Overnight stay
Pros:

The staff were very helpful, breakfast was really nice and freshly cooked, and the staff actually brought us pots of tea! This seems to be a rarity nowadays and most hotels provide you with tea bags and hot water in a self service area which just isn't the same.
We stopped for one night to break up a long journey, and used the opportunity to visit both the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies - which were only a short drive away - before continuing our journey.

Cons:

Nothing

Great staff and food. Would stay again.
Pros:

The staff and the location.

Cons:

The fans in the bathroom make a noise which can be heard in other rooms and you could hear people walking upstairs. Also the smell of shake n’ vak or similar was overpowering.

Thoroughly recommend anyone stayed at Garfield House Hotel.
Pros:

The staff were the friendliest most professional staff we have encountered since arrival in the UK. We have been here for 4 weeks. Facilities were excellent. Breakfast delicious and a good variety. Great parking. Spacious room. Very clean.

Cons:

Nothing disappointed us

shame we weren't put in a quieter room as there were weddings on both nights we stayed
Pros:

staff friendly and helpful , dog made welcome , large comfortable bedroom , good beds , great breakfast

Cons:

very noisy first night due to wedding party spilling outside - our room overlooked venue/front entrance and we could not get to sleep until after 1am. There was also a wedding the second night but they were less noisy It meant reception and lounge areas both evenings were crowded as well. We were given no notice of this when we booked or checked in.

Better than expected
Pros:

General room standard

Cons:

Separate hot & cold taps on bathroom basin: hot = dangerously hot ... cold = very cold.
Stupid electric towel heater unnecessarily wasting energy and dangerously hot at child level with no option to turn it off.
