Room - The twin room allocated to us was too small. We had planned to spend a lot of time in the room, we needed more space. An alternative room was offered at a small cost to upgrade. The room allocated for the upgrade was lovely and met all our expectations. The cost of the upgrade was also good value.
The only downside was that the coffee at breakfast on the first morning was extremely weak. However, this was sorted immediately, and fresh coffee was brought to us.
Stayed her for my partners birthday and to pop the question. Stayed in the suite. Simply amazing the room was spacious clean hot tub bath was amazing only a short walk back down to the restaurant, spa and bar. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in such beautiful grounds that we sadly couldn't explore due to the rain. atmosphere in the hotel is perfect for a romantic trip. Hotel was very busy with events and functions however as soon as we shut the room door we couldn't hear any noise. Upon hearing we had just got engaged the staff were congratulating us and even gave us a free congratulations plate with chocolates and strawberries such a lovely touch. Simply amazing worth every penny
We had our wedding day here at Moor Hall on Saturday 17th January 2026. From start to finish it was absolutely perfect, everything we wanted was accommodated by our wedding coordinator Heather pre wedding and on the day Troy who were both exceptional. Everything ran smoothly, it was truly a magical day and we couldn’t have wished for anything more. We highly recommend Moor Hall and their suggested vendors.

Beautiful traditional hotel in lovely grounds
A super afternoon tea experience. Choice of teas and a great array of sandwiches and cakes. Service was superb. A nice little treat for a group of friends. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with welcoming staff.
Very enjoyable meal, the food was excellent. It was a snowy day and the dining room was a bit chilly. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Used the spa facilities in the day and had a wonderful massage. The hotel room had a lovely view of the gardens and our evening meal was delicious, also all the staff super friendly and helpful
I recently visited Moor Hall Spa with my mum for her birthday as a special treat, booking the Winter Warmer package which included a 25-minute treatment.
To start with the positives, there were many. On arrival, the receptionist gave my mum a 50% off treatment voucher for her birthday, which was a really thoughtful touch and immediately made her feel special. We were also given a tour of the spa, and the staff member who showed us around was warm, welcoming and professional. I would also say that as a whole the winter warmer package is good value for money (£65pp for 4 hour access to the spa, 25min treatment and baileys hot chocolate with brownie)
Our treatments were lovely. I had a facial and my mum had a foot and leg massage, and both therapists were knowledgeable and relaxing. After our treatments, we were given aftercare booklets and product recommendations, which felt thorough and well presented.
However, the experience unfortunately went downhill when it came to the café portion of the package.
When we first checked in, reception told us we could have our brownie and Baileys hot chocolate either after our treatment (around 2pm) or after the spa (around 5pm). We chose 2pm. Our treatments were at 1:30pm and lasted 25 minutes. Afterwards, we waited in the café area for around 10 minutes, but no food or drinks arrived, and no one approached us. As we didn’t want to waste our spa time sitting and waiting, we decided to go and use the facilities and assumed we could ask for the brownies afterwards.
When we later returned to reception to ask about them, we were met by a different receptionist whose manner came across as confrontational and dismissive. She told us the brownies and drinks had been made at 2pm and had been “sitting there for an hour and a half.” No one had informed us they were ready, and no one came to find us, despite us being in the café area initially.
We explained we were still happy to have the brownies but asked if the hot chocolates could be remade as they would now be cold. We were told we could not do that as the kitchen were already making new ones as the originals had been out too long
Unfortunately, the replacement brownies we received were drastically more basic and much less presented than the original ones we had seen earlier. Compared to what was first prepared, they felt like a downgrade and lacked the same care or presentation. The hot chocolate that was given to the birthday girl was also just a regular hot chocolate not a Bailey’s hot chocolate. After being spoken to in such a blunt way, this made the situation feel quite uncomfortable and, honestly, as though we were being made to feel at fault for a simple misunderstanding.
As this was a birthday surprise, it was disappointing for the day to end on that note. The spa itself, the treatments, and the initial staff were wonderful but the handling of this situation and the customer service at the end really dampened what should have been a completely relaxing and celebratory experience.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as with a more understanding approach and better communication, this could have been a perfect visit.
We visit Moor Hall in January every year, have never really had any issues during our stay, staff are friendly, helpful and polite.
The Garden room that we booked was very nice and clean and tidy and the Four poster bad was very comfortable.
All in all another great stay.
The afternoon tea was delightful. The kitchen catered for specific dietary needs and created delicious food. The service was friendly, a bit stretched at times which made the waits too long. Overall really enjoyable
This review is for the Italian night on the 24 January. I have been coming here for several years (even had my father's funeral here) but I was disappointed with the buffet style Italian food evening. (£30 each) Nothing was labelled. Had no idea what the items were. No signs for the soup,or ladle or bowls. Staff were pleasant but slow at clearing dirty plates and then they ran out of clean plates! Food area was not cleaned so salad was in the olives. Sloppy lasagne, dry prawns and no pizza. Puddings were in small dishes. No idea what they were but nice. Had to ask for ice cream as it was not offered. Went in to the bar afterwards for a drink as the country kitchen is so small and cramped. It was cold even though the fire was lit, couple's were hogging the heat then going out for a cigarette leaving the doors open. Coffee was sent back as was served cold. It was a little uncomfortable as there was burns night event so a lot of rowdy people and unpleasant behaviour.
I will come back to stay but will avoid any themed nights and stick to breakfast.
Also the brasserie was empty, we could have sat in there?
posizione ottima1
pulizia della stanza molto approssimativa
Having spent a week here for a course nearby the service of all staff has been exceptional. Evening meals have been a pleasure with staffing building a rapport and nothing is ever too much for them to help with. Millie was a superstar. Chris in the shorts 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Sunday lunch at The Country Kitchen was really good. Great choice of food. Really tasty fish and meat from the carvery. Service was good not intrusive. Going back next week!!
We had a lovely time at Moor hall, the food was very nice, we had sea bass the cheese and crackers which we really enjoyed, the staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very warm. Spa area as expected, the pool isn’t the biggest but it’s enough and nice steam room and little sauna, we had a nice relax in the jacuzzi following by a chill on the beds.
Overall a lovely overnight stay.
Your Italian themed dinner evening was extremely enjoyable with a large choice of delicious dishes to choose from or just try them all like I did.
Unfortunately your Greek evening did not live up to the same in food or experience.
However we will definitely attend your Italian night again.
They literally ruined my special day with unrealistic reservation while they knew they will be close and they didn’t even try to resolve the issue
