Location great - in the centre of town. Simple standard room but clean and very comfortbale bed. Good linen. Parking is £7 for overnight stay, which is reasonable for centre of town. Pool area looked clean and was mostly empty.
Receptionist not very welcoming. Quite grumpy and felt like we were putting her out when we checked in.

Location in the centre of town is great.
The courtyard is very pleasant to sit in.
Management blamed inexperienced staff for some of the issues we encountered. We feel this was unfair on them. They clearly had not had the training and supervision from management to do their jobs.
Very evident was in the bar/dining areas. Due to large events in the area, the hotel was at full capacity. However, the bar and restaurant were very quiet. We were still on two nights of our three nights of our stay turned away from ordering food. Firstly rudely told, despite, observing others ordering and being served food in the lounge, we could not eat in there....there were menus on the table. The second night that they had stopped serving.
Although the manager pursued us as we walked towards a very busy but welcoming and accommodating restaurant metres from the hotel to apologize to us by blaming his staff, the whole experience left us very disappointed.
The room was ok. A cleaning issue resolved quickly but it was tired, in need of fundamental maintenance, the windows rotten, the floor in the shower felt unsupported when standing in the shower. The bed had been badly fixed at some stage too.

Light coming into bedroom from windows and under the door.
It's too expensive for what you get. The property needs some upgrades but all and all it's a good hotel for a night or 2.

The staff were extremely helpful and the location of the hotel was very convenient for us. Beautiful building and lovely garden area too.
I liked the room, which was huge, both bathroom and actual room.
Staff has been lovely, I ve asked for an early check in because my best friend was getting married at 12 and didnt have a place to change; I let them know and they managed to check me in at 10.30 which has been an absolute blessing.
Everything was perfect.
No elevators so it is a little tricky to carry your stuff up and down those steep stairs.
Some dust on the window curtains.
The whole room is kind of dark and has just a small window I had to close because of construction workers on the opposite building
The room size was good, but that's about it.
Where to Start? The room was dirty, paint was flaking, and the general level of cleanliness was quite poor. We booked a superior room as this was a weekend getaway with the wife. The room was bigger - that was it! There was no chest of drawers to put clothes, just one tiny wardrobe. The Fitness Centre was very very limited 5 rusty machines and that was it. The much vaunted swimming pool is tiny, and most of the time it was full of children. The breakfast was poor and tasteless, and the food was recycled from the day before, stale pastries and a very limited selection. The most annoying thing was that we had to pay an additional £15 for the car park (on top of the £185 per night) which on the first evening was full due to a function. They agreed to refund the car park - but this didn't happen. Very disappointed with this hotel - don't bother staying there are much better options in the area.
