Pulling into the car park, we were impressed with the grandeur of the hotel, full of promise. With no one at reception, we attempted to use the self service terminal until the receptionist turned up. The first room offered was so depressing that had I not managed to get it changed, I would have turned around and left. Why do half empty hotels offer guests the worst room when better ones at the same rate are available? Don't they want you to return? The next room was much better, recently modernised, but with a lumpy mattress and worn sheets. Unfortunately, you don't find these things out until you get into bed. The reception, restaurant and lounge area are impressive, the staff are friendly and helpful, and dinner was very good. Rooms are not cleaned and items replenished unless requested. The easy 10-minute walk into the town centre is probably okay if you don't have to walk in the pouring rain. With so many hotels in Harrogate vying for customers, this one won't be top of our list
Lovely Hotel based across from the main Harrogate Stray. Professional approachable staff who contribute to an enjoyable stay. Modern clean rooms offering a daily refresh for those on a longer stay and a restaurant providing excellent full English or Continental breakfast as well as lunchtime, bar and evening meals. The location is excellent for Harrogate town which is a short walking distance away.
Very pleasant and professional welcome, lovely restaurant in a very beautiful room. I was very well attended by Matteo, Eleanor, Ben and Louisa over two nights in the restaurant Amber, and served some very tasty food. My hotel room was very quiet (despite ongoing building work to be completed later in February), very clean, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was also well located for the Yorkshire Showground, for the fabric show, and to easily walk into town. I thought it was excellent value for the money and will be returning for next year's show.
The Country Music weekend I attended with a friend was marvellous and the hotel lived up to the experience. Brilliant staff, especially Lauren, Fab, Ann, Harry and Matteo who were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the atmosphere and rooms pleasant. All in all a marvellous stay and I would recommend the hotel to everyone.
5 out 5 lovely clean atmosphere , nice restaurant area great choice for breakfast. Rooms clean and tidy together with smart TV's comfortable bed and bathroom shower very clean. Warm heated room. Just a great experience with my partner for 4 nights. Highley recommended .
The hotel is absolutely fantastic well worth a visit and the staff are amazing I would like to mention Jason night manager, Callum bar staff, Larren front of house, Emily and Fabio who are servers they made the stay all the more personal and enjoyable
Lovely hotel in a Central location. The staff were friendly especially callum, he was very polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble
Very poor service. Self check in, no welcome at reception. Restaurant over priced. Broken plug system in the bathroom, unable to use the sink the whole weekend despite reporting it. Would not recommend this hotel.
Stayed 2 nights at Cedar Court Hotel for a weekend event with approx 120 people/friends from an international organisation I’m a member of. Lovely hotel with great staff and the food at our gala dinner was faultless, every course was delicious and the serving staff looked after us so well. Special mention for Roisin who looked after our table on the Saturday evening and she was back on duty Sunday morning bright and breezy still smiling. The night manager Jason also made sure we were all looked after for late drinks. Harrogate is a beautiful place to visit, my first time but definitely would like to return. 😊
We were staying here with a large group (over 100) and we all agreed that this was a good comfy hotel and perfect for our event which ran for a few days.
Areas of the hotel have been upgraded through refurbishment, our bedroom hadn’t been refurbished but it was clean, bed comfy and still in good condition.
Staff were all super friendly and very helpful - again apologies for setting the fire alarm off 🙈!
Huge shout out to Woody for his serving and drink pouring, and a very special shout out to Roisin - amazingly friendly, calm under pressure, willing to go the extra mile, a true credit to the hotel indeed! Thank you we all at table 10 were speaking about how nice you were!
Would gladly stay here again.
Visited as part of the British Senate weekend. Enjoyed the visit and the room was clean and tidy.
Roisin & Woody were brilliant on the night and looked after us. Great customer service.
Really well looked after, Mateo recognised us and was excellent, Paloma and Pablo also very attentive, food very good.
Iqrah and sez were little super stars. Great service. If you visit here for food service is top notch. Love rhst they bring their personality to work.
Let’s start with the positives… the front of house team were terrific and I would single out the barman (Sat 3 Jan) and all the evening waiters and waitresses that we encountered each evening.
The evening meals were tasty, sizeable and good value and would gladly eat there again.
Car park large, reasonably priced and hotel not far from the town centre so all a bonus.
The public area seating was plentiful, clean, well maintained, comfortable, warm and inviting.
There are so many positives but oh dear.
I booked a superior room, not really sure that I got one. Travelodge probably have bigger better rooms. Should have commented on arrival rather than departure but hey ho!
Room servicing was poor. Bed not made up first morning, tea/ coffee/biscuits not replenished.
Second day OK.
Third day, cups not properly cleaned, bathroom not properly cleaned and tidied and carpet not properly cleaned.
Breakfast was disappointing. Food was tepid first two mornings. Third day cooked to order. Arrived so cold, in my view, that I had to send it back. I noticed the adjacent table followed my lead.
This review written prior to departure but all of the above will be brought to the attention of reception prior to my departure.
Stayed at this hotel for the second time - so lovely! Great bar, nice rooms & prime location. Car park just outside of the hotel, 15 minute walk into Harrogate
We spent a couple of nights at Cedar Court in Harrogate for a family gathering. We had a very comfortable, clean and spacious bedroom.
We ate a really good breakfast in the restaurant with a great choice of food both hot and cold.
We also had dinner there on both nights. The second night we had booked a table for 2 but after we sat down other family members unexpectedly asked to join us making 9 in all. Gary quickly rearranged the tables without any fuss and served us our meals, all of which were extremely good . Thank you Gary you did all of this with a smile and made the evening a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Artived a little early for check in as had an email from the hotel at 9sm saying our room was ready and asked us to check in. No one at reception was a button to press to speak to staff member so pressed that and patiently waited after waiting another 10 mins bar man came over now 4 couples waiting and said he was trying to find receptionist and said unfortunately he couldn’t check us in. After another 5 mins he offered us a drink while we waited he was clearly embarrassed about the situation. 20 minutes later receptionist turned up no apology for being absent was surly and not welcoming at all clearly stressed about something but that should not be passed to guests not a good start. We had upgraded to deluxe double certainty nothing deluxe about it small double bed and dated in need of renovation - cracked sink in bathroom mouldy grout and just felt grubby. Positives- bed was comfy and bar staff very friendly and helpful
We went for afternoon tea. The food was delicious. The service was excellent and our waiter Gary was very friendly, helpful, particularly accommodating our dietary requirements and was very professional. My only very minor comment for improvement would be that the tea was a little strong - perhaps 1 teabag is enough or provide additional hot water!
Fantastic Sunday breakfast with friend. Good food and excellent service from Pablo. We will be returning for afternoon tea in the New Year! Thank you so much for a truly enjoyable experience.
Our second stay at the Cedar Lodge which was as enjoyable as the first. Pleasant staff, comfortable environment, rooms very nice, only criticism is the pillow which was not great. I would definitely return though.
