Its the centre of York, Cathedral across the road.
It was so hot and the windows don't open, we had a Dyson fan and extractor fan in the room, the noise was horrendous, so I didn't sleep very well.

Maybe have a variety of fruit teas in the bedroom and not just tea/coffee or hot chocolate
Maybe move the safety deposit box off the floor in wardrobe and put it on a shelf as not very accessible for anyone to use
Bedroom very hot due to heatwave a fan is provided but this is not something the hotel can do anything about
The location is ideal for York centre and the attractions. Also the valet parking was excellent. Breakfast was amazing would recommend.
Staff were really friendly, great breakfast & fab location. Our room (36) big and the bathroom was recently refurbished & outstanding . We had a fan & a portable air-conditioning unit, great for the heatwave
It's was a little tired in places. Our room at the top of the building was great but all the windows were rotten. The secondary glazing made it impossible to open the window properly and the small bathroom window was propped open precariously. Even though it's a beautiful building I think the windows do need sorting.
Staff were excellent. Very attentive and welcoming. The hotel is in a lovely area which is central to most places. Some really nice shops nearby
The hotel downstairs has air conditioning and the decor and paintwork was very good. The decor on the third floor needs attention as it made the atmosphere seem grubby. The bed in our room seemed very small so I would choose single beds or a larger bed if I stayed again. The weather was incredibly hot and our room being small, seemed claustrophobic as there was no air. The fan did very little to our comfort and I had 2 nights of no sleep because of the heat. The weather is nobody’s fault but if I stayed again I would ask for a room with air conditioning as the temperature in the room was unbearable.

Hotel is in a great location by the Minster. Rooms were cleanabd comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
The room we had on the ground floor had no windows, except for a skylight, and we didn't consider this very safe.
