Great value, very clean rooms, Excellent staff, so friendly and helpful.
Love the breakfasts.
Secure car park with night porter on duty.
Booked last minute and had a lovely welcome by the receptionist who gave us a lovely room 376 in a quiet area on the top floor. Room was spacious and clean, beds very comfy. We did struggle to turn our shower off to stop the water from still running and forgot to tell them before we left. The bar was very nice and staff were lovely and food was very enjoyable. We would have given 5 out of 5 but the breakfast was a bit of let down, the fried eggs were hard and rubbery and the bacon dry and a bit bland. This morning the bacon was slighrly better bit eggs still like rubber so we had poachef eggs which were perfect. We would still recommend the hotel and will definitely be back.
The room was clean and quiet. The linen and towels clean and fresh. However, that's where things go down hill. The basic structures of the hotel are showing their age and blown plaster in hallways, mismatched taps in our room. A shower in the bath wasn't ideal but it worked reasonably well. The carpark was dark and poorly lit and didn't give a good first impression. It's not safe for a single woman arriving after dark. The presence of a homeless person camping in the adjoining smokehouse carpark is worrying.
The biggest failure for me was the breakfast we paid extra for. On the first day we were very disappointed with the presentation of the hot food on the self service counter. The beacon was clearly cooked in a tray in the oven and the fat was not rendered in anyway. It was colourless, bland and uninspiring. The scrambled eggs looked dry and in the 20 minutes we spent in the dining room was not changed or freshened at any stage. The sausages were dry and overcooked as were the hash browns. The beans were crusty and the tinned tomatoes don't deserve any praise. The second day the presentation was just as poor and there was no bacon. My wife and I resorted to several pots of yoghurt as the food offered was deemed completely inedible. If this is a 4 star hotel then the owner needs to take a long hard look at his offering. When checking out I offered my quick feedback but the answer I got was that food was refreshed every 15 min; clearly not happening. With only 30 or so guests a 'cooked to order breakfast' would be both more cost effective and hopefully much nicer. If it was my business I'd be very concerned. I'm aware that renovation was going on in certain areas. The staff were generally helpful. If you want to stay in Lincoln best find somewhere else.
Everything was great at my first stay at the Bentley.
I did self check in on my journey down and when I arrived the reception lady (Sophie) was nice, friendly and efficient, I paid with my credit card, received my keys and was soon up in my room.
The room was large but a wee bit dated and tired looking but the bed was great. The heating radiators looked outdated but they worked efficiently and the room was always warm and cosy. The bathroom was clean and I've never stayed in a hotel room that had so much water pressure and hotness!! Wow it was scalding until you got used to it. My room shower control wasn't very good and hard to control but once used to it, it was great. Nice hand / body wash too.
I ate once in the dining room and once in the bar area, both were great with plenty choice and everything tasted lovely. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful, brilliant selection.
Unfortunately the spa was closed under renovation but the gym was newly refurbished and was brilliant!
I never tried the Weatherspoons across the road but I did try Hickory's next door, I thought it was fantastic.
I will certainly be back to stay.
Always a great night at the Bentley for New Years Eve
Lovely food friendly staff very helpful
A special shout out to Jo who works in the bar looked after us while we were having a drink before dinner
It was very clean and the staff friendly and the venue for our Christmas Day lunch was the conference halls. I had been in there many times for teacher training days. The service was slow and our table was broken . The food for the most part was ok but they brought my prearranged soup lathered-in olive oil and cream even though I had filled out an allergy form ,it was rectified swiftly. The main course was a big let down. The meat was chewy to the point of been inedible the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire puddings were from frozen (terrible they tasted like awful oven chips) and the gravy was completely tasteless and was so thin it was like water. There was no bread sauce to go with the beef . (Even Witherspoon's provide that.) I would never recommend this venue for a Christmas lunch ,unless you can’t cook and can’t tell the difference.
Had a meal in the Martini bar which was excellent.
The service staff are fabulous
Jo went over and above. She is such an asset to the company, as were all the staff we had contact with that night
Jo behind the bar is the best member of staff. Fabulous sense of humour, witty and a great laugh. Food was lovely. Great evening, thank you.
Very easy and relaxing stay with friendly staff . Especially the bar staff who were always welcoming . I would definitely recommend a stay and would stay again if my company had a choice
Very nice staff and great evening food……………………………………………………………hahahaha hahahaha hidden bsuisush suisid kisses jididnd
A good Hotel which we have stayed at this time of the year for the past 9 years. All the people who are customer facing are excellent, very professional and focussed on delivering a high level of service. Jo in the restaurant went the extra mile to make our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. The only matter that perhaps needs addressing is the consistent quality of hot breakfast items when arriving for breakfast at '9.00
Very pleasant, good service in the reception the bar and restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the bar and the restraunt was very good.
Great stay, staff was great hospitality was great, second time here, special shout out to Jo looking after us all in the evenings for food
Staff where always great and helpful and always wanted to help and alwsys happy to as well, Jo was always there to help and always so friendly.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Bentley.
Got a great deal price wise. Room, comfortable and clean. Great bed and had a fantastic sleep.
We booked it this time specifically as it’s dog friendly. Our little pooch loved his stay.
We assumed that we wouldn’t be able to eat breakfast together because one of us would need to stay with him, but while dogs are not obviously allowed in the restaurant, we were given the option to eat our breakfasts in the bar area instead, so he could be with us.
All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful.
Yes it’s a bit dated decor wise but we had a great stay and will definitely return.
Thank you!
We were there for Sunday lunch. The staff were very attentive and the food would have been good if it had been hot enough. The Yorkshire pudding felt like they hadn't been out of the fridge long. It spoilt the whole experience, which wasn't cheap. It looked as though the customers were spaced so that there really was no excuse to have too much out of the kitchen. No good having linen serviettes if the food service is poor.
We planned a night away for hubby’s birthday in Lincoln and this hotel is always our favourite.
From check in to check out all staff were friendly and professional in their job.
Our room was outstanding and breakfast was delicious as always . See you all soon
My partner and I stayed here last night and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing night away. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and welcoming.
A special mention to Sophie, who was absolutely brilliant – so professional, friendly, and attentive. She really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Her customer service truly stood out and made a big difference to our experience.
We’ll definitely be coming back soon and recommending this hotel to friends and family. Thanks again to Sophie and the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable!
I have had some bad experience with Best Western Hotels, but this is a BW 'Plus'. That seems to mean that you get biscuits and glass glasses rather than plastic. The room was okay, but it's been a good couple of decades since it was decorated. The bathroom seemed older. It was not good, and there was black mould in places on the grout. The water pressure in the sink was very strong, but for some reason this did not transfer to the shower and I also had problems controlling the temperature of the water. The bed was decent quality, and the pillows were good. It all seemed clean. There is a very noisy main road very close to the hotel and even with basic double glazing it was noisy until midnight and from about 5 a.m. I really don't understand the 'star' system in UK hotels. This is supposed to be four star and I cannot see a good reason why when it comes to the property.
There is good news. I had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed a beef bourguignon and Eton mess. It was tasty and reasonably priced. Jo looked after me. She is very efficient and has a twinkle and sense of humour, even at 10 in the evening. It was not too much, but just perfect and cheered me up at the end of a long day. I glanced at the reviews and I have never seen a name mentioned so often, and others there too. I had a lovely welcome from reception when I arrived and I'm sorry that I didn't note the lady's name. Either there is a lovely culture at this hotel or Lincoln is the friendliest town in the country. If the star system was about people alone the Bentley Hotel and Spa would get five stars.
Kylah and Jo were amazing! They really looked after the lads from the fire service. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond
