Однозначно понравилось расположение и приветливость персонала.чисто. На этом всё.
Все остальное идет в минус отелю.
И ужасные матрасы с подушками на скрипящем основании.
И шумоизоляция номеров.
И запахи, идущие из ресторана, и посредственное качество и выбор блюд на завтраке.
В общем, все это не дотягивает до четырех звезд точно. Ну а дизайнер — это, конечно, отдельная песня.
Дешевые материалы и отсутствие уюта в оформлении номеров.
Чего стоит только выбор дизайна для умывальника! Для того чтобы в нем умыться, человеку ростом 180 сантиметров нужно нагнуться буквой Г. Ребенок точно не дотянется до раковины. Общее Соотношение цены и качества неудовлетворительное. Если бы отель назывался не бутик-отелем, а хостелом и стоил в два раза дешевле, то это был бы лучший отель на Мадейре.
Но за те деньги, которые он стоит, это очень плохой выбор.

We made a return visit to Hotel Castanheiro in Funchal, Madeira in February 2026, having first visited in 2024. We were delighted to see that many of the staff who had made our first trip so memorable were still working there. The hotel is just a short drive from the airport and is well situated a short walk from restaurants, cafes, shops and museums. Our room was spacious (Junior Suite), clean and was well serviced throughout our stay. The food in the hotel is excellent although we felt the breakfast buffet food could sometimes not be very hot. There was however always a good choice of options, including food that could be freshly cooked and brought to the table.
Location was brilliant, easy walking to sea front and town centre. Staff attentive and courteous. Food very good. Rooms clean and comfortable. We had a super week

Sängarna är inte särskilt bekväma. Skulle inte skada med en bäddmadrass. Samma gäller kuddarna. Kan vara bättre.
Stayed for 4 nights and could have stayed much longer! The rooms are stylish, clean & very comfortable....including choice of pillows & good aircon.
The staff (reception, bar, restaurant, cleaners) are all consistently friendly, efficient & professional.
Large choice at breakfast, including many of the fruits the island is famous for. Also choice of eating inside or out, when the weather permits.
Rooftop pool & hot tub are also nice, with views both up the mountain & out to sea.
Pool was a tad chilly but OK once you got moving.
Spa is also nice, though pool could have been warmer.
Bar does a happy hour 6pm to 7pm, 2 for 1 which is good value. We had mojitos and caprihinas, both of which were good.
In short, definitely recommend and will visit again if we return to Madeira.
Enjoyed every minute of our stay here. The beautiful room, the comfortable bed,the calm surroundings, the wonderful food,and the amazing staff all contributed to the best holiday we have had in a long time. The hotel's location is ideal ,the building itself beautiful, the pool and spa provide every thing needed to totally relax ,also recommend getting a massage, you will leave feeling 10 years younger! To be honest we could go on and on about this hotel, just book it and go,maderia is fabulous and this hotel is too!
