Excellent location on the side of a valley. Not far from Bath. An expensive feel but without the expense.

Exceptional service from every member of staff! The best we have ever experienced.
Pros:

The efficiency and friendliness of the staff and their service was exceptional!

Cons:

The bedrooms are in desperate need of refurbishment ( Best Western - this lets the exceptional standard of staff service down ) although the room was clean and comfortable. The outside views of all three rooms need to be cleaned up.

A comfortable, convenient place to stay for a business trip.
Pros:

The hotel amenities are well appointed, and the lovely big lounge and bar areas, were comfortable and airy. The outside patio area over looking the valley was a lovely feature.

Staff all very helpful. We held a business meeting in the Avon room and Milan & David provided an excellent service in the setting up of the room with TV and providing coffee pots and sandwich lunch.

Cons:

The bedrooms were very comfortable, but as it the way with old converted stately homes, the bathroom was cramped - but it was functional. Probably worth asking customers if they need more space in the bathroom/shower and allocate rooms accordingly. Our group had a very tall well built gentleman, who found it challenging to squeeze between the sink and the fixed shower panel on the bath to access the shower.

Basic, but clean and quiet environment
Pros:

The shower needs upgrade. It is not fit for purpose, a bit outdated.

Pros:

We enjoyed our stay. The pub 100 m down the road from the hotel was brilliant.

Cons:

Our stay met our expectations, however, on the evening of our stay, there was a private function at the venue (a wedding). It would have been beneficial to be aware of this prior to our arrival, considering some areas we were not allowed to enter, and there was some noise disturbance.

Lovely location shame about the hotel.
Pros:

Location excellent but we were not notified that the access road to the hotel was closed. Nice communal rooms and well tended garden.staff helpful and pleasant.

Cons:

Advertised as Best Western but no longer part of chain. On arrival informed rooms not serviced unless requested. No help with bags.First room bathroom door did not shut and taps old and old and wobbly. No sleep as goods trains running all night and bright lights on.Moved to better room the next day.went to bar for meal but most meals unavailable as oven broken.Same thing happened on second night.Served heated up frozen foods .Very poor.Breakfast poor quality .Fruit salad mainly out of a tin. Some areas would benefit from redecoration. This hotel could be amazing .

A very pleasant stay
Pros:

Lovely breakfast & dinner. Restaurant staff were very professional.

Cons:

Window opening was very small so it was difficult to get fresh air in the room. There was a fan in the room, but luckily we brought our own extra air coolant.

We were delighted that it was an old historic building, but very comfortable and spacious.
Pros:

Everyone was very helpful! Breakfast was excellent, and the view was stunning.

Cons:

The heat, but the hotel couldn't do anything about global warming and the rising temperatures. The fan in the room helped.
