Väldigt bra frukost! Väldigt mycket att välja på.
Sängarna är inte särskilt bekväma. Skulle inte skada med en bäddmadrass. Samma gäller kuddarna. Kan vara bättre.

The location is in the center of Funchal. you can walk to the farmers market or the waterfront promenade easily.
The door to the parking lot (a collection of dilapidated buildings next to the hotel) was very small. It was very difficult to turn in. The room does not have view. You have to go to the deck on the rooftop to have an ocean view. The jacuzzi was very small and always occupied.

Great location close to everything.
Staff members were very helpful- particularly Lilia and Armando in the dining room and Luisa at the front desk.
The spa pool could be warmer particularly in January.
Room layouts could be improved for storage space near bathroom sinks.
We went for a few days over Christmas. The hotel is beautiful and situated very close to the shops and Cathedral.
The food in the main restaurant was spectacular however fine dining every night if you were there for longer might get a bit too much.

er zijn wat kleine onbenullige dingen in de hotelkamer die wat onderhoud nodig hebben. Zoals een deurstopper die loszit en nog wat onderhoudsissues. Daarnaast viel het ons op dat de driepersoonskamer een ruime tweepersoonskamer was met een bed in het zitgedeelte. We hadden hier iets meer van verwacht.
A beautiful hotel right in the middle of the old town, down a quiet street. The location is perfect for exploring Funchal. The staff and the level of service was outstanding. Even though it is a boutique hotel it has every you would need including lovely outdoor pool, a heated indoor pool, a spa, a fabulous restaurant and a bar. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of selection but you could also order freshly cooked items. The restaurant served some amazing food in the evening. The hotel was immaculately maintained. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we really couldn’t fault it.
The hotel itself was outstanding. The communication through the bookings.com was not optimal.

This was our 8th stay at the Castanheiro and definitely won't be our last!
All the staff on reception are brilliant. Shout out to Andreia, David, Claudia, Sandra (to mention a few)) are so welcoming and friendly! Very efficient housekeeping staff and the bar staff and breakfast staff are all very friendly and helpful! too. All are indeed a credit to the hotel!
The breakfast options are fantastic! There are plenty of hot and cold buffet items as well as an a la carte menu, i.e. omelettes, pancakes etc. etc. Lovely variations of fresh juices, prosecco, pastries - the list goes on!
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool.
Location is perfect, very central to Old Town Funchal, but at the same time in a very quiet street.
We cannot fault this hotel!
Situation idéal pour ceux qui aiment marcher. Équipement complet, piscine, spa, restauration, bars. Tout avec l'élégance. Une excellente adresse. Je recommande.
