Rude reception- extra charge for a late check out
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

We were charged £20 extra for a 30 min late check out and the lady over the phone and in the reception was extremely rude, a hotel that dated should aim for a homey feel and we didn’t get neither of that- however the night receptionist was kind . And no water in the room

Lovely views, quiet area in little village, in a part of the world covering Wiltshire, Cotswold, Somerset all in a few m
Pros:

The age and location of the hotel

Cons:

The smell of damp and mustiness in entrance area. There needs to be some maintenance made to the exterior regarding rain pipes and open area viewable to floor to where pigeon s could come in. Some doors need repainting or attention to. Room smaller than expected over looking garden. The bed has been assembled incorrectly the top third needs to be spun around, so flat edge against the wall, and hair dryer not working. Just a few little things really

Cozy, comfy, and I didn’t want to leave :(
Pros:

Pretty old building right off the side of Bath. Bar and restaurant on-site, close to the nearest train station. The staff were warm and friendly and helpful, checking in and checking out was easy. I didn’t use any of the facilities on site but I’m sure it was great. Free parking on the property. Lovely veranda to cry in whenever you have to leave.

Cons:

The nearest train station was freshford, so be prepared for a twenty minute walk through a field or to take the bus/pay for an uber. The walls are kind of thin and the stairs are LOUD. I was woken up a few times to people in the halls, but like…it’s an old building, what can you do. Also the bath tub was weirdly small and high up? I’m not sure why they chose to renovate it like that.

Above all a pleasant stay but requests made beforehand were not adhered to.
Pros:

Views are lovely and room is fairly spacious.staff were very friendly and cooperative.

Cons:

We originally asked for a room with a terrace that we had at a previous booking around 2018-2019 but sadly this was not provided. This was confirmed to us by the original booking made with contact made with the hotel

The bed was quite rickety with a lot of noticeable temporary repairs. The shower pressure was fairly average and the TV remote seemed a bit bit and miss
