, take the 2 bedroom. Anastasia & Martina will keep these apartments nice & clean for you & are extremely helpful & there when you need 'em. Bert & Kay are the best host ever!! Stay @ Kingsville & you'll see why we are in love w/ this island & apartments.

Great spot
Pros:

We are currently staying in a one bedroom for a short stay and are very happy we picked this spot. The one bedroom is very large with a full kitchen including fridge/freezer, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. The bathrooms are large and have long mirrors so two people can get ready at the same time. There is an AC unit in the bedroom that works very well. The bed and pillows are also extremely comfortable. Everything is clean and the nights were very quiet. There is a front desk reception area and the staff were very helpful. Wifi has a nominal fee to use.

I am not sure what else to say except its a great value for the money

Kingsville is also walking distance to everything in lower bay like the restaurants la Plage, bees cafe, Keegan's, de reef, nandos, and Dawns. There is also a small super market called Petra's at the end of the road. Go to Dawns for breakfast and make sure you try the freely made fruit juices.

ideal location for me
Pros:

I hike and snorkell on my vacations. It took me a year to discover Kingsville. It's expensive for me at $100 a night, but luxourious. The apartments are well equiped. I just have to walk a few steps to be on Lower Bay beach. Many people there make their reservations for the next year before they finish their stay this year. There are quite a few people there I know from last year when I stay there. This year I couldn't afford to stay there. I usually spend one week at Kingsville and 3 weeks at Tranquility on St Vincent. Bequia has many more tourists than St Vincent. There are many more restaurants. I do a lot of hiking there. I hike to the highest peak, and the rocks between Princess Margaret and Lower Bay are quite something to snorkell in. You have WiFi at Kingsville, and they will do your laundry for a reasonable price. There is no market per se, except along the roads leading into downtown. I highly recommend the Lime Juice which you dilute and sweeten. Avoid the actual market, mostly people from Kingstown, looking to rip off tourists, but sellers on the street, I buy from them. Security is a problem. You can't leave your windows open at Kingsville, but you need AC for the night, so it isn't much of an inconvenience. I spend much of my time outdoors. There are two locks to every door and a safe in every room for money and valuables. The locals say that it is people from St Vincent who come on the ferry and stay overnight trying to rob people. They would never do that. There are two very dangerous plants on Bequia, the brasil plant and the Machineel tree you will see on the beach. I got hit hit by the Brasil plant last year, walking off the trail. I still have the scars of that encounter a year later. The staff at Kingsville told me what it was. They are very helpful, any experience you encounter. Next year I will try to stay there a week. Bequia is a semi dessert and it's a good introduction to St Vincent culture where I stay another 3 weeks. It's hard to travel from one culture to another. When in St Vincent I wish it was more like Ontario Canada. When I come back to Canada I wish it was more like St Vincent. Bequia is somewhere between those extremes, having adapted to mostly European tourists, but it's a very small island and after a week, I look forward to the wildreness of St Vincent

A home away from home!!
Pros:

If you are looking for a warm, clean, hospitable place to stay while appreciating the "second" home atmosphere--then come to Kingsville. This year marks our 8th or 9th stay here. As always within 2 days the staff become your friends, your neighbors will welcome you, and the sound of the "sea" will be heard. Bert and Kay are the epitome of hotel hosts. This year's staff, Martina (a 10 year veteran) and Anastasia (new last year) will greet you with the warmest of smiles, and always willing to assist. The villa staff do a great job keeping a clean apartment and are always willing to assist the guests in any way they can.

Total relaxation - Loved it!
Pros:

This was our second trip to Kingsville Apartments and I simply cannot say enough about this quaint, peaceful oasis in Bequia. The two bedroom apartment was very comfortable for a family with two kids. Plenty of room and spotlessly clean. We even enjoyed the use of a brand new barbeque in the garden. Our extended family stayed in a one bedroom cottage and it was perfect for them.
The location is excellent. The beach is right across the road and there are plenty of shade trees so that you can enjoy the beach without getting a sunburn. The Kingsville office has a good library so there is no need to trael with books - just pick one up when you get there. I enjoyed afternoons reading, snoozing and listening to my iPod under the trees on the beach. If you need a beach chair, then ask for Sylvan at De Reef or Keegan's up the road rent some too. Keegan's had an outdoor movie night with dinner and drinks but I never got there - not enough time to do everything. Next time I plan to do this though, as I thought it was an excellent idea.
The kids enjoyed snorkelling, fishing and swimming on Lower Bay and it was handy to have Mango's and de Reef on the beach for an ice cold cocktail when you needed to cool off.
There are good restaurants in Bequia and I would recommend Mac's pizzeria, Coco's, Fernando's and The Devil's Table (the reggae band that played on Saturday night were fantastic!).
All in all, Kingsville is the best spot for me and my family to vacation in Bequia. It has everything that you need to feel at home and their rates are reasonable. This year was our second trip and we plan to visit every year - hopefully more than once - from now on. We love Kingsville - you will too! Enjoy.
Best wishes and a big thank you to Kay and Bert King and the rest of the staff. Jason, Linda, Laurence and Kimberly Lampkin, Barbados W.I.

Good Choice
Pros:

Clean, comfortable place to stay. Good location and friendly staff. My only complaint was the housekeeping - a daily service would have been appreciated. I really don't want to make beds and sweep while on holiday. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.
