Please note that the hotel is a very popular wedding venue, therefore some bedrooms may experience noise at the weekend. Pets Policy: Maximum 2 small dogs per room is allowed and dogs are only permitted in our standard rooms. £10 per dog, per night payable on arrival to the hotel. Please note that as the property is a listed building, it does not have a elevator. Ground floor rooms are available and subject to availability and guests can arrange this by using the Special Request Box when booking. It was a last minute booking, i just needed a stop over, arriving late and leaving early so i wasn't too particular about where i stayed. Booked this for an excellent price and it way exceeded my expectations
There was an issue with my door not locking when i left my room. Brought to the attention of staff who couldn't have done more to assist.

Dirty laundry, furniture and tv over 20 years old…
The staff, especially Lisa and Jack, went above and beyond to make sure our stay was really enjoyable. They are a credit to the hotel.
The hotel was very clean, tidy, with a lovely mix of the historic building and modern decor.
The bed was very comfortable, and the shower nice and hot and powerful.
Breakfast was plentiful and nice and fresh with a good selection.
The TV in the room needed an upgrade , and the coffee in the morning was very, very weak. But those were the only two small changes I would make.
The room was very comfortable. The decor was warm with great art work. The staff were very friendly. The food was good and hearty.

We gave card details for a tab at reception in restaurant had to pay cash other than taken off our card only thing is it only the bar or not the restaurant for use of tabs ?xx
