Savoy Inn Hotel

The Savoy hotel in Muscat is at two locations at 1 km distance from each other. One is called Savoy Inn Hotel and the other Savoy Grand Hotel (or to make it even more complicated on google it is called Savoy Inn Grand hotel). We had a reservation at the latter.

On arrival at the Savoy Grand from the airport at 24:00 we were told "the hotel was full". We would have to walk to the other location. "Walking is good for you." a receptionist added with a condescending smile. Our taxi had already left. We walked the 1 km to the other location. Luckily we only had hand luggage. Just imagine we would have had suitcases! Moreover the road to the other location is only partially lit. It is more like a dirt road. Simply unacceptable in most parts of the world. If you make a mistake, you bear the consequences yourself not the guest (one of us will be 70 next year).

Having read the negative reviews on booking we had expected a low level hotel. However this proved not the case! The room was clean. Very comfortable beds, ac, hot shower worked well as well as WiFi! It was quiet and whenever we needed something staff acted promptly.

There are different kind of restaurants in the vicinity. Money exchange as well. A bus stop with a connection to downtown is within walking distance as is the Grand Mosque one of Oman's prime attractions. Still, the hotel area looks a bit like an industrial site and you are quite a distance away from Mutrah and Old Muscat.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Savoy Inn Hotel. We stayed 6 days and would stay there again in case of need, if price levels in Oman remain as high as they are now,

It was pathetic experience. The bed sheet quality. Extra charges and dusty blankets.

Fair and affordable

Friendly staff and easy to deal with. Nice and clean room. Management should add at least one more wall plugin socket to charge cellphone. I had to disconnect the table lamp to use that plugin socket. Overall good budget hotel.

Every thing was good and clean

Very bad service, Staff is very rude. No cleanliness, wifi wasn't working properly.

It was uncomfortable stay. The kitchen smell was everywhere in the hotel at lunchtime. Rooms' furniture was old and unattractive.

I caught allergic because of unseterelized linens.

Very Convenient price and location

The hotel reception was not in good manners to talk.. , after that from the Room - intercom to reception was not woking...

The refrigerator in room was not properly working....overall not good experience.. sorry

Sales et sales

Hotel is very dirthy, bad conditions. Need to say that the personal try to do the thinks better, but in that condition whas not easy.

Good place

Good location. Near business district. The lobby is very small and not attractive.

This things is the best word that can describe it. I booked on their hotel last July 20 - 22. I arrive late night which is technically it's July 21 already. I asked them if they can adjust my check out time into 7pm of July 22.. They didn't allow me or they going to charge me for a extra day. I came from Dubai by bus. So we experience some delays because of the other passengers who's having a problem with their visa.. I asked them if they can consider my situation.. They answer me in a rude way.. I never argue with them because I don't want to ruin my short vacation in Muscat.. I will never come back to this Hotel..

Je souhaite qu'il y ait une table dans chaque chambre, revoir le wi-fi qui ne donne pas, mettre du savon dans les douches, des adaptateur de connection au prise dans les chambres,...

No taxi

Hotel jest stary i to widać. W łazience po prysznicu cała posadzka była zalana wodą, która nie chciała spłynąć do brodzika. Trzeba było chodzić po wodzie i mocno uważać żeby się nie poślizgnąć.

locality is OK but the hotel service is terrible. Room service is hell. No value for your money. Room was OK. No amenities. Will never book it again unless its at least 50% cheaper then other hotel room rents.

Location of the hotel is good,but other all service is very terrible.
1.Very slow WIFI
2.Not suitable for family as lots of other activities going on.
3.You can not sleep at night as lot of noise.
4.No front desk service
5.No clininess
6. waste of money
