Great service.
Super breakfast. The apple juice was heavenly!
Room had all latest amenities. except elevator(lift). That was a bit of a struggle (being visiting europe for the first time ) for us to carry luggage upstairs.
Good parking space.
The room and bathroom were more than what I expected.
None
We stopped here for lunch at our tour operator’s recommendation and he was correct. You can sit in or outside; both are wonderful. Our lunches (sandwiches) were delicious and the French Fries were thin and crispy. A wonderful choice!
The location was excellent very close to the town center.
Breakfast was outstanding.
The staff were extremely friendly and pleasant.
Outdoor space not that useable. Photo on website makes you think you are getting something more. No great issue for us.
Everything! The room was clean and very comfortable. Decor in the communal spaces was lovely, full of character. Location in the centre of the village was perfect. Parking available on site too.
Nothing
No breakfast
Bathroom was cold and there was no shelf for laying out your toiletries
Feeling of being rushed through dinner to suit staff early finish time
Food was mediocre at best - over priced wine and food list, competent service but without any warmth
Would not recommend to a friend
Lacked a Warm, welcome and enthusiastic service
Lovely place, full of character and charm. Perfect location for exploring Bourton on the Water and just set back enough to not be impacted by any noise from the high street. Room was decorated so beautifully with a lovely view out over the town. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and filling with a good selection to choose from. Nice to have parking onsite so no need to worry about finding a space or paying for parking.
Bed was a little uncomfortable for me, I am aware that mattress firmness is personal preference but for me it was too firm and I woke up most nights with a bad back. Pillows were also very flat, firm and thin - which also impacted on sleep for me.
Perfekt location, gorgeous garden, friendly atmosphere.
The breakfast was very good along with a comfy bed and fluffy towels
Rushed service at dinner, bar closing at 9.30, no staff about when going for breakfast at 8 am, tired looking bedrooms for the expensive price tag, generally overprice, don't mind paying top notch prices but only when the experience is worth it
Many times visited bourton on the water and always admired this hotel, so when planning a girls night away for all our 60th birthdays I thought this would be a nice treat as central and very quaint looking.
On arrival early we asked if we could park in the car park and to our surprised they said our rooms where ready and we could check in, which was lovely, all the staff seemed to bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. On entering the rooms we did think they were in need of maintence, when paying top money you expect a certain standard, the beds very very comfy and the towels were large and fluffy so that was a win, we unpacked then went off to have lunch and do a spot of shopping, on return we decided to book the restaurant for an evening meal, on entering 1 of the rooms we found the tv not working, I contacted the manager and he came promptly but couldn’t fix it and said must be the antenna moving due to bad weather, however the other 2 rooms next to mine had both tv’s working. We went down to the restaurant and ordered our courses, again for the money you pay we were disappointed and also very rushed as soon as starter plates cleared the main course appeared, normally a top notch restaurant would leave at least 15 minutes between courses for you to digest, however the puddings were lovely, we decided to take a drink into the garden to be told order quickly as the bar closed at 9.30pm which we felt early and no night porter or staff on hand after 10pm. We retired to bed bed earlier than anticipated, I tried the tv again and had a play and hey presto got it working,Breakfast was 8 til 9.45 so after the rushed service thought we would be prompt to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, so went down at 8 to find no one about and rooms in darkness, why if they serve from 8 would no one be around prepping as you would expect, we turned the lights on and sat down, 10 mins later a lady came in and said she was the cleaner and asked if anyone was there! a little later a nice young lad came in and we asked about drinks etc, then the manager arrived saying he didn’t know he was doing the breakfast service which we found strange as surely he would do the rota, we asked for teas and coffees, then had to ask for toast then the breakfast, instead of being asked , we had to do all the asking which again you would not expect in this establishment. When the breakfast arrived it was presented well, hot and very flavoursome. I did point out to the manager I had fixed the tv and joked I would leave the bill in my room, he quipped back that I was a life saver and would leave me a life jacket!
I know this is a long review but I always check trip advisor when booking anything to see what the general opinion is so in return like to write a honest review after visiting somewhere.
Would we return, definitely not, when you pay decent money to stay somewhere for a special occasion, you expect certain standards and quality and the only thing that matched that was the bed, towels and the food at breakfast.
We had a lovely stay at The Dial House. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water and within easy walking distance of everything.
Our Garden View Room was comfortable, clean and full of character. The hotel has a quirky charm, and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was really nice, and we especially appreciated the free parking. The hotel kindly let us use the car park before check-in and after check-out, which made our visit much more relaxing.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay. We'd happily stay again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Bourton-on-the-Water.
The location was superb and the hotel was stunning
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and beautiful
It was nice to have a car park to park the car
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dial House. The staff were lovely. The room was cute, quirky, and comfortable, and the rest of the property was so beautiful. We appreciated the extra touches like the open fire in the bar on a cold and rainy day and the local handmade soap in the room, which smelled amazing. The breakfast was delicious with a good range to choose from. We also enjoyed the lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The location is right in the village which was very convenient to walk around.
Perfect ambiance of building, the decoration, the whole experience was 10/10
Nothing.
