The M Hotel is right in the heart of Grand Hirafu. This is great if you want to party into the wee hours, walk to the resort, or dine at food trucks. This is not great if you want to sleep. Freddie's bar is two doors down and you can hear the bumping music and yelling patrons until from about 11pm - 1:30 am. Then, from 1:30-4am you hear wasted people hooting & hollering, falling, and even sledding down the icy & snowy street. We embraced the noise during this part of our trip, but just a heads up for future travelers. The breakfast is a western buffet with made to order eggs - which is a nice touch.
Good location
amazing hot breakfast. helpful front desk
Great location, lots of bars and restaurants, close to the bus. The hotel is very basic which was fine for the price we paid. Nice simple worm breakfast that never changes. Staff are all foreigners very friendly and knowledgeable. On the first day we had many questions and Jess was very patient and helpful with a big smile.
Helpful to pick up and drop offs
Don't expect too much! Most of the staff are under working holiday visa
The Green Line of the Hirafu Shuttle Bus stops right outside the Hotel, and makes for an extremely convenient way to travel to the Hirafu Mountain Centre with all your ski equipment in tow. A 5-10mins level ground walk to Aya Niseko ski resort provides another choice for skiing. Breakfast is from 715-915am, with enough items to select for 2-3 days.
Room was dirty with hair and dust under beds. Limited towel and bedding service. No milk or tea bags in room. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Cooked breakfast everyday was cold and staff paid no attention to refilling coffee or replenishing food that had run out. Would not recommend
My stay at the M hotel was amazing! It’s so convenient and close to the town. They will pick you up and drop you off at the welcome center so that you don’t have to walk with all of your luggage. They also have free breakfast!
Great hotel in convenient location. The Hirafu shuttle, which takes you up to the gondola, stops right down the street from this hotel. The breakfast is pretty great considering that it’s free with your stay. The hotel staff seems entirely from Australia, so they all speak English.
Loved our room - spacious by Japanese standards. Excellent location to the slopes and food options. Service very good.
Good location, v clean, comfortable, v helpful staff. Only issue I had was the hot water supply in the shower was a little unstable
Without fear of contradiction i can categorically state that this hotel plumbs new depths in terms of customer service. The hotel's glossy promotional material fails to mention the fact that housekeeping services are only available every 3 days, moreover, the bathroom amenities normally found is Japanese hotels were conspicuously absent. On arrival at the hotel on Friday 3rd January I was asked to allow my debit card to be photocopied, when i questioned this I was informed that it is the hotel's policy to cover against damage or loss from the room. On Monday morning 6th January and prior to checking out of the hotel I received a notification from my bank in Singapore that some low-life in Australia had used my debit card details to make a purchase via Paypal, coincidence? When I raised the issue with the Australian receptionist he became quite agitated and defensive, you can draw your own conclusions.
Pillows and bed were uncomfortable for $400/night in a small room like this. Hardly any amenities given as compared to a japanese hotel.
good location. Not too far From food and mini mart.
Definitely maybe five minutes walk to rental shop
Very pleasant stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Stella.
Daily breakfast was sufficient to fuel up for the ski slopes!
Nice and queit in the heart if Hirafu... short 10-12 min walk to Grabd Hirafu
Stayed here twice now and highly recommend this hotel. Clean good-sized rooms for relatively good prices (not cheap, but reasonable compared to other Hirafu hotels of the same spec), lockable ski racks and kit storage lockers, great buffet breakfast, and free transfer service to the bus station on arrival and departure. Only approx 10 min walk from the nearest chairlift (in ski boots), and close to the main restaurants and bars in Hirafu. Rhythm ski rental shop (biggest rental shop in town) is a 5 min walk. One to watch - the road outside can get VERY icy and is on a hill, so cheap snow spikes come in useful.
Good location, near many restaurants and convenience stores. The room is quite spacious. My only complain is it doesn’t have Japanese toilet in the rooms!
A special mention to one of the staff member Farren. I lost my pouch with my passport inside while walking to Lawson. Her initiative to call the establishments along the pathway to Lawson was my saving grace! She was patient and helpful throughout the ordeal. THANK YOU FARREN!
Perfect location in Hirafu lower village, easy walk to everything including slopes. Breakfast was good, rooms were clean, shower was large. No complaints.
