Prrfect and the besssst getaway EVER.... !!!!
Pros:

O my goodness - I can only rave about the place. My husband asked if we could move to another room - he loves water and wanted to be on the edge of the dam/river - and the lady at reception moved us in a heartbeat - no questions asked !!! Loved the fire place right infront of the bath tub - My husband loved the BIG shower and the water pressure for that shower was PERFECT cause lets be honest a big shower with 'n thin trickling stream of water in winter is a no-no nê !!! The restaurant food was D-licious. And the breakfast buffet was the best we ever experienced - will be back for sure !!!

Beautiful but very uncomfortable
Pros:

It’s an absolutely beautiful place with an amazing scenery, the food was lovely, the wildlife was beautiful and the rooms are incredibly spacious.

Cons:

Having booked an executive suite along with a normal room, it was disappointing to see that there was hardly a difference between the room, the executive suite was supposed to come with a view of the dam, but we were stuck behind trees with absolutely no view of the dam, additionally the bed in the executive suite was incredibly hard and uncomfortable, the room was also absolutely freezing, we tried to turn the heating on but was met with it making no difference as the room is quite big and the air-con was way too small to heat up the room, afterwards tried to light the fireplace, but was having trouble with the wood not burning and the fire just dying out. The bedsheets were so thin it also did not provide an ounce of heat, visiting the normal room we booked for a friend, it was disappointing feeling how soft her mattress was compared to ours, how the heating actually worked in her room, so she slept wonderfully as apposed to us freezing throughout the night. The executive suites are supposed to provide extra comfort, it ended up being immensely disappointing to us how uncomfortable it was.

3 nights Solo trip
Pros:

The staff: were super friendly and professional and had good attitudes and always aim to please. They are very helpful and have great customer service.

The room: the room was very clean, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Slept like a baby as it was very quiet and the sun came into my window I had a lovely view.

The food: Big compliments to the chef team, the food, portions and presentation were excellent everyday. My package had breakfast and dinner, you just have to pay for drinks at dinner. The chicken livers were my favourite it was so delicious and I don't like livers that much, the dessert was nice too the custard for the malva pudding could be improved but it was yummy.

The spa: I got a deep tissue sports massage by Ti'amo, she did an amazing job, was professional and super kind and friendly and helped me with stretches. She's very passionate and knows her stuff , will definitely book with her again. The spa is calm, relaxing and clean.

The pool was sparkling blue and has a lovely seating area, lots of parking and they have a parkrun on Saturdays which is fun.

Loved that there was a bath and a shower in my room. There is a walking trail, bird watching and other venues for events.

I'd definitely come back here I absolutely enjoyed my stay! It was so peaceful and safe and welcoming. I think they even have boats to row on the dam...the view is very beautiful. I definitely recommend The Blades Hotel.

Cons:

-The half chicken on the dinner menu was dry but definitely can be improved but it tasted good and the chips were yummy
-The door to the seating area outside the room needs fixing as it kept on getting jammed on the wall so please fix that.

Nice place, but can do better.
Pros:

The food was good.

Cons:

There was no communication from them, we had to call to ask the check-in time on the day of our arrival. They offer room service but there are no phones, you have to use your cell phone to call the restaurant or reception if you need help.

My room had no patio which I requested and although not all the suites were taken, did they not pursue when we booked in to change the booking as per email feedback earlier at the time of the booking.
