Pros:

We visited today with a luxury afternoon tea voucher, and enjoyed the best afternoon tea that we've ever had!
We sat in the lovely bay window and watched the World go by whilst eating.
Nothing was too much trouble.
It was well presented, freshly prepared, with so much choice.
We can't fault the welcome and hospitality that we received and will definitely return in the future.
We highly recommend the food, ambience and friendly hosts.
Thank you

Afternoon tea
Pros:

From the first booking phone call, till being shown out of the door, after a delicious afternoon tea experience, couldn’t have been catered for any better. The service from Daniel was warm, courteous, and attentive. Quality ingredients in the generous sandwich fillings, with exquisite sweet treats to follow.

Pros:

I had a lovely stay at the Colchester Boutique Hotel! The location is perfect — right in the heart of town, close to everything. The hotel has so much charm and character, and each room is unique and welcoming.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. My room was spotless, stylish, and very comfortable, with nice little touches like bottled water and great coffee. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and the perfect start to the day.
Overall, a beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere and wonderful service. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Colchester!

Give the single room a pass
Pros:

The people working there were the best part of the stay. The room was hot and without temperature control, other than opening a window. Since the windows easily accessible from outside in this single room, it didn't feel safe to leave open while sleeping. No working additional lock on door, including a security bar. The bathroom was nice with a shower that actually kept the water in it rather than all over the floor, unlike most places in the UK. However, light over the sink could be improved.
The room was small and I will rethink booking a twin bed in future.
Parking is available for free, but access requires some skill as the driveway is VERY narrow, requiring mirrors to be pulled in.
The location is good.

Good location, Great Food
Pros:

Short walk to town centre and onsite parking. Room and ensuite clean and comfortable. Air conditioning and radiator in room. Staff all helpful and friendly. Only downside is the room was at the front of the hotel so very noisy from traffic and pedestrians. The property is listed so has single glazed windows. Very good choice for continental breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit etc. Had a fantastic meal in the attached Indian restaurant. We would stay here again but would ask for a room at the back of the hotel which would hopefully be quieter.

Perfect central yet quiet location for Colchester.
Pros:

Had difficulty finding a central hotel that was not too noisy at night. This one proved wonderfully quiet and discretely positioned with handy parking in the centre of town (provided you are a confident driver for the narrow entrance, and don’t come up the bus lane by mistake!).
Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable, clean facilities with plenty of character.
