Food in the restaurant was very good, but very expensive. Other than breakfast, we ate all our meals elsewhere.

Pros:

Das Ocho ist wunderschön angelegt und eine wahre Oase inmitten des Trubels…es fühlt sich an wie nach Hause zu kommen. Das Personal ist der Wahnsinn. Jeder war unheimlich bemüht und so freundlich. Insbesondere Ilse wäre für uns der Grund jederzeit wieder zu buchen. Sie hat es uns mit ihrer unglaublich lieben und aufmerksamen Art so angenehm gemacht- vielen lieben Dank dafür…als Fremde kommen und als Freunde gehen…

Cons:

Das Frühstück ist zwar wirklich phänomenal, allerdings wäre es schön, wenn man mehr als ein Getränk zum Frühstück dazu bekäme.

Jungelfeeling mit Abstrichen
Pros:

Anlage besteht nur aus wenigen Bungalows, die alle im Jungel eingebettet sind(besser geht es nicht)Das macht den Flair aus. Die Bungalows haben eine super größe und sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Haben immer uns das Frühstück auf die Terrasse des Bungalows bringen lassen und auch abends dort eine Vorspeise eingenommen. Das Frühstück, was nur aus einer Eierspeise und einem Getränk(Kaffe oder O Saft)bestand haben wir, da wir einen großen Kühlschrank und eine Herdplatte hatten, um weitere Dinge wie Joghurt, Käse, Marmelade und zusätzlichen Kaffee, für uns aufgewertet. Man konnte regelmäßig Nasenbären von der Terrasse beobachten. Der Anlage ist ein Beachclub angeschlossen. Liegen konnte man kostenlos reservieren. Von den Liegen konnte man traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge beobachten. Das Personal und die Lage der Anlage, wenige Schritte zum Zentrum, top.

Cons:

Hatten leider in unseren 4 Nächten 4 ?Kakerlaken auf dem Zimmer. Die Bungalows konnte man nicht richtig verdunkeln und es war teilweise durch angrenzende Hotelanlagen, die bis spät in die Nacht live Musik hatten, sehr laut. Ab dem frühen Morgen gab es Geräusch von der Hauptstraße. Es gab in jedem Bungalow zwar Schlafmasken und Ohrstöpsel aber....Ich schwimmer gerne täglich ein paar Runden im Pool. Dieser ist dafür allerdings nicht geeignet da,der Pool sehr klein ist und eine maximale Tiefe von ca.70cm hat, schade.

Overall our stay here was fantastic. The place was clean, in a great location, and had everything we needed for our stay
Pros:

Proximity to the beach was fantastic, as close as you can get. The pool was great and well maintained, and it was a good size for the number of guests.

Cons:

On booking.com, it said that payment wasn’t required until arrival; however, after booking through booking.com we received a message from the property saying we had to pay 75% of the stay within 48 hours or our booking would be cancelled. This should have been clearly outlined in the booking description. Upon arrival, we needed to pay the remaining 25% and we were told we could not pay in USD by card and instead had to pay in CRC where they used a conversion rate that did not match published conversions for the day we arrived and resulted in about 10% higher cost than expected.

We had an amazing stay at Ocho Artisan Bungalows. The property is gorgeous and the bungalows are beautiful and private. The beach is just steps away and the pool is a quiet oasis with a wonderful view of the ocean. What really makes this boutique hotel exceptional, though, is the warm and friendly team at Ochos. Ilse is an exceptional concierge, who took great care to ensure our stay exceeded expectations. From arranging day trips and excursions Ilse and Sue went out of their way to assist with your stay. The friendly restaurant/bar staff greeted us with warm smiles and by name. Special shout out to Daniel, Kenya, Giovanni and Jimmy.

A great location comes with a price.
Pros:

Garden, where the bungalows are, is beautiful. Bungalows are spacious and very comfortable. Access to the beach. Staff were great. Sunsets in front of the hotel’s beach are breathtaking.

Cons:

Entrance to the hotel is very ugly. Our bungalow was a bit noisy because there is a street in the back and we could hear the cars passing by. Quite expensive.

The perfect spot to rest and restore!
Pros:

The location is amazing, right on the beach. The water was wonderfully refreshing warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. Else and Sue Ellen were great hosts and all of the bartenders and servers made sure to know our names. The bungalows are beautiful, clean and private. We highly recommend Ocho Artisan for anyone traveling to Costa Rica. Also, the town is a quick walk and you can explore and shop. Bonus wildlife visits while on the beach.

Cons:

The town could get crowded, it is a tourist town. Otherwise, nothing else. We really loved the resort and the privacy of the bungalows and the proximity to the beach.

Luxury bungalows right on Tamarindo beach
Pros:

Loved that it was right on the beach. Individual bungalows mean quiet neighbors. All the staff were great but especially Ilse and Sue were super attentive, checked in with us every day to make sure we were having a wonderful time.

Cons:

We arrived late the first night and wished the restaurant stayed open longer.

Pros:

Ocho Bungalos was very comfortable and accommodating with very attentive and friendly staff. The beach was very accessible and the water was a delightful temperature. The small community offered a surprising number of excellent restaurant choices and was very walkable.

Cons:

I would have enjoyed more opportunity to hike or just to walk through the forests in the vicinity of the town.
