Stayed 1 night for Great Yorkshire Show.
Grounds lovely and good location
Bar area nice and average hotel prices
Shame the room wasn’t up to the same Standard.
The bathroom in particular needs a full refurb.
Floor marked, bath seal very grubby.
Seal on shower screen black from either dirt or mould
Bottom of bath panel grubby and coming away
Dust hanging from the bottom of the heater in room
Window seals black in corners
One of bedside lights not working
No coffee in room and no phone so a trip to reception to get some
Speaking honestly I have stayed in many low budget hotel with better standard room
Nobody on reception at check out to point all these things to . Waited 3-4 minutes but nobody in sight
We had a delightful stay for two nights at the Cedar Court in Harrogate, celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary by visiting the Great Yorkshire Show and enjoying a breakfast in the hotel sharing many happy memories of our wedding day in Winchester with the friend who was our best-man 50 years ago.
Large hotel in very good location.
Friendly staff.
The hotel has a carpark on site, but this costs extra, despite the room being expensive.
Had a room on the top floor facing the afternoon sun. It was extremely hot, and a portable fan didn’t make much difference, so not easy to sleep.
With the blind down there is little ventilation even with the window open.
I recently attended a birthday party held in the tipi at cedar court hotel. All of the guests had an amazing time and the venue was perfect. The staff were all amazing but Gary went above and beyond. He was constantly checking in with guests, took care of removing all the decorations at the end of the night and made sure everyone was fed. Thank you Gary!
The state of the bathroom in the family suite was very poor. Fixtures and fittings either loose or came away in the hand. Bath plug hole blocked due to hair.
No teaspoons for the compimentary tea and coffee.
Unable to phone for room service so had to go down and order. Received the food one hour and twenty minutes later. Claimed it was due to two functions going on.
After staying at the Hotel on two previous occasions, we were looking forward to a two night break. After waking extremely early to the rattling cooling system for the beer, we continued with our break away. On our second night, we rang reception around 11pm to complain about the noise (sounded like a washing machine full of screws), to be told that the cooling system would be turned off at 12pm. This didn’t happen and unable to sleep, we made a complaint and a member of staff visited the room and agreed that it was unacceptable and moved us to a quiet room at 1am! On check out we asked to speak to the Manager but was advised she was not on site but would call us. 3 days on we still haven’t had the courtesy of an apology or a call. Such a shame, the food was great and this is a lovely hotel let down by poor maintenance and communication. Would not recommend.
We had an amazing stay at Cedar Court Harrogate this weekend. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly pleasant, friendly, and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, and they really made our stay special.
The hotel was very clean throughout, and the food was absolutely lovely. Everything was well presented and enjoyable.
What really stood out, however, was the staff. They were all amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. Their kindness and professionalism made our weekend even more memorable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Cedar Court Harrogate to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable break. We can't wait to return.
Excellent service from reception
Clean rooms
Excellent food
Had a lovely couple of days away at the Cedar Court. Great location and lovely hotel with lots of character. Easily within walking distance of the shops.
Didn't have dinner but breakfast was lovely.
Stayed here several times in past must say the food is really good quality hotel great location. So this time felt like their service had slipped obviously new team members in restaurant and I fully understand everyone has to learn on the job but felt the guy who was mentoring the new member wasn't really advising them very well on service & should of stepped in and helped . Bar staff were really friendly and welcoming . So 2nd day bearing in mind we had upgraded to a suite for birthday treat came back to our room tea /coffee tray hadn't been replenished so went to reception and I felt like I was putting the lady in question with ginger auburn hair out of her way and she offered no apology. So finally on day of checking out we went for breakfast which was very good only to find when I returned to our room to freshen up before leaving for our onward journey to find housekeeping were in stripping the bed and cleaning the room so I explained to her I hadn't checked out yet and I need to use the bathroom and she smiled and just carried on cleaning and we had to wait at least 10 minutes before she left this really spoiled our experience of this hotel so when I mentioned to the receptionist the same lady I asked for replenishment the day before, she offered no apology and did say it shouldn't of happened and she would have a word and that they were short on housekeeping staff which to be honest it was clear to see but I'm on my holiday and I really don't need to be told of the hotels staffing problem. Also when I got asked for feedback it felt like I was dealing with a robot ,all told think most of Frontline staff were lovely but think the management could benefit with more training
Ideally located just off the Stray ,this is a smart newly-refurbished hotel with great facilities. Don’t be put off by the Cedar Court brand! This is much smarter than the Wakefield one ) .
Service and food for our evening meal in the restaurant was superb. Rooms look a bit tired and for the night we stayed it was rathe expensive compared to other hotels (which had no availability).
Had a couple of days this week at Cedar Court, we stay here two or three times a year when visiting Harrogate. Love the location and walk into town, or if you don’t fancy a walk the bus at the back of the Hotel is every 10mins into town. We had a Delux room on the 3 rd floor and the walk in shower is great. Room 313 the view opposite the tippee has restricted view to the park as there is a huge tree in the way.Love the lounge area very relaxing .
Only disappointment is the car park fee has gone up to 10 pounds for 24 hours.surely if you are a resident this should be free.
Have stayed in a couple of hotels in Harrogate but do always come back to Cedar court.
It always seem cheaper to book with Booking.com rather than directly with the Hotel.
Restaurant is excellent.
The rooms were very clean, spacious. Parking was ample and good price to stay over night. Very friendly staff. Only a 10 minute walk to town centre
Really nice hotel, one of the best we have been to in the uk, very large room, don't normally leave reviews but had to on this occasion.
I stayed here for a business trip and it served a purpose. Toiletries in the bathroom were “The White Company”. The room was clean, modern and stylish as was the bar and reception area. The corridors and lift were dated. I wasn’t told you need to hang a sign on your door to get room serviced so was a little annoyed to get back to my room at 18:30 after a long day of work meetings to find no clean mugs and hand soap still empty etc but reception came relatively promptly to try and sort.
We had our wedding breakfast in the beautiful Imaginarium. We were able to go in the day before to decorate. All our guests commented on how it was the perfect venue. Right from the start the staff Stacey (Hotel Mgr), Pagi (event coordinator) and Steve (exec chef) helped us to plan the perfect celebration and meal. The meal was spectacular and more than worthy of a 5* hotel. Our guests were unanimously impressed. The staff on the day were superb the care, attention to detail, professionalism and warmth were second to none - thank you so much to Matteo, Pablo, Anne and Harry behind the bar. I can’t recommend this venue enough. Thank you once again.
We recently stayed at the Cedar Court in Harrogate. Booking in advance a little we got a relatively good deal on Booking.com. About £80 per night.
The hotel is very upper class and great value for the money. The interiors are very well decorated and maintained. The bar area is spacious and comfortable with reasonably priced drinks and snacks.
We were greeted by Ilaria, on reception who couldn't help enough. She was very polite and courteous and gave us all the information we needed to check in smoothly. She obviously knew we were new to the place and reassured us answering all our questions without fuss.
We were lucky to get a recently decorated superior room at the front over looking the park, car park and the main road. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom, which was served with ample towels and soaps etc. The bed was also very comfortable indeed.
The location, if looked up on google may give you the impression that it is a long way from the town center, it is not. It is only a pleasant 10 minute walk along some leafy wide streets into the center. Because of this we didn't use the car at all during our stay.
On car parking, there is ample, but it is not free! You must remember to register your car on arrival at reception and pay the £10 for each 24 hours. Paying for parking at any hotel you are stating at always feel like a rip off and kind of takes away the smile a bit. We usually book hotels with free parking, but these are getting harder to find these days.
The only negative was the breakfast which we booked separately a £14 each. Most of it was quite acceptable with a good selection but was let down badly by the fruit juices being watered down to an unacceptable level. Why would you do this? It won't save the money hoped for while wrecking the breakfast experience. Come on Cedar.... what was going on here? Other than that, the food on offer was good and you could have as much as you wanted from the buffet type setup.
We would definitely stay here again but probably skip the breakfast next time and instead, take a walk into town to Wetherspoon's which is well worth a visit in the old Winter Gardens building. If you have time, go and visit Spofforth Castle, a ten mins drive away and the boating lake in Knarebourgh, near the castle. You won't regret this on a sunny day.
Once again thanks to Ilaria on reception for making us feel special and most welcomed at the Cedar Hotel.
Amazing day super room ( the imaginarium ) Matteo, Pablo and Anne did a fantastic job looking after us all and making us welcome couldn’t have been a better day ( despite the rain!) the bar staff were also amazing although sorry I didn’t get your names they had a lot to deal with 😂 thank you so much
A fantastic afternoon/evening in the imaginarium for a family wedding. The room is stunning, food delicious and staff were absolutely fantastic. Big thanks especially to Matteo , Anne and Pablo who made the afternoon even more special
