Professional property host/manager
I booked 2 nights via AGODA ( FRI-> SUN ). I found out that my flight was late night(SUN) and enquired about room extension during check-In. Front desk staff ( named X ) attended to me and said I needed to book additional night. There was a promotional price if book then . I took her offer. However, on Sunday afternoon, staff called me and said my room rate was a mistake and I needed to pay the difference, I went downstairs to front desk to check. The lady manager stated her staff wrongly stated the price and I need to pay the difference. I questioned her whether she checked staff X and why took so long to discover such mistake? I could not change hotel now .A heated argument ensues and manager finally accepted defeat after I mentioned that this is like cheating the guest. When staff X reported to work later , she called me up and questioned me why I am so rude to her manager and why I could not pay the diffference. I told her this is business principle, the mistake was from hotel and it took them last minute to discover why I need to pay for their mistake? Staff X said " normal guest " would just pay up and she is upset I am not that normal . I hunged up the phone.
Staft ok , room clean, location need walk around 10 mint to mall.
great quiet place to stay
Nice Hotel and all staf very friendly
Hotel OK. Need to improve a lot with the maintenance services such as air conditioning and toilet upgrades.
their rooms are exceptionally clean as the hotelier keeps their windows open when the rooms are not occupied. Fresh sunlight airflow will remove moisture and foul air from the rooms which are spacious and the standing shower and longbath are excellent. Within walking distance to shopping areas.
Downside - water pressure from the sink is extremely low.
This is near to the See Kim Yong area where the town is bustle. Plenty of food options nearby, where massage is just at the doorstep. The room is however very old and even the amenities are aged. Wifi was perpetually slow. Overall it was acceptable for the price they we paid.
Overall rating : UNSATISFACTORY NOT RECOMMENDED. My Greatest Comments: 1) Front Counter Official need to send Client's Course Training - She is not multitasking person, rude the answer if ask questions or help or favor while she is doing work ( a THAI LADY) . She thinks she is always right Customer are wrong- scolding customers, hot temper not suited to be in the reception better to put her in housekeeping. Book for 3 rooms but in vein. The receptionist asks us our reference number but we didn’t print it because we just presented our mobile phone since it was saved in it. Now that we are in a modern world the management should send their receptionist into training. Better to look for another hotel..
if you like to be away from city noise, this is the place recommended. If you want to be close to shopping area in downtown, this is the place not recommended.
For the above, is when you are on your foot.
Room size is good. If you want good water pressure, don't stay at the rooms on the top floor.
Was there for a 2 nights stay at this hotel. Once reached hotel, no welcoming gesture at all. Front office staff asked me " give me your passport" I was like..WTH. was totally turned off by that. No smiles nothing at all, I feel like I was not welcomed at all.
The wifi in room is good. But the room is a big disappointment. The bed was due for a change. Basic toiletries provided is so so. Cannot boil hot water at all. No complimentary coffee. This is not the kind of hotel for family stay. Avoid at all cost if you are staying with family especially with small kids or infants.
Location is far away from Lee garden area and the markets. The hotel is surrounded with the local massage parlors, karaokes and coffee shops. You have to take the public transport for sure.
Think twice before getting this hotel.
This is a tired old hotel, old fashioned Tv in room (with only Thai stations). They turn Wifi off at night (8-9pm) and it is not switched on again till after breakfast. I found this out when I asked the guy on the desk in the morning. Even when on it is not great. When you call desk in the evening to find out why it is off no one answers phone. Breakfast in the morning is just Ok, never any good morning greeting or any friendliness. There are many better hotels with good Wifi to stay at, don't waste your money or time.
the hotel is located 10-15mins walking distance from the central of hat yai where normally tourist do the shopping there (central and lee garden shopping mall). But distance is usually not a problem in hatyai where the 'tut tut taxi' is easily to get on the street for 20baht(short distance). The hotel has sufficient parking lots and it is favoured by local tourist. The hotel is abit old (same as most of the hotel around) but yet cleanliness is assured. please prepare your own toiletries such as tooth brush, shampoo...etc as the hotel only provide basic soaps and towels. Near the hotel there is a shop selling the best glutinous rice with mango I had in hatyai, the rice has three colours and very different with other shop.
Its not a 4 or 5 star hotel, definitely a decent hotel with basic amenities. If you are looking for luxuries this is not the right choice, but good enough to provide a clean place to put the night with for that attractive rate. Located not at a strategic city area but its fine, tuk tuk are plenty easily to get outside the hotel. Cost 20 Thai baht for a trip per person to most destinations like Robinson, Central, Lee Garden, Tala Kinyong (market), Odean etc etc. I like this hotel, its clean, has nice staffs, good service, very near to gastro pub Barocco which is just steps away and has better & bigger parking lots comparatively to other hotels in Hatyai. Couldn't find any fault to complain. Will
stay here again.
I stayed here twice on my way from Malaysia to Samui Island and back. It wasn't my first choice since I prefer to be right in the middle of town but it is my brother's current favourite. He is a regular and gets excellent treatment. ie, a mere signature was required at check-in.
Admittedly for the price (slightly below THB1000/night without breakfast) I was very impressed with the room. Large, good view of the canal (Just don't look closely at the water ;-0), clean, very clean bathroom, good airconditioning and excellent wifi. Just make sure you request for room as close to the lift as possible since the router is located there.
Large window but my room (703)'s sliding window couldn't be locked! So just make sure to lock valuables in the safety box. Not that it looks easy to climb up... So I didn't really make a fuss over it. Also, I quite like being able to open the window.
Didn't try the breakfast so can't comment.
There is a shop selling noodle and Khao Yam (Rice with fresh raw veg - Nasi Kerabu in Malay) next door. Across is a lady selling mango sticky rice. A couple of other eateries nearby. Other than that, the area is a bit too quiet for my taste since I like to be surrounded by street food, massages and shops... Do read my review on Centara Hadyai.
Parking is pretty good with outdoor well lit parking right outside the lobby and at times they do allow up to 2 cars to park right inside the porte cochere.
Can be consider as an average hotel: clean, new and comfortable. need to walk about 2 minutes to reach the 7-11 (walk out from the hotel door, turn right go to the T-junction turn left and turn into the right corner, walk a little while, you ll see the 7-11 store).it is just 10 minutes walk to the center which lee garden,Mcd,etc located, can have some exercise after and before food.along the way to the center, there are a lot of restaurants for you to have your meal. if you are not willing to walk, tuk tuk(thailand taxi) will send you to wherever you wish to be at.
there is some improvement of the service, we got a transport to send us to the hotel with a anger face driver, that is fine since we are not going to talk to him as well.once we reached , we went to reception counter, firstly, we showed our smiley face to the hotel staff, that is so unexpected we got back a disgusted look, we might look poor to them so we don't get any better smile maybe so that's fine too. bell boy is nice of helping us to send our luggage and request to the counter so remember to pay tip ya ^^.What disappointed me is that when we checked out, we might have some language barrier. Well, we have our own pronunciation, i tried to understand what the reception girl said, so sorry that make her repeat twice.when we ended out conversation i really hope that i didn't see her look of saying "stupid, can't you understand". i thought i might be too sensitive of face reaction but this is really too obvious that even my friend said that to me.
So, for me i think that service is really important for a business, service decide your customer to stay or leave.hope that is a better improvement when next time i have the chance to stay in Sing Golden Hotel again.By the way, sometime the air-cond is not functioning, their might need maintenance.remember to check the air-cond firstly once you enter the room.
I paid 850 Baht per night without breakfast, which is cheaper then those in the main shopping area and yet you can enjoy a very spacious and clean hotel room. Impressed with the big bathroom which have both bath tub and standing overhead shower. Recomended for regular tourist to Hatyai.
I tried Sing Golden after moved out from V.L. I am so happy to check in this hotel although it is located slightly outside of the shopping. But ideal for people who like to be a bit quiet from the city rush and yet enjoying local Thai food anytime within walking distance. It is suitable for regular tourist like me. The hotel launch for around 3 years, consider a new hotel here.
The hotel did provides FREE wireless Internet service.
I do not have much interaction with hotel staff so I am not able to comment with their service. In general, Thai people are friendly but you need patience to communicate with them slowly cause they dont know English.
If you are the type who like to explore the city, you can take a slow walk from the hotel by foot, see the Thai Local Life and you should not have much problem to reach the main shopping area in about 5-10 minutes. However, If you take Tuk Tuk It will cost you about 20 Baht (alway ask how much before boarding).
Overall, it is worth the money you pay to stay here. I would suggest for those who like to engage Local Tour Guide tourist to stay here since you have transport to bring you around. For first timer to hatyai, please refer to my review on V.L. or Hatyai Holiday Hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights in two adjoining rooms, having moved from a very poor hotel elsewhere in the town. The location is slightly out of the centre but still within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas. Most guests seemed to be Malaysians; I did not hear English spoken here during our stay and it certainly helped that we could speak Thai. The hotel is one of Hatyai's newest, so we did not know anything about it, not having stayed in the town for more than 10 years; it is efficiently run and our rooms were simple, but very clean and well maintained. The bathroom was excellent, with good water pressure, and a simple-to-operate but effective shower. Perfect for those who, like us, prefer simple efficiency to complex inefficiency! We found the staff friendly and helpful at all times. In the restaurant there was a good variety of food, including western breakfast - buffet style when there are sufficient guests to make it worthwhile, which usually means at the weekends. We spoke to the owner on several occasions, and he is always present in the hotel to keep an eye on everything. All in all, this hotel is great value for money.
The room is clean and spacious.Bathroom need severe improvement though.
Bathroom walls are dirty and w.c bowl seat cover needs fixing.
Needs to take "tuk tuk" ride to Hat Yai town (cost 20baht per person).
Suite has no complimentary toothbrush and lotion.
Most Hatyai hotels are run down but not this one. The rates are very attractive and the only setback is the location which is slightly away from the main central area- Lee Garden/Odean Shopping. Its a good 15 minutes walk to these places but you will be able to find some interesting activities in front of this hotel. The karaoke club is located across the river and it is called Garden Home.
The breakfast is served ala carte and it is very minimal. The Coffee House served nice crab fried rice. The bell boys are helpful and they can arrange for massages in the room. You have the option to have a young or old age masseurs. Of course the elder ones are doing a better job at the massages.
As for bikers- they have a basement car park and it is protected 24hours with their in house security.
I would recommend to those who visits Hatyai with the family.
The hotel is relatively new and has nice exterior decor. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned. They have a fridge and cable television with 50 channels. Bathrooms have hot/cold water shower and bathtub. Excellent free paved car park. Within walking distance to the shopping area and next to the night hawker site that offers excellent local food. Quiet area away from the bustling and noisy city center. Value for money. Not so convenient for women tourists on a shopping trip.
