The room was nice, good location and nice breakfast
I was kept awake for most of the night due to a person being sick very loudly, ( a lot)
I also got a parking fine which I have had to dispute.
Big room with plenty of space although the room is very plain, no pictures on the wall and good benefit from a small sofa and a fresh paint room 207

Restaurant could be better
I travelled as a lone female with an elderly dog. Check in was really smooth, in within minutes. Just remember to enter your registration on arrival for the amount of days you are staying, not just nights. From the moment we arrived to checkout both I and the dog were spoilt. Staff are customer and dog focused. Harry the Labrador enjoyed his request of scrambled eggs for breakfast, yes seriously. Breakfast was freshly cooked until Sunday when it was buffet. Food was of really good quality. I think the hotel strives for cutting on waste which was nice to see.
I asked for a quiet room - 310- end of a corridor and honestly I don't think I've stayed anywhere as quiet for a long time. Also worth noting is that you are a few minutes walk to Newmiller Dam and the pubs and restaurants either side of the water. This is an ideal hotel for business people and for those wanting a base to explore the surrounding areas. The hotel has a small bar area which looks nice but I didn't really use it on this occasion.
Room was clean, basic, bed was comfy and room was bigger than expected. Really good value for money. I believe the owners are trying to reinvigorate the hotel which is and has been used for weddings, occasions and conferences.
Hotel is under new management and Darren and the Team go the extra mile to try and ensure a pleasant stay. No request was too big. I even received a lovely card wishing me a safe onward journey. I hope to stay again next time I am in the area.

Poor hygiene
Good location for Sandal, handy for several local pubs and eateries. Plenty of parking.
Hotel was clean and recently painted. Quiet when we stayed so an undisturbed night’s sleep. Staff welcoming and helpful. Excellent value for money at the price we paid.
I believe the hotel has not long reopened after being closed having been used for non-hotel/commercial purposes. The fabric /decoration of the place is fine but our room was pretty stark, no pictures or other decoration on the walls - a small thing but would make all the difference to the feel of the place and get guests coming back - we’ve stayed here in the past and it was buzzing and lively.
Staff were friendly. Location wonderful for Yorkshire Sculpture Park and amazing for Newmillerdam County Park
The breakfast cold selection was really poor with discoloured bananas and near empty trays Hotel did not advise till last moment the chef was on holiday and the restaurant was shut in the evening. Luckily a pub and another restaurant are near. Staff are lovely and location great but putting out fruit that looks poor not great and near empty trays not great either
The staff make this hotel what it is. Friendly, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are nice enough and all very clean and comfortable. Breakfast perfectly adequate.

I regularly stay for here for work. It's comfortable and better value for money than a lot of hotels in the surrounding area. As a lone female traveller, I also appreciate that it feels safe when I stay here. Good sized room. Lovely walks around the area. Good wifi!
Breakfast starts at 7am, but I have to be on the road then, so don't get to eat before I leave. But you can order and pay for food to collect from the restaurant if you want a takeaway.
