Breakfast very limited
Quiet hotel. Friendly staff. Restaurant very reasonable prices and excellent food very well presented
Only a minor issue but seating in the bar was not comfortable
Lovely location and very good staff.
Room was a good size, clean with a very good shower, A couple of spring water bottles in the room. Mini bar fridge but empty.
We booked to eat in the restaurant and was served by a very agreeable young man. My wife's Sea Bass was apparently ok, but my steak pie I had to complain about. Far to much fat inside, as much as meat, but our waiter was very sympathetic and didn't charge for a super glass of red wine and knocked the VAT off the bill.
On arrival and throughout our stay, it was impossible to pay with cash. Nonsensical!! Breakfast was overseen on 2 mornings by the most miserable person ever. This lead to the fact we didn’t eat in the hotel’s restaurant at night. We returned at 16.30 hours on the second day of our trip to find that the room had not been cleaned, despite us having put the usual sign outside our door. All-in-all, we felt the hotel did not offer traditional hospitality whereby everybody was welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We will not return.
Great rooms good service
The breakfast is one price £15 which is great if you are going to use the full buffet. We had children who only wanted scrambled egg still £15. Menu should be more flexible for smaller portions.
Very slow service for breakfast only one server.
Easy to find. Staff very helpful. Hotel very clean throughout. Room comfortable. Breakfast excellent.
The staff were extremely polite, helpful and efficient.
The cleanliness was exceptional and could not be faulted.
The standard rooms were very small and the fitments were at the standard I would expect of a premier inn rather than a 4* hotel, the beverage station was small and underneath I cupboard that my husband kept banging his head on. There was no fridge in the standard room.
first class service
nothing
ligging t o. v. London en t.o.v. shuttle uitstekend
airconditioning stond wel heel koud toen we de kamer inkwamen, dat kan veel warmer, en spaart dan energie!
The Donnington Manor Hotel is in a great location for me, hence my reason for staying there a number of times, its in a quiet location with plenty of parking. The bed was comfy with all the basic requirements needed for a business stop over. The salad I had in the evening was delightful, well presented and tasty.
This visit fell well short of my expectations, the room was not very clean which I reported to the receptionist on departure, particularly the floor which clearly hadn't been vacuumed thorough for a while. There is also a cleaning spray used on the floor which sticks to your socks and then makes them slippery within your shoes afterwards which is quite annoying.
Wi-Fi is an important element for any business traveler, on this occasion I couldn't use the hotel Wi-Fi so had to revert back to a hotspot on my mobile phone which allowed me to do the basics but certainly added to the workload on my second night in another hotel who fortunately had very fast, reliable Wi-Fi.
Breakfast was a disappointment to, no buffet and the gentlemen taking my order simply sat me down and asked me what I wanted and then started listing the options, I asked if he had a menu which he then had to go and get, he then stood over me whilst I read through and placed my order. Poached eggs are my measure of a good hotel and on this occasion they were poor.
Upon checking out I asked for a copy of my bill so I could check the itemization, unfortunately this was then presented as one lump sum, I only asked for this to allow me to process my expenses and apportion each element to the right area of my own expense claim, the lack of detail meant I then had to work back through each element of my orders only to find a hidden service charge had been applied. I have absolutely no issues with service charges if they are justifiable, are going to the service team and openly shown to the paying customer,
I have stayed at the Donnington Manor Hotel many times before so I am hopeful this was a one off, unfortunately on this occasion its enough to make me look elsewhere before booking again.
